I absolutely loved this game growing up. My brother and I always tag-teamed to try and get through it all. We always got thwarted just around the level with the sakura-leaf throwing boss.
Definitely would recommend. It's still a brilliant game today.
That's a horrible thing to have happen to you Tom. So even if you got it to work consistently it would take forever to move what little data the internal memory could take.
I've been lucky that a 32gb Toshiba memory stick has been more than enough to satisfy my digital library storage. Won't need any more with Wii U dying and all.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I think Clayfighter could be something humourous if it made it into the hands of the right developers. Who those are... eh, I have no idea.
Earthworm Jim however; give that man to Playtonic who have the games kind of hilarity down path.
I suppose the last bastion of hope is to have a fan spend 9 years making a superior Paper Mario game, distribute it and let Nintendo take it down. It seems to be the only thing that truly garners the attentive eye of Nintendo.
Saying that Paper Mario's first iterations had a heavy focus on puzzle-solving is a gross over simplification if you ask me. Puzzles in 64 and TTYD came about as a response to the narrative, narrative made possible by the vast array of characters. Puzzles were a symptom of narrative necessity and not the driving force for the entire games.
A slick reveal trailer which shows off the capacity of the system, followed by a sizzle reel of any amazing games in the pipeline. Couldn't be simpler.
It's always games already owned that seem to receive these paltry discounts. I fail to see why Nintendo can't offer some more full games when a lot of us have plenty of points hanging around our accounts.
Also is there going to be no more My Nintendo games offered through this service?
Sadly I'm burnt out on Mario Maker after spending the last year making numerous god-awful courses. So this announcement draws out little to no excitement at all; I don't relish the thought of double dipping for an inferior portable when I can send my faraway friends any level codes.
Happy for those who didn't have a Wii U to experience the game, now they can.
If you haven't already you should get Mega Man Legacy Collection or Ducktales Remastered. Or both! A classic collection and a class remaster. Pure Joy!
It's fate was sealed very early on. There's been a drought in terms of Metroid support and to try and ignite the fans passion with a spin off over a core entry was always going to be risky. It's a shame because the quality of MP:FF as a game isn't lacking.
@LasermasterA Golden Sun would be nice, sadly it's wishful thinking at this point.
That Project N-Stars big budget game revealed in the leaks earlier this year; was that tied to a game already revealed? If not, maybe we will see it in this Direct.
I'd suffer through this games dull gameplay if there was a narrative heft to it and plenty of original characters. Shame Mr. Miyamoto seems to have a problem with originality when it comes to the Mario series.
Ah the joyous pangs of nostalgia. This game looks to be bringing back the best of everything that Sonic is. It'd be nice if it came to a Nintendo console at some point, but even if it doesn't I'll find a way to play the hell out of this game.
What appealed to me was the concept of using the range of amiibo across a multitude of games. But instead its just Mario amiibo for Mario games, Zelda for Zelda games. There's scope for so much better if they'd just try!
When you have a success with something like the Wii it's only natural to assume that your next project would do well also. The Wii U has provided some generally memorable games that I'll continue to play in the years to come.
Mistakes where made and realistically Nintendo has probably ironed these flat out with regards to the development of the NX. That an Nintendo, simply put, has all my favourite franchises.
I think the development of this game shows a little arrogance on the part of Nintendo. According to the E3 Treehouse stuff development on this game began right after Sticker Star finished, so they would have had no idea just what kind of reception it would receive.
My only reasoning is that they believed with Miyamoto helming Sticker Star that it was going to be a guaranteed success and wanted to ride that assurance into a sequel.
Those enemy cards in the game are the biggest insult in general as someone who enjoys good characterization and narrative structure.
My main gripe is just that Miitomo is just so boring to use. I'm just going through the motions for coins. As soon as I can get coins from Fire Emblem or Animal Crossing, or both, Miitomo is going in the bin!
Sad how poisonous some threads become once some numpty brings up graphical horsepower. Zelda is a nice looking game, it's stylized for aesthetic reasons; LoZ will never look like hyper-realistic AAA games even if it had the power to do so.
Until I read this article I didn't read into what Ubisoft's reveal could actually spell for Nintendo's future console. Now you have me worried that the NX is going to be another gimmick console, and Nintendo isn't in a strong enough position to hinge its future on a gimmick.
I think the plural of systems just refers to the Wii, Wii U and NX as the consoles the games coming out on, not that the NX comprises multiple systems (though certainly it still could).
Ultimately its makes no difference: a female option being available is a fine thing. I just believe that the female should have been a completely different character, such as an older version of Links sister Arryl.
Link being interchangeable as a character says he's narratively irrelevant which I don't think is strictly true. It's brilliant though that the people who want to play as a woman will finally have the chance.

Re: BBC iPlayer App to End Service on Wii U in Early 2017
@SLIGEACH_EIRE It made the BBC Three move to online only all the more cumbersome. I like to watch my telly on the telly.
Re: Nintendo to Skip Paris Games Week at the End of October
I've become inured to the idea that the NX isn't going to be revealed until some time in January. I'll be pleasantly surprised if this isn't true.
Until then I'll just have to play Pokemon Sun for the duration.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE That's not a bad saving at all. Thanks for that man.
Re: Video: Take a Look at Paper Mario: Color Splash in All its Polychromatic Splendour
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Where are you getting this for €40? And here I am looking at €49.99 listings like a sucker.

Splatoon will never die! Until the sequel. Then, SEQUEL!
Re: 3DS Nintendo Direct Confirmed for 1st September
@IceClimbers Is that right. Thanks. I suppose with that it's just going to be more on games we've already seen, which isn't as exciting.

I'll certainly pick up a copy of Pikmin 3 to replace my copy that got banjaxed.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Can't help but think of Only Fools and Horses when I hear any sort of Pimpernel parody.
ON TOPIC: That's a patent all right!
Re: Nintendo Issues Takedown Notices for Impressive Fan-Made Metroid II Remake, AM2R
It's sad that fan games like this make a better effort for Metroid than the Big N does. I'll take this over Federation Farce any day.
Re: Darksiders is Coming to Wii U
€20 sounds like a steal for the original game (my PS3 disc got banjaxed.)
It would be lovely if this was pointing to a potential 3rd game in the series coming out in the future and hopefully for NX.

New Paper Mario U. I already have enough Mario platforming this gen I think.

Re: Editorial: With Lowered Expectations E3 Can Still Be Full of Nintendo Magic
@HSuzumiyaVI Exactly!
Re: Editorial: With Lowered Expectations E3 Can Still Be Full of Nintendo Magic
At the very least it would be nice to end the show by saying the NX will revealed on [insert date here] and give us a concrete day to look forward to.
I can't wait for new Zelda and Pokémon but they were never going to be enough on their own.
Re: Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is All Set for a September Release on the Wii U eShop and at Retail
So Christmas for Europe if there are no snags. Yay!
Re: Nintendo NX Production Reportedly Pushed Back To 2017 To Incorporate Virtual Reality
Didn't Reggie once say that Nintendo wasn't looking at VR technology because they didn't believe it could be adapted to be fun at its current level.
Based on that it's hard to imagine VR becoming a focal point of the new console, which Nintendo NEEDS to be a success.
