Thankfully when I first sat I had four masks so it was more of an 'Uhhh, ok,' moment, then I found the mechanism to the left and got to sit for real. All was right with the world... for now!
@HugoGED So many companies seem to want to push a mundane and boring minimalism in their art which is just sad. They must be afraid of overstimulating all us adults.
Hearing that some devs still don't have dev kits (like Gears for Breakfast) for Switch 2 and then seeing the line-up in that recent Direct certainly seems to make a lot of sense to me.
MHS 3, Pac World 2 and that Elliot game are on the radar though.
Gears for Breakfast is another developer who has yet to get a Switch 2 Dev Kit. I know this because I inquired as to why A Hat in Time kept crashing in the same place when playing on Switch 2 and the spokesperson said they're looking into while waiting on a dev kit. That's bad form Nintendo!
I really wanted to play Elden Ring on Switch 2. If it's gonna be a digital game with extra steps, I mean Game-Key Card, then I'm just going to finally grab it on another platform for a fraction of the price. It's not a new title after all.
Even Nintendo was quick to clarify that Game-Key cards would not be used for 1st party titles; that makes it sound like even Nintendo considers the format to be inferior. After all couldn't they make EVEN more money by only doing Game-Key cards for everything?
Gonna be playing some Mario Kart World online and with my brother. Before I wind down for that day I'm gonna cherry pick some of my backlog and see how they run on the new beast.
Still fondly remember the day my brother got this as a belated birthday present for me. Wasn't too sure I'd like it at first. Then as I played (even moreso when I got to the Weapon Master mode) I fell in love with the title.
Will look forward to playing through it again in the near future.
@Jeronan Saber Interactive worked a bit of wonder with getting the Witcher 3 running on cart (with some compromises certainly) so who's to say that an equally marvellous port of the Witcher 4 complete on cart is completely off the table?
But I certainly agree that many devs now have a make-up that is very much too many cooks, too little taste.
Clair Obscure would be an excellent get on the system and I hope it happens for anyone here who only owns Nintendo consoles.
Xillia Duology or Abyss seems the most likely at the moment. Since I own Abyss on both PS2 and 3DS and have never played Xillia I definitely would like to see that first.
Just finished the HD remake on Switch (was hyped after the sequel announcement) and I found it quite enjoyable. With the exception of that Blockhead Grande, though it can be cheesed with a quick phone recording and I suppose the little emotional moment following is kind of poignant for such a simple enemy.
@Kazman2007 There was a massive gap between Other M and Metroid Dread so there's always the chance for a potential resurgence. In the meantime I'll play the original and Lost Age to death on NSO just to convince Nintendo that we're here.
Nintendo houses my favourite franchises hands down. If the next Mario, Zelda, Fire Emblem, DK, Splatoon or Golden Sun (let me have this) games released on a Nintendo Toaster, I would buy Nintendo Toaster.
For that same reason, and no other, I will buy Switch 2. Everything else is a bonus.
Personally I find that a Kinstone-like system would be ideal in an open world Zelda title; it would easily facilitate elements of the world changing piece by piece either for narrative or simple sidequest reasons. As long as any changes can be seamlessly tracked of course.
@roy130390 You're certainly right; the future iterations of the franchise is the most potent place to make changes in characterization that will feel more natural and stick as a result. Media that exists should be shown to us as is, with the exception of QoL that makes the game more playable on a current platform.
I'll probably grab the game myself closer to Christmas (I just gave my brother a loan to fix up his ailing car so I'm out of pocket for now.)
@roy130390 I grew up with shows like Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry; in the latter Tom was always having his tail blown up, nearly chopped by axes or having his face smashed with an anvil and despite this I understood the slapstick nature of the show even if I wouldn't have been able to verbalize it at that age.
I certainly never tried to do those same things to siblings or schoolmates because of simple common sense, a commodity we seem to be lacking or, worse, willfully ignoring.
On the note of Amy I always found the Fleetway comic version of her character more endearing; while she retained that bubbly love toward Sonic she was also the savvy tech genius before that became a run-into-the-ground trope. (Tropes aren't bad, their overuse is.)

Re: Anniversary: SNES Action RPG 'Terranigma' Is 30 Years Old Today, And It's Still A 10/10 In Our Book
Nice to see the vote split is between people who love it and people who would like to love it.
Can't believe I was only 8 when this first came out.
Re: Can You Name These NES Games From The Mangled Box Art?
18/21.
I mixed up the Zelda's and didn't recognize Ducktales all swirly.

@Hank_Scorpio All of the above! Besides, once DKB is out, maybe we can get to work on Fighters Destiny and Snowboard Kids for N64 NSO eh Nintendo?

Re: Ubisoft's Switch 2 Physical Release Of Star Wars Outlaws Is A "Game-Key Card"
@StewdaMegaManNerd Yes, just 3rd parties; pretty much a given that Nintendo's output will be full on card.
Re: Ubisoft's Switch 2 Physical Release Of Star Wars Outlaws Is A "Game-Key Card"
Sadly CD-Projekt and Marvellous are going to be the outliers in a generation of Game-Key card releases. Bit of a shame all round.

It was a great game then, it's a great game now. The few niggles it has overall can't dampen what is an excellent adventure.
