The fact that it's just the Nintendo Switch 2 logo rather than the Nintendo logo is funny to me.

I am not going to watch this event but I'll check news sites afterwards for any relevant Switch 2 news.

@RainbowGazelle What's the alternative? No other platform has stepped up to replace it. Bluesky is neat but it's still missing features and many haven't migrated.

Looking forward to the Switch 2 version. Not looking forward to seeing the price tag.

I was afraid of this after seeing how P3R turned out. Assuming (hoping) it comes to Switch 2, I'll probably still buy it but a Persona 4 remake without the original voice cast just won't be the same. At least Golden is still easily accessible.

Tbh, I think they should do some of these for their in-house and subsidiary developed games too.

@Dhaladog I have the Steam version and I'm seriously considering this version for handheld play. I'm just going to wait for reviews at launch since I'm already getting two other Switch 2 games on day one.

Lol, I haven't even started The Hundred Line yet (hopefully next week). That said, a new game from Kodaka with a Switch release means I'll be keeping my eye on this regardless.

I think a part of me has accepted that most third parties will just cheap out with GKCs unless something changes. Especially given the current state of the industry.

I hope Nintendo never considers it with any of their releases. Seeing something like a new Xenoblade or Astral Chain as GKC releases would be depressing.

@Koda1000 It was at 9th place with (109,782) LTD sales during the April 28, 2025 to May 4, 2025 sales period. It's been almost two months since release and this is a remaster so I don't think that's terrible.

I have way too many games in my backlog to be waiting so I am playing the system just as much as I usually do. I'm just getting around to Ni no Kuni 1 for example and that has been a blast. I also still have a lot to do in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition and I'm hoping to start The Hundred Line in the next week or so.

At launch, I'm only planning to get Mario Kart World and Rune Factory. I'll buy some of the other Switch 2 games I want after I've finished these two.

I do have a gaming laptop as my other system but unless I'm playing FFXIV, I kind of just prefer to play most games on Switch. If anything, I'm ghosting my Steam library to see how the next Steam Deck iteration turns out.

Anytime there's a C&D like this, I have to wonder why the people getting the C&D are surprised. Don't poke the bear.

They should have just made something aimed at gamers in general without referencing any specific game.

@Aerona I think it'll depend on how third party sales are. If console sales and first party sales are good but third party aren't, they might have a reason to make things cheaper. Or at least provide more options.

"Excited" isn't the word I'd use but I am interested in giving it a try. Only for audio though as I am not buying a camera. I'll probably only use the feature briefly and only with certain games.

I'm hoping that Switch 2 will be successful enough in the first 1-2 years of release that Nintendo will figure something out to make the actual game cards either cheaper or more enticing for third party publishers to use.

I'm willing to put up with game key cards in the short term but I feel like this is gonna be detrimental in the long term. I'd actually be alright paying a little more for Switch 2 games if it means they are fully on cart.

Great drop! Sword/Shield did not disappoint on the music front.

I personally really like "Battle! (Gym Leader)", "Battle! (Marnie)", "Battle! (Olenea)" and "Battle! (Finals)".

Thankfully, I got my pre-order with Best Buy last month because this seems to be a less than ideal process.

The performance is not good but going through Violet was the most fun I had with a Pokemon game since getting into the series in Gen. 8.

I do hope all the Pokemon games on Switch 2 will perform better.

Sounds like this is the kind of game you could kind of chip at for a couple months/years if you did eventually want to see everything.

I have been holding off on starting the game until I finish one of the couple I'm already playing but it's been hard waiting. The demo was great and I've heard nothing but good things about it so far.

I just wish they had added some of the Xenoblade icons to this batch. I personally have every single one from the NSO drops but stuff like this is good for brand awareness.

@Medic_alert I think you are right but I wonder what the better solution would have been. Only offer certain sizes and then make publishers put some of the game on cart and make the rest a download?

I've been holding off playing this or Chrono Cross because I figure I might as well wait if they are probably gonna do a HD-2D style remake. A straight port with some QoLs would be fine too tho.

Unpopular opinion but I really don't see this coming to Switch 2 unless its a very late port. I would expect 5 or RDR2 instead.

@johnedwin I'm gonna try and play Deltarune Chapter 1&2 before Switch 2's launch so maybe I'll get chapter 3&4 if that goes well. Aside from that, the only other game I want is Bravely Default HD but that's low priority.

I'm still trying to decide. I kind of feel like any Switch 2 game that is game key card is something I might as well buy from the eShop.

So far, the only one I really want is Bravely Default HD but that will probably (unfortunately) increase as more 3rd party games get announced. It's probably going to be a case by case basis.

Conversely, this means that any Switch 2 game I want that is fully on-cart is something I will definitely buy physical.

Nothing for me in May but June will be exciting:

Jokes aside, it’s a nice feature. I hid away all of the outdated betas and live service games that were tied to my account.

I linked my OLED with my Lite and it was pretty simple. This may actually give me a reason to start using my Lite for certain occasions.

Ironically, that Virtual Game Card menu seems like a superior place to re-download eShop games to your system. There's sorting options and you can also hide games.

Also, the new eShop splash screen is blinding lol.

I just knew people were going to get triggered when I heard that comment during the creators voice video lol.

This is the first NSO trial in awhile that I'll really benefit from. I was on the fence about both of these games.

@MJF What is the biggest difference between the original and 2 & 3? The multiplayer maps?

Xenoblade Chronicles. It has become one of my favorite gaming series during the Switch era.

Great news! I was surprised and disappointed that it wasn't at the Switch 2 Direct. Being able to play this portably is gonna be a lot of fun.

I'm hoping Namco will also bring over Bleach: Rebirth of Souls before too long.
