@Sylamp I don't see why they'd need to ask the question if they were not looking to make some money out of it. They're asking fans, so people who already own the game. These people don't work for free and would not ask fans "oh do you want us to this thing for free for you guys?". There's no Nintendo policy to force them to do so apparently, but if it's not gonna cost you anything, why do you have to ask if you should do it, just do it!
And by the way PS5 upgrades of PS4 games were not always free. Some were, others were like $10. XBox Series S/X was kind of the exception where I think most if not all the games that got a series S/X upgrade from XBox One were free.
If it's already 60FPS, on this kind of game especially do we really need it? I mean it would be a nice thing to have for the fans but... to ask them to cash out for it? I'm not so certain.
@Mushvision I figure I'll just get one when my internal storage starts feeling too cramped. I buy physical anyway unless it's a game I absolutely have to get and which I know I'll have an absolute blast with.
By that time, I hope prices will have gone down a bit.
@Mushvision Same. the 1TB is out of stock absolutely everywhere I looked and I just don't trust those AliExpress listings, too tempting but also seems too cheap to be true.
EDIT: I take that back I found them in one place in stock in my own country but... €359.95 is just too expensive for that thing when MSRP elsewhere is supposed to be $199 or £199 (though I guess you have to remember US prices are BEFORE taxes, which is always misleading to the rest of the world).
Everything went smoothly for me, got the link, and didn't have to wait more than 30 seconds to be let in (the MyNintendo Store for my country in Belgium is probably not as crowded though mind you owing to us being a much smaller country). I even had to go back and put in a second order an hour later for the Gamecube controller and the Pro controller cause I forgot the first time around lol.
I didn't preorder Mario Kart World physical from them though. It's €20 cheaper from Amazon for the exact same thing (€69 vs €89)
If this was true then how are we getting faster load times in those Zelda games? The max read speeds on OG Switch cards should not allow for that... Unless those Switch 2 editions have to install to the internal memory of your Switch 2 (or SD express card I guess) but that would be pretty stupid doing that instead of selling the actual Switch 2 version already patched, on the card, surely?
I'll wait to hear about the technical differences I think, but bought mine not one month ago, I don't think I'll double dip. Heck i don't even know when I'll have the time to play the one I bought so, hard to justify for me
With the controllers on Switch 1 being "updateable" through the system OS I always wondered if it wouldn't be possible to add audio in/out capability to at least the pro controller's usb-c port. You could use a usb-c headset or a usb-c to 3.5mm jack adapter for that I guess?
But maybe the specs they used on the controller side wouldn't have allowed for that (like bluetooth radio bandwidth not being able to support that in addition to its basic controller functionality) or whatever circuitry they have in there not being tailored to decode/encode audio coming in and out over bluetooth to begin with.
If the Switch 2 dock has an ethernet port, i'm going wired when docked anyway.
My current launch period Switch 1 dock didn't have that and God is Internet or just the downloading of patches, software and updates slow on this thing, in addition to WiFi range being piss poor to begin with.
Could be wrong but I believe it's already confirmed that the Switch 2 will have the built in ethernet port in the dock, just like I think the Switch 1 OLED model dock has one already (don't have one but from memory I believe it does).
"SNES-based enhancements were possible originally through the Super Game Boy, although those are unsupported in the VC and NSO releases. These included an awesome border around the screen resembling an arcade cabinet, colour graphics, changing Pauline's digitised yelps to actual screams of "Help!", and even upgrading the credits music to SNES quality."
This! Fans can do it on PC with Higan, why can't Nintendo do it?
To me the 3DS remake broke some things that were best left untouched. But it's the better looking version and still has some QOL improvements tat make it worth it. I wish w culdhave an HED version of that that simply fixes some of the 3DS changes back to what it originally was like.
Maybe the new PC decompilation project can do that. The OoT one did allow to play with the 3DS graphics (with mods), so I hope it will be the same for MM.
The Japanese physical won't update to include English. Damn, i'm so disgusted by this. If you're gonna release these physically in the west, announce it sooner, I got the Japanese copy thinking it would never come to the west, it's been almost two years for crying out loud.
EDIT: I guess it comes out on the 7th huh, I'll check again on the update front at that time, but won't hold my breath.
Just beat Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake. I'm back to playing Minecraft now for the rest of the year until I get started on Hogwarts Legacy on PC next week.

I wanna yell at their face at Capcom for ***** us about their "commitment to physical releases" and yet again refusing to release this collection physically in all regions. Had to import again at a premium. You lied Capcom... shame on you!
Haven't really seen any advertisement that it exists to be honest.
Thinking back to DQXI S, Nintendo of Europe was behind them, publishing and advertising it. In this case it's a multiplatform release, so Nintendo isn't there helping things along, that could be "a" reason for it not to sell just as well...
For me it's the old man that you need to save by sucking up a ghost. You can permanently miss that and be locked out of completing the game 100% unless you know about it in advance and are extremely careful not to progress th story too far.
UGH! These people and their rules. It's BS! You voluntarily want people to NOT promote your game for you, what is wrong with you? If I gotta follow those rules or else my channel gets deleted or summat, you can bet I'm not gonna stream it!
I ordered the pins along with a few other things, since I had a whole bunch of silver coins that were about to expire (a Tears of the Kingdom glow in the dark keychain).
Those pins are probably going to end up on my backpack.
So those discounts will be on Halloween then? Cause I still see RE4 Remake not discounted on Steam (and I've been waiting for decent discount to get it).
Well they just lost my purchase by going Limited Run Games, unless I can find it at a separate retailer down the road but I can't promise I'll still remember that this game exists by then (the Switch library is just too big, which is a good problem for Nintendo to have I'm sure).
@HammerGalladeBro I believe he did play it on GameCenter CX actually, way back in the day.
Big Run is a game one of my friends had as an import back in the day, I have very fond memories of it for what it was at the time. The local travelling funfair had the sitdown arcade machine of it too, I'll never forget it.
@Ryu_Niiyama I've never seen drift on any of the OGs, nor heard that they could drift at all. But maybe the newer ones released in the Wii U and Switch era for Smash players have the kind of modern stick technology that is susceptible to drift? idk...
I'll be double dipping if we can finally get a proper physical release (no limited run nonsense) for... i guess this'll be for Switch 2, not Switch 1. Not buying again for a visual overhaul if I can't have it proudly displayed on my shelf along with it.
Crazy Taxi just doesn't hit the same without The Offspring and Bad Religion :/ Sure hope it comes with a banger soundtrack if and when it does release.
@the_beaver The demo they recently put up shows those framerate drops are still there, just as much as before.
Having played through the entire game though, I can say they really don't get in the way of the enjoyment. It stays at or close to 60 most of the time and really dips down to the 40s (i'm eyeballing it, not an accurate measure) when things get busier on screen.
Depends on the specs. The extrapolated specs of the rumoured Tegra chip do not make me want to spend 500 on it though. If it's anything Ampere based as rumoured with low core count and downclocked further for battery life, then it won't be worth 500.
If it's anything fancier, like with a decent vapour chamber cooling system (these have been in smartphones long enough and deserve to be in portable consoles) and beefy battery to let the chip stretch its legs in portable mode and anything UFS 3.1 or above for internal storage (to ensure competent loading times), then yeah, that could be worth 500. But if they skimp on anything like Nintendo has done the past generations of consoles (like using eMMC for storage in the Switch) then 400 sounds more reasonable.
