Good trailer. I was hoping they'd add something like Dread's parry mechanic to liven up the moment to moment combat but the physic abilities seem cool enough.
@AnnoyingFrenzy Daisy has only recently started appearing in the non-spin off titles so I wasn't holding my breath on her getting a movie appearance. I almost feel like Pauline has a better shot of making an appearance first. =/
@SearchingS How far are you? I was wondering about this as well but once I hit a certain part in the story Around the 5th story mission; when you start fighting under the blood moon, I noticed a drastic increase to the enemies on screen.
It's been good so far but I definitely want to see more. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to see more big third party games getting announced for Switch 2 along with other systems.
I upgraded from NSO to NSO+Expansion Pack last year. Overall it is fine but I think I'd feel it was more worth it if the content drops on NSO games was more frequent. Still waiting for Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland to be added to GBA and I have no idea what they are waiting for. GameCube has been neat but I'd still like to see it upgraded more.
@topsekret I don't think that is the reason. There is no Xbox demo either and Atlus did something like this with SMTV Vengenance where PS5 and Steam got demos but Switch 1 and Xbox did not.
Are we sure that this demo will be for Switch and Switch 2? Because other sources and the reply to the tweet are saying just Switch 2.
Anyway, people complain about late demos but I am thankful for this since I'm still on the fence. This demo will probably determine if I grab that the game on sale or at all.
@spiderman0616 I feel like this is the biggest problem for people who only acknowledge first party exclusives on the system. In that context, they "only" have Mario Kart and Donkey Kong to play.
Idk why people do this with Nintendo consoles but they do. I am personally enjoying the variety of first party and third party (wish there was a bit more but good so far) that is available + the mountain of Switch 1 games I still have.
"All those with the Switch 1 version of the game (which launched back in September), can upgrade to the Switch 2 version completely free."
Wish more publishers were doing this. I'd be fine with paying a $5-20 fee for it if it didn't mean having to rebuy the full game with no save data transfer.
Haven't played online since I got rank K a couple days after release on Season 1. Not looking forward to getting wrecked by whatever the current meta is.
@dux Yeah, TOTK has a lot of cool side characters that would make for playable characters but they'd have to either do a twist like AoC (which won't over well with fans) or give us content not tied to the story (which AoC didn't do a lot of compared to the original HW).
I imagine this is gonna be another AoC where there are several hidden unlockable characters that haven't been revealed to avoid spoilers.
Personally, I'm also hoping for some type of extra, non-story related mode that allows you to play as all the characters from AoC too. That or at least give us some TOTK characters like TOTK Link, the TOTK Sages, TOTK Purah, TOTK Paya, etc in an extra, non-story related mode.
I was a bit worried about hefty day one patch when clicking the article. The full download size is a lot easier to swallow than most of the bloated game sizes you'll see on PC and other consoles.
That said, I'm definitely gonna get this game physically.
Thanks for the interview. This is gonna be my third time buying FFVIIR but finally having a portable version is too good to pass up for me. I appreciate that they seem to be focusing on good portable performance. It feels like a lot of devs only focus on good TV mode performance while leaving the bare minimum for handheld mode which kind of defeats the purpose for me.
I haven't played Rebirth but hopefully the Switch 2 version of that and the eventual 3rd game won't have too many compromises.
Also, that Xenoblade question was bold. I wish we had gotten a more interesting answer but I appreciate Hamaguchi's honesty.
Didn't look too much at the notes to avoid spoilers but those look like some significant additional features. I don't think Hades 1 had any features to revisit story beats?
Looks good but no demo this time? Even if it was a short demo, I'd figure they would want to highlight the performance improvements compared to AoC for those on the fence.
Also, I still don't think they have shown or told us that much about the game which leads me to believe they must be holding something back to avoid spoilers.
As much as I'd like to get this day one, I'm probably gonna wait until December or January. Hopefully the internet doesn't spoil everything about the game in two weeks like usual...
Why isn't there any mention for all the little details with active Pokemon roaming around the city in non-wild zones? Like Trubbish hanging around trash cans? Groups of Fletchling flying away like actual birds if you approach them too quickly? Or Patrats and Bunnelby's just hanging out in secluded alleyways?
I'm not defending the lack of NPC movement. I'm just wondering why this wasn't brought up since its an element that does add to the city even if it could be improved. Personally, I find the Pokemon animations to be a lot more interesting.
It's also worth mentioning that there are NPCs that DO walk around. They usually can't be spoken to like the stationary NPCs and the poor draw distance kind of just makes a lot of them pop in and out of view depending on where you are. Example: There's an NPC around Saison Canal that can be seen walking with a Ekans following behind.
H-he really set the CPU to max difficulty, casually strolled through the beginning of the track discussing details but then dominated the remaining 80% of the race and came in first. The madlad.
@StewdaMegaManNerd You are right. It just feels like such a missed opportunity to me as a simple resolution bump and/or frame rate increase would be an easy way to sell this game to Switch 2 owners that didn't play the game on Switch 1.
I feel like Nintendo is just dropping the ball with this in general for Switch 1 games.
I'm really happy we got a Switch 2 port of Persona 3 Reload. I didn't enjoy my first experience with Persona 3 Portable back on PSP but the P3R demo really sold me on giving P3 another try with this version.
Hoping that Switch 2 ports for Metaphor and Persona 4 Revival also happen in the future.
@Bats1234 Glad to see I'm not the only one enjoying the side missions. I didn't care for them at all in Legends Arceus but I've been doing every single one in ZA.
Also yeah, Canari deserves her own bullet point lol.
@cylemmulo I agree, it is frustrating. I am starting to worry that if we get any more for first party games, they will be drip fed to us.
And third parties seem perfectly content with just selling new Switch 2 version at full price rather than giving us upgrades (paid or free) aside from a few expectations. =/

Re: Preview: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Is Great, But I Want To Kill One Of Its Characters
@Coalescence I'm starting to get the feeling that this is gonna be another Bayonetta 3 in terms of divisiveness with the fans. I hope not though....
Re: Random: Do You Miss Metroid Prime: Blast Ball? Don't Worry, PlayStation Has Got You Covered
Sony announcing two mobile games (this and the Horizon MMO) in a row with neither having a PS5 version sure is a choice.
Re: Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer Reveals Rosalina, Bowser Jr., And More
This does look good.
Brie Larson is an interesting pick for Rosalina. I still remember those Switch ads she did.
Re: Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer Reveals Rosalina, Bowser Jr., And More

I hope you are right though.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment
Too early to tell. I would probably be leaning towards a 7/10 atm.
The game looks great and is fun but I'm not enjoying it as much as Age of Calamity. Still only on chapter 3 so that could change.
Also, I could agree with the other comments. Having a poll like this a month after release would probably be better than a couple days after.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Zelda & Splatoon Villagers - All Compatible amiibo
Good news for me. I was interested in Mineru and Tulin as villagers but I didn't want to buy their amiibo.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A's Mega Dimension DLC Scores December Release Date
Wow, this looks cool. And December 10th is way sooner than I was expecting. I need to hurry and finish the main story.
(Also really not looking forward to the discourse this DLC will definitely bring with certain parts of the fanbase...)

Re: Nintendo: 84% Of Switch 2 Players Transitioned From The Original Switch
I got a Switch in 2017 a few months after release but Switch 2 is the first time I’ve ever purchased a game system day one.
I’m actually still a little surprised at how painless transferring all my game data from my Switch to Switch 2 was.

I'm glad sales are good. Just hope Nintendo doesn't get complacent and keeps the momentum going.
Re: Review: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment (Switch 2) - A Stunning Slice Of Musou, Worthy Of The Zelda Canon
@FishyS Given what Nintendo did with Donkey Kong, I wonder if they will release a demo in December or January for those still on the fence.

Welp, looks like I'm picking this up Thursday.
Thanks for the review!

Re: Everything Included In The Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition & Free 3.0 Update
@hbkay Probably in the minority but I prefer the resolution bump. Ideally, both would have been nice.
Re: PSA: Struggling With Luigi's Mansion's Inverted Controls? You Can 'Fix' Them On NSO
Thank you for this article. I tried playing a bit yesterday and those controls were an instant turn-off.
I'll try again and make these adjustments.
Re: Resident Evil Requiem Pre-Orders Live, Switch 2 Pro Controller And Amiibo Confirmed
Never expected the first game themed Switch 2 pro controller would be for Resident Evil.
I'm sure we'll see the "usual" complaints but it's cool to see Capcom going all in on the Switch 2 support.

Re: Rune Factory 4 Director Hopes To Bring His Next Farming Sim To Consoles
Cool that the game is getting support. I don't do anything with Kickstarter anymore but if a Switch port materializes, I'll be interested.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment?
Yes but not sure when.
I was planning to wait until the holidays but I may just get it at launch. A eShop demo would be the last push I need.
Re: Feature: "I've Been Brought Up By Final Fantasy" - Naoki Hamaguchi On Bringing The FFVII Remake Trilogy To Switch 2

Re: Kirby Air Riders Direct #2: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate it?
10/10
I'm still shocked at how much content was announced. Seems like this is going to be the best Kart racer on the system for a good while.
No Elfilin confirmation is a bummer but I'll hope show up as a secret unlockable rider.
Re: Opinion: Pokémon Legends Z-A Is The Creepiest Entry Yet, Not In A Good Way

Re: Video: Check Out Pokémon Legends: Z-A's Switch 2 Evolution In This Side-By-Side Comparison
If nothing else, I appreciate that the game at least seems optimized well enough on Switch 1 compared to how Scarlet/Violet was at launch.
I'm personally have a great time with the game on Switch 2 but I think I would still enjoy it if I had to play the Switch 1 version.
