Silksong would be big enough that it deserves to be part of a larger Nintendo Direct. Leave this little showcase for some interesting titles that deserve a little more spotlight.
I don't believe a Zelda game since Ocarina of Time didn't suffer a delay of some sort so this is not really unexpected. We'll just have to enjoy the other games we get this year and occasionally play BotW in anticipation.
I've always found it the hardest to supplement my teams with a fire Pokemon I like which is why I often just picked the fire starter. Luckily they're usually quite good!
I think maybe the focus should be to go back to the Nintendo aspect of the series and dial back the 3rd party inclusions (I'd miss Banjo though, so keep him lol). Focus on Nintendo's cast, bolster the single player and online modes and only add a slim crop of 3rd party that works alongside them (e.g Banjo & Sonic).
@BlueMonk 'What was once clever is now just a trope.'
I think you mean cliche rather than trope here; tropes are simply tools but an overused trope becomes a cliche. But I understand the point you are making.
Luckily as a community we search out all our favourite games in any sphere and share them with each other thus making sure we avoid the pitfall of shovelware games while also being made aware of some truly hidden gems.
Feels like when they changed the Nickelodeon logo years ago; a kind of minimalism that is afraid we might have our senses inflamed by a myriad of colours.
Square Enix just loves its mobile gaming, for better or for worse. I simply can't believe there's a high demand for classic FF games on mobile over dedicated gaming systems, I just can't.
@Pavil I really enjoyed Fighters Destiny back in the day. Some of the music in that game was pretty memorable to me. Still have Jokers Room saved in a playlist because of that.
Is there a character that Satoru Iwata really wanted to see in Smash that isn't currently represented? If not that could be an indication of what to expect as a final character in a project that Sakurai said he feels was his last job given to him by Mr. Iwata.
Now there's a nostalgic character I wouldn't have dreamed of seeing today. Liked the cartoons on Disney channel when I was small so I'd be down for a fun little platformer.
Surprised that Legends is releasing that early; it could kind of cannibalize their own sales from BD/SP if potential customers are going to pick one over another.
Hope they get something decent if they choose Legends over the remakes.
Initially the concept of Amiibo intrigued me; unlike Skylanders and Disney, who's figures only worked with their respective game series, Amiibo, being the product of a platform holder, had the potential to see use across a variety of games and mitigate buying dozens of toys for each individual game.
Despite this Nintendo still took the approach of dropping new ones for individual games and not utilizing figures that people already bought, like I thought they would.
When I bought a Shulk amiibo I thought it might work across multiple games in the Xeno series. Nope. Sadly this is the fate of many amiibo and so only really retain value as a collectable at that point.
Hollow Knight was amazing so I'm more than happy to wait for them to give it the kind of polish it deserves. The last thing I'd want is a rushed buggy mess; let the AAA industry handle that sort of thing.
First half was pretty good, third parties and E3 will give us a look at what the latter half of the year will bring. Can't wait for those presentations.
Konami should just focus their attention on Pachinko and the like and simply farm out their IP's to companies that actually want to make games with them. Probably wouldn't present too much hassle.
I'd die for a Suikoden game made by Monolith Soft but am happy enough with Eiyuden Chronicle for now.

Duel Master is fun enough when all the Drytron players are filtered out of whatever rank you currently play at.
Finding Witchcrafters to be a lot of fun.
