I've been holding off playing this or Chrono Cross because I figure I might as well wait if they are probably gonna do a HD-2D style remake. A straight port with some QoLs would be fine too tho.
@johnedwin I'm gonna try and play Deltarune Chapter 1&2 before Switch 2's launch so maybe I'll get chapter 3&4 if that goes well. Aside from that, the only other game I want is Bravely Default HD but that's low priority.
I'm still trying to decide. I kind of feel like any Switch 2 game that is game key card is something I might as well buy from the eShop.
So far, the only one I really want is Bravely Default HD but that will probably (unfortunately) increase as more 3rd party games get announced. It's probably going to be a case by case basis.
Conversely, this means that any Switch 2 game I want that is fully on-cart is something I will definitely buy physical.
I linked my OLED with my Lite and it was pretty simple. This may actually give me a reason to start using my Lite for certain occasions.
Ironically, that Virtual Game Card menu seems like a superior place to re-download eShop games to your system. There's sorting options and you can also hide games.
Also, the new eShop splash screen is blinding lol.
Just the Switch 2 Carrying Case & Screen Protector.
I will buy a memory card ahead of time.
The All-In-One Carrying Case looks like something I'd want later but not at that $85 price point so maybe i'll look for a cheaper third party alternative.
Tbh, I'm interested in trying out Gamechat if I can find some people on my friends list who are also using it. Just like with work calls on Teams though, I'm fine with just audio conversations and no camera lol.
I valued amiibo as cheap mini figures over the in-game benefits in the past but I'll have to be very selective with which ones I buy going forward at these prices.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition: I spent like 20-30 hours just exploring and doing sidequests after I got my skell at the end of chapter 6 so I think it's probably time to continue the story and start chapter 7.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses: I'm on the 2nd chapter of the war phase in Crimson Flower. I will probably spend the in-game month grinding supports. I have so many recruited characters that I just use the BE students for story missions and the recruits for auxiliary maps.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna the Golden Country: I finished the first fight with Malos, and now there's dozens of sidequests in Auresco lol. I'll probably try and complete them all before continuing the main story to avoid any issues with the community level.
Mario Kart 8: Deluxe: If I end up getting Mario Kart World on Switch 2, I probably won't want to go back to MK8 afterwards so I figured I might as well get my fill now. Now that I'm playing it again, the Booster Course tracks were a lot better than I originally thought.
So $10 if the enhancements are mostly resolution and frame-rate and probably $20 if it comes with significant extra content like Kirby and Mario Party. That's reasonable to me.
You know in hindsight, if they didn’t want to make Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour a pack-in game or free, they could have made it a NSO or NSO + Expansion Pass benefit while also selling it to those who don’t have NSO.
I just struggle to imagine who is going to buy it even if it’s cheap.
@RiasGremory Yeah, I specifically meant that MKW being the most expensive launch title means I'm going to be more critical of it.
Like I love the look of it but I need to know what other content it's going to have. Free roam for example, looks cool but I'm hoping there's more to it then driving around and taking pictures.
I would also hope they are gonna do free updates rather than paid DLC if stuff is being added later but that's probably a pipe dream.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and the Switch 2 upgrade for Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma are definite purchases so far.
I’m interested in Mario Kart World but with that $80 price tag, they are really going to have to sell me on it (unless I can snag the Switch 2 + MKW bundle). I’ll hopefully know for sure after the MKW direct.
Very interested in Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch but I’ll wait for reviews. If it’s most solid performance than I’ll be double dipping on that port.
I’ll almost certainly be getting the Switch 2 upgrade for Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Never played the first Kirby Air Ride but I’m intrigued by Air Riders.
@Ploppy Yep, I remember having to use my PS3 to transfer some PSP games as they were "compatible" with Vita but could not be downloaded from the Vita's PSN.
I don't want to have to deal with any of this kind of silliness with Switch 2.
After the crapshoot that was PSP to Vita BC (only digital PSP games worked; publishers were also allowed to restrict access like Sega with Phantasy Star Portable 1 & 2), I would have been very worried about software based emulation but thankfully there aren't that many games listed as having issues on the Switch 2 compatibility pages.
Wasn't perfect but there was a lot of stuff that appealed to me like Gamecube games on NSO, the new Daemon x Machina and lots of nice 3rd party annoucements.
I'm not a huge fan of these prices but they (currently) aren't a dealbreaker either.
I'm gonna try and get a Switch 2 and Mario Kart World at launch.
Nintendo is really gonna need to get the message on this right because its currently making a lot of people upset even though it doesn't seem to apply to every game.
I was worried about $70 but I never expected them to be $80. =/
I might be able to stomach these prices but there better not be any microtransactions. I expect Nintendo games will still get DLC expansion passes but I hope stuff like Mario Kart won't if they are charging $80 for it.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 6 Has Been Delayed And Will Now Launch In May 2026
Unpopular opinion but I really don't see this coming to Switch 2 unless its a very late port. I would expect 5 or RDR2 instead.

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games And Accessories For May And June 2025
Nothing for me in May but June will be exciting:
Switch 2
Mario Kart World
Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma
And maybe Cyperpunk 2077 if I can't wait.
Re: Switch Online Teases Four Mystery Game Trial Surprises (Japan)
Love the bait and switch in the beginning of that trailer lol
Re: You Can Now Hide Those Naughty Hentai Games On Switch
@Hee-ho-master The bait for clicks couldn’t be more obvious.
=p
Re: You Can Now Hide Those Naughty Hentai Games On Switch
This absolutely won’t stop me from playing Bunny Garden on main. 😎
Jokes aside, it’s a nice feature. I hid away all of the outdated betas and live service games that were tied to my account.

I just knew people were going to get triggered when I heard that comment during the creators voice video lol.
Re: Two Retro Star Wars Games Will Be Free To Play Via Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial (US)
This is the first NSO trial in awhile that I'll really benefit from. I was on the fence about both of these games.
Re: Talking Point: Which Nintendo Series Are You Most Excited To See Return On Switch 2?
@MJF What is the biggest difference between the original and 2 & 3? The multiplayer maps?
Re: Talking Point: Which Nintendo Series Are You Most Excited To See Return On Switch 2?
Xenoblade Chronicles. It has become one of my favorite gaming series during the Switch era.
Other series I'm looking forward to seeing on Switch 2:
Zelda
Fire Emblem
Splatoon
Kirby
Metroid
Re: Random: Switch 2 Exclusives Join Famitsu's "Most Wanted" Games Chart For The First Time
Rune Factory is in the top 5? I hope it does really well.

@KJW90 Cool, I'll take it then! 😈

Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Has Been Rated For Switch 2
Great news! I was surprised and disappointed that it wasn't at the Switch 2 Direct. Being able to play this portably is gonna be a lot of fun.
I'm hoping Namco will also bring over Bleach: Rebirth of Souls before too long.
Re: Poll: Which Switch 2 Accessories Are You Picking Up At Launch?

Re: Poll: So, Did You Manage To Get A Switch 2 Pre-Order In? (North America)
@mwatcher Really? I was considering them. Was it online or did you have to pre-order in person?
Re: Poll: So, Did You Manage To Get A Switch 2 Pre-Order In? (North America)
I did!
I sat in queue for 2 hours but I was able to get a copy from Best Buy.
Re: Nintendo Download: 24th April (North America)
No downloads for me but I will be picking up a physical copy of The Hundred Line - Last Defense Academy during my lunch break.
I think that is the last game I have on my radar until Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma and Mario Kart World come out.

Re: Switch 2 'Welcome Tour' Estimated File Size Revealed By Nintendo
@Bigmanfan I'd try it out if it were pack-in or a NSO benefit.
Re: Diablo 4 On Switch 2? It's "Something To Look At" Says Series Manager
Good for those interested I guess.
That awful cash shop it has guaranteed no purchase ever from me.
Re: Feature: 27 GameCube Games We'd Love To See On Nintendo Switch 2 NSO
I never owned a GameCube so pretty much anything they add is going to be good for me.
Re: Review: The Hundred Line - Last Defense Academy (Switch) - An Addictive VN & Tactics Blend With Notes Of Persona
Happy to see this is being received well. Had a great time with the demo so looking forward to the full game later this week.
Re: amiibo Could Be Getting A Price Hike, According To GameStop Listings (US)
I valued amiibo as cheap mini figures over the in-game benefits in the past but I'll have to be very selective with which ones I buy going forward at these prices.
From the new TOTK batch, I'll just get Riju.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 US Pre-Orders Start 24th April, System & Launch Game Pricing Unchanged
Gonna try and snag a Switch 2 + MKW bundle from Best Buy with in-store pickup. If Best Buy doesn't pan out, I'll aim for GameStop or Costco.
Glad we aren't getting a delay or price increase on the console itself.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th April (North America)
I bought LunarLux on Steam a few years ago but held off on continuing my playthrough when I saw it was coming to Switch.
Had no idea the Switch version was out until I checked the eShop today so I just went ahead and bought it.
I also ordered a copy of LUNAR Remastered Collection from Amazon since it's finally available for the US.

@Zeebor15 How are rentals affected by changes with Switch 2?
Re: 126 Games You Should Pick Up In Nintendo's 'Partner Spotlight' eShop Sale (North America)
I ended up grabbing Grandia HD.
Re: Marathon Isn't Currently Planned For Switch 2, Unsurprisingly
We already have Marathon at home on Switch 1. It's called Apex Legends.
=p
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (12th April)
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition: I spent like 20-30 hours just exploring and doing sidequests after I got my skell at the end of chapter 6 so I think it's probably time to continue the story and start chapter 7.

Re: Nintendo Says "Nothing Bad" Will Happen If You Press Switch 2's C Button Without A NSO Sub
Re: "We MUST Resist Buying These Game-Key Releases", Says GamesMaster Host
Jeez, when did Duskbloods get announced as a Game Key Card release? We barely know anything else about the game as is.
I would much prefer to have all these games on cart but if Switch 2 carts are more expensive, I don't know what the better solution is atm.
Re: Review: Star Overdrive (Switch) - Uneven But Ambitious Open-World Hoverboarding
Nice to see this turned out decent. I hope to get it at some point this year; especially since there is a physical release for the US.
The demo was rough around the edges for but fun overall.
Re: Nintendo Confirms US Price For 'Switch 2 Welcome Tour'
I think they would be better suited making this a NSO or NSO+Expansion Pass benefit if they didn't want to make it free or a pack-in title.
For $10, I'd rather just buy one of those Switch 2 edition upgrades or another game.
Re: Upgrade Pack Price For Zelda: BOTW And TOTK Has Been Confirmed

Wow, this blows.
I was already planning out how I'd attempt to get a pre-order next week. 😭
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Game Upgrade Pack Prices Seemingly Revealed (Japan)
I would have preferred $10 but $20 is better than the $30 I was fearing might happen.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Game Upgrade Pack Prices Seemingly Revealed (Japan)
@SearchingS Yeah. I also really wanted a new Trial of the Sword and fully powered Master Sword in TOTK.

This looks great. Probably one of the best games from the Direct for me.
