I only just got my skell so I still have a significant portion of the game to go through. So far, I’d give it a 9/10. While the story isn’t reaching the highs of the main trilogy (which i expected), the exploration and gameplay are excellent so far.
Even though I’ve put like 200-100 hours into XC2 and XC3, i expect I’ll probably end up having the most playtime in XCXDE.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition: I finished chapter 6 and got my skell the other day so now I'm working on doing all the missions I have available before starting chapter 7. I want to explore more of Sylvalum and Cauldros too.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna the Golden Country: I was hoping to have this finished before XCXDE came out but that didn't happen lol. I just made it to Auresco so I'll probably work on more sidequests to raise the community level before continuing the main story.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses: On chapter 9 of an intended Crimson Flower run. I'm probably gonna work on recruiting Sylvain and Leonie this month so I can do their paralogues later.
The Hundred Line - The Last Defense Academy: The switch demo finally came out yesterday so I'm looking forward to trying out the game this weekend.
From this list, Metroid Prime 4, Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake were the games I was most interested in from the Direct.
Additionally, I was also interested in Star Overdrive, Witchbrook and The Wandering Village. I’ll probably wait for reviews on each of these before buying though.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition was my most anticipated game of the year and it's been living up to expectations for me so far. That said, the other games I'm looking forward are:
1. Lunar Remastered Collection 2. The Hundred Line - Last Defense Academy 3. Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma 4. Terminator 2D: NO FATE 5. Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (dependent on performance) 6. Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake 7. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (Very dependent on performance) 8. Marvel Cosmic Invasion 9. Pokémon Legends: Z-A 10. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
I have one voucher left and I'll probably use it to double dip on a digital version of Pokemon or MP4.
@Flashlink99 Everyone seems to be obsessed with the prospect of a version with better performance. We don't even know how Switch 2 will impact current Switch 1 games yet.
This showing was a lot better than the Pokémon presents one. I like the dynamic between catching pokemon in the daytime and doing trainer battles at night.
Small issue but I hope the character customization is better than it was in Legends Arceus.
Metroid Prime 2 & 3 ports
Wind Waker HD & Twilight Princess HD ports
A Fire Emblem remake?
More GBA games on NSO (where is Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland?)
Crono Trigger port
Ever Oasis port
A Xenosaga Trilogy collection (hopium)
Edit after the Direct: Idk what i was smoking when I came up with this list lol.
Yeah probably just Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. Somehow, I’ve already sunk 20 hours into it and I’m just at the beginning of chapter 4 lol. I only played about 8 hours of the Wii U version but the QoL changes Monolift Soft have made are excellent.
If I can claw myself away from XCXDE long enough, I’ll also play a bit of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna the Golden Country and Fire Emblem: Three Houses (crimson flower route) to finish those playthroughs.
I ended up double dipping on both digital and physical copies of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition so I could play at midnight on 03/20. Ironically, Best Buy did manage to get my physical copy delivered the same day; just very late in the day lol.
@tho_mi So you already played XC1 and are currently playing XC2? It might be better to play XC3 next since it has elements from XC1 and XC2. Additionally, there is story DLC for both XC2 and XC3 that is worth playing (XC3’s especially after you finished the main game).
I love them all and think they got better with each numbered release (so 3 > 2 > 1).
That said, my personal favorite is Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It is the first one Xenoblade game I played and I love the story, characters, music and environments.
I recently finished replaying XC2 again for the first time 2019 an it was a delight from start to finish. It's a shame the tutorials aren't that well developed because the game is really fun once you understand how a lot of the systems work(especially how blade combos and driver combos and how weave them into one another).
I hear XCX has some of the best environment designs in the series so I'm looking forward to seeing that as nothing else has topped how cool it was to explore titans Gormott and Uraya for the first time.
Also, I can't wait to finally get my own mech after only being able to fight them for three games lol.
@Synecdoche You are probably right about Echoes of Wisdom at this point (which is unfortunate :/) but I would give it another month or so before giving up on a XCX amiibo. XC3 got its amiibo really late.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Currently chapter 9 of my non-NG+ replay. Hoping to have it finished soon and squeeze a playthrough of Torna before XCX:DE comes out. Pneuma is just so busted lol.
Fire Emblem Three Houses: Third attempt at completing this. I always enjoy my time with it but I either burn myself out from grinding out too many supports or life gets in the way. I wanna play Three Hopes and Engage at somepoint afterwards so I think this will be the time. I'm doing CF and already got Edelgard to C+ support.
Bakeru: Physical edition came in the mail the other day so I'm slowly playing a level here and there in between other games.
It's nice that they lowered the price. Unfortunately, like a lot of other Switch games that switched from being published by Nintendo back to SE, the eShop demo is gone.
Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. If I'm being honest, I didn't really enjoy Legends Arceus as much as any of the other Switch era Pokemon but I hope this one will vibe better with me.

We are so close yall.
Re: Nintendo Treehouse Returns This Week With Two Presentations On Switch 2 Gameplay
This is exciting. Hopefully one of those games will be something that catches my interest (if not both).

Re: Digital Foundry Analyses The Tech In Xenoblade Chronicles X For Switch
It's an excellent remaster. That's all that matters to me.
Re: Japanese Charts: Xenoblade Chronicles X Arrives In Style And Sends Monster Hunter Packing
I would have liked to see it cross 100k but this is fine. Hopefully it'll have good legs and good worldwide sales despite the modest marketing.
If nothing else, XCXDE at number 1 for the week is an achievement given the competition.
Re: Feature: "If The Game Does Not Sell Well, We May Be Done" - It's Do Or Die For Too Kyo Games & 'The Hundred Line'
@CR0J0 Maybe there was a delay between the announcement and when it went live.
I have it downloading now.

@ozwally They took their time but the Switch demo is finally out.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct For March 2025?
7/10
There wasn't a ton I'm excited for but I wasn't bored while watching it either.
Witchbrook seemed like a neat game.
Metroid Prime 4 looks good but I do feel like I need to see more of it before I'm satisfied.
Pokemon Z-A seems a lot more interesting to me now that the day and night cycle mechanics have been explained.
I'll keep my end on Raidou Remastered but it'll probably be awhile after release before I play it.
Virtual Game Cards at least seems like a slight improvement on the current system with digital games on multiple Switch systems.
Nintendo News Today sounds cool in theory. Hopefully it's properly supported. They should really consider a website version too.
Really do wish they could have done this last week so XCXDE could have been given some brief Nintendo Direct exposure.
No Zelda Wii U HD ports or Prime 2 & 3 ports are a shame but I guess I was expecting too much.
Re: A New Tomodachi Life Game Is Coming To Switch Next Year
Happy for the Tomodachi Life fans. They've been begging for a new game for awhile.
I dont think this is for me at all but I do look forward to seeing clips from other people's gameplay.
Re: Marvel Gets The Shredder's Revenge Treatment In Upcoming Beat 'Em Up 'Cosmic Invasion'
In hindsight, i wonder why it took so long for something like to get made? The idea just seems right. It looks great too.
Re: Random: Sakurai Sends Fans Into Meltdown Ahead Of Switch Direct
Welp. So much for that lol.
Re: 'Nintendo Today', A New Mobile App, Will Deliver Fresh Switch 2 News Every Day
Interesting idea tbh. I'll give it a download because why not.
That said, only making an app and not also having a website seems a bit silly to me.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Gets A New Trailer, But No Release Date
Looks good although I need to see more.
I guess we really aren't getting Prime 2 & 3 on Switch before this comes out. 😭
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Gets A New Trailer, But No Release Date
@Flashlink99 Everyone seems to be obsessed with the prospect of a version with better performance. We don't even know how Switch 2 will impact current Switch 1 games yet.
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
@YaGirlSkyByte If a game is installed on multiple systems, only the primary system can start the game without an internet connection.
This probably won't matter for dock only players but it's great for us that use handheld mode.
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
You know what? I'll take it. Trying to switch from gaming on my OLED (main) to my Lite (secondary) is kind of pain.
With this system, I'll just keep some of games on the Lite system and leave it to that.
Can they make using DLC content across multiple systems more lenient too while they're at it?
Re: New Pokémon Legends Z-A Trailer Dives Into Even More Upcoming Features
This showing was a lot better than the Pokémon presents one. I like the dynamic between catching pokemon in the daytime and doing trainer battles at night.
Small issue but I hope the character customization is better than it was in Legends Arceus.
Re: Random: Sakurai Sends Fans Into Meltdown Ahead Of Switch Direct
Lol
I'd be interested in anything Sakurai might be involved in so cool.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Want To See?
Metroid Prime 2 & 3 ports
Wind Waker HD & Twilight Princess HD ports
A Fire Emblem remake?

Ever Oasis port
A Xenosaga Trilogy collection (hopium)

@danzoEX That'd be a real cool announcement.
Re: Nintendo Direct Confirmed For Tomorrow, 27th March 2025
Surprised this is real tbh but I'll look forward to watching.
I have one more voucher left so hopefully they'll be something here that I want to use it on.
I'm also hoping they give Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition a brief shout out at the beginning just to get more eyes on it.
Re: Koei Tecmo Is Bringing A Fan-Favourite Atelier Character To 'Warriors: Abyss'
I am extremely curious as to how Ryza will translate into the more realistic DW artstyle.
Re: Feature: "If The Game Does Not Sell Well, We May Be Done" - It's Do Or Die For Too Kyo Games & 'The Hundred Line'
Would have been great if they timed the Switch demo to release with this interview.
Re: Nintendo's Monolith Soft Updates Its Switch Portfolio With Latest Release
@Tyranexx yep, there’s also a Xenosaga anime based on the first game in the trilogy which is part of the reason why the Japan-only DS game exist:
https://youtu.be/JMIyHRVi5ug?si=CsEHNZiBxxYlHzXV (basically, the anime some changes to episode 1's plot that Monolift Soft liked so the DS game adapts episode 1 and 2 with those changes)
Looking back at how things went with Xenosaga (a lot of the supplemental content is Japan-only), Xenoblade fans have it really good.
Re: Nintendo's Monolith Soft Updates Its Switch Portfolio With Latest Release
Easily my favorite Nintendo developer. And maybe my favorite developer in general atm.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd March)

Re: Check Out 11 Minutes Of Gorgeous Gameplay From Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition
@tho_mi So you already played XC1 and are currently playing XC2? It might be better to play XC3 next since it has elements from XC1 and XC2. Additionally, there is story DLC for both XC2 and XC3 that is worth playing (XC3’s especially after you finished the main game).
Re: Check Out 11 Minutes Of Gorgeous Gameplay From Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition
@Joeynator3000 That’s associated with the new story. You see it briefly at the end of this trailer:
https://youtu.be/ah9JgFGdqWU?si=8CJLoMjNrjqa3KV4
Ideally, news outlets won’t be showing that off. Hopefully the fan base doesn’t get too trigger happy with spoilers immediately after release either.
Re: Check Out 11 Minutes Of Gorgeous Gameplay From Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition
Just a little less than 12 hours and then I can finally play. Thank you for the gameplay to help pass the time.
Re: Rumour: Latest Switch 2 Theory Suggests Release Date Might Be Right Around The Corner
@Divide_and_Wander It's been unbearable since January.

Re: Atelier Yumia Scores Free Demo Next Week, While New Trailer Dives Into Gameplay
Unexpected but cool news. I wasn't planning on picking up Yumia anytime since XCXDE is close and I still need to beat the Ryza trilogy.
That said, I will give this a download as I'm very curious about Switch performance and if it's decent, I'll grab a physical copy before it gets rare.
Re: Poll: What Switch Game Could You Not Live Without?
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for me. I might not have been the huge Xenoblade fan that I am now without it.
Re: New Nintendo Patent Hints At Improved Voice Chat On Switch 2
I hope this is built into the system and the pro controller. If it requires the NSO smartphone app, I won't use it.

It's nice that they lowered the price. Unfortunately, like a lot of other Switch games that switched from being published by Nintendo back to SE, the eShop demo is gone.
Re: Poll: Which Starter Pokémon Will You Choose In Legends: Z-A?
I don't have any experience with these starters so I guess I'm indifferent.
After looking up their evolutions, I will almost surely be picking Chikorita.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Trailer Confirms Starters And Mega Evolutions, Coming Late 2025
Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. If I'm being honest, I didn't really enjoy Legends Arceus as much as any of the other Switch era Pokemon but I hope this one will vibe better with me.
Re: How Would You Rate The Pokémon Presents Showcase For February 2025?
5/10
Pokémon Legends Z-A gameplay was the only thing that interested me. The presentation was kind of what I expected based on past ones though.
Re: 'Pokémon Champions', A New Battle-Focused Game, Announced For Switch And Mobile
When they showed the Gameboys during the teaser, I briefly let myself get my hopes up for Pokemon games on NSO. That was foolish of me lol.
Re: New Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Trailer Is Our Best Look Yet At The Upcoming Remaster
Less than a month to go. I can't wait!
Re: Lunar Remastered Collection Physical Release Will Not Be Up For Pre-Order (North America)
Yikes. I guess I'll need to set a reminder on release day so I can get an order in. 😰
