My ideal dream switch successor would have cart slots for switch and one for 3ds/ds with a decent way to handle dual screen issue but that ain't likely.
Xbox all xbox one downloads carried over and some backwards compatible games bought on 360 too.
Playstation ps4 games carried over to ps5. Some have an upgrade feature which can be free or paid depending on title. Some odd previously purchased ,ps2, psp and ps1 games providing they are on their classic catalogue which is very few at present.
Nothing for ps3 games. You can only stream them with paid membership
Wii to wii u had the system transfer than the vc had the discounted "upgrade"option.
Switches successor better have backwards compatibility at this point. Like wii u and switch were so different and Nintendo so behind on online features I accepted it but now there's no real excuse.
I think the problem with their thinking is the seem to break the gaming market up too much. Like might scratch different itches and niches etc but it's all gaming. Like xbox and playstation are competing with PC, Switch and even likes of line blurring Steam Decks. Yes the most direct competition is each other but it's all gaming
I don't get people arguing it's a remake and therefore not worth the price of a new game It's not like they can just put the snes game into somekinda switch upscaler machine.
It was amazing how much this rumour kept being reported at the time. Like I got sick of hearing about it. The video does show how much alot of "leakers" are just guessing so when they get something right they can use that to make people believe their next claim and go back and delete old incorrect tweets etc
Sonic 4 wasn't great on release in its two parts with third paet being cancelled. Going back to it recently its aged badly very junky controls and collusion detection etc
@ATaco think of it this way I could buy Mario's latest game or I could go download sunshine and galaxy.
If I choose the former Nintendo loses a potential sale.
Those two examples Nintendo released on switch briefly, and other games may be released in future think of recent advance wars remake.
Nintendo as a company doesn't want it products to be available for free as it devalues them and can affect future plans.
We don't know Nintendos plans either maybe a gamecube mini or its coming to nso or twilight princess is planned for a remaster etc.
They don't want new releases competing with their old ones for free and they want to control how and when they release products.
It's a bit like the old disney vault system attitude
Another case of someone pushing the matter well beyond Nintendos line in the sand. (Admittedly they are way less tolerable, more protective and proactive that alot of other companies but i cant imagine Sony allowing a ps2 emulator either or sega allowing it to effect its mega drive cash cow ) but who actually thought putting it up on likes of Steam would go unchallenged.
Twin snakes is good just different from the original due to alot of changes but I don't think it will come back. Collection could come to Switch but snake eater I suspect won't leave ps5 (presumably Sony paid for at least timed exclusivity)
During the Ps4 era Sony seemed unstoppable and hit all the right notes with gamers. Ps5 era Sony seems to be out of ideas, arrogant and almost spiteful to gamers. Sure actually increased the prices of its console without even the smoke screen of a redesign.
Persona and Bayonetta are the only games I'd consider at full price from Sega now (by way of Atlus and Platinum)
Sonic games since forces ive learned to just wait for a sale in 3 to 4 weeks time, Yakusa and monkey ball etc gamepass/plus or a maybe particular big sale.
Nothing much else really from Sega interests me anymore
@TruthisRare you really need to actually read what people say rather than going on the same rants.
Microsoft don't have a problem with that cause they aren't pirating games you are, whether you think it or not mate you are breaking the law.
@TruthisRare thats not what @Rooty wrote and you can callout piracy (which let's call a spade a spade here, is what you're engaging in and promoting unless of course you already own a legitimate copy of all those games which would then be perfectly legitimate ) without supporting every policy decision Nintendo ever made. It's not one or the other.
You prefer Nintendo make them available to buy rather than stream fine that's your opinion and while many will agree it doesn't make Nintendo evil for not doing it or make piracy suddenly perfectly legal.
Regardless i suspect most of us consider it morally okay for people emulating games which just aren't available to play anymore at all but let's stop pretending if every nintendo game was put on eshop that your emalating right now you would rush to buy them all before every touching the emulated ones again.
Seriously wonder if the Wii U spooked nintendo so bad that feels can't release either a switch successor or proper upgrade. Going have to happen sooner than latter. Nintendo makes some ambitious games but they are somewhat chained by the switches old hardware at this stage.
Yeah I'm sure there's one or two surprises yet to come but Switch is getting old as its over 6 years now since launch and its was never had high specs. Third parties have moved on to ps5 and xbox series development so switch support is slowly drying up.
I know it's a big franchise but they are obsessed with CoD. Anyone else get the feeling microsoft could have bought nintendo, sega and capcom and these regulators wouldn't have cared much (like every other big acquisition the last decade eg Bethesda) I suspect they pay attention when it's CoD, fifa, GTA or Fortnite only.
I find my self torn as fewer companies is rarely a good thing however sonys arguments have been ridiculous including exclusives are bad. So whens the last of us out on switch and xbox Sony?
Gave it a 9 as I love advance wars and it's a real joy to play them again.
Only problem I have is muliplayer is too limited and that's the one area they dropped the ball.
Art style was bit odd at first but few missions in it clicks.
Not sure why people are complaining about VA as it's about standard usage for these games ie characters outside cutscenes say things like look, hey or commander followed by walls of text.
Most dialogue I'm skipping over any way as it's alot of what's an airport, and x is doing y let's stop them.
Happy for it. Personally thought it was just the on the good side of decent not great, apart from jack black nailing every scene he was in. Though it's a huge hit with my friends kids and in fairness it's very much geared to the under 13 crowd. I Personally feel it was a 3 out of 5 stars unless you're young in which case it's 5. Also before people complain that I'm not giving it an amazing score in my mid 30s, I loved films as a kid and teenager that critics hated. I was right to enjoy them and critics weren't wrong about their flaws I just never cared.
Almost 50% through advance wars 1 now. Was unsure of the new arr style at first but few missions in it clicked. The board game look of the map I'd actually forgotten until reading these.
Very few other changes (like yellow comet is now called gold comet understandably, though my brain always wants to say golden comet)
Only criticism I have are multiplayer could been handled better
@Don it did indeed and then became gameboy wars but the series has had a strange run in japan since it was introduced to the west. The original was delayed there possibly not to compete with gamboy wars 3 which was released at a similiar time. Eventually advance wars was eventually released there as 1 and 2 double pack. Days of ruin wasn't released in stores over there either but instead was a club nintendo reward for 3ds years later. Only dual strike I believe had a no issues launching there.
You put siily values on cards and yeah going be fakers, thieves and people in the supply chain intercepting rare cards from reaching consumers.
Sure places have been robbed for cards alone in recent years
This is the best kind of addition to NSO a game more or less unplayable until now. (Well easily at least) As its not one of the constantly released ones in megadrive collections
Damages are what a Judge has determined as the amount his actions in breaking the law cost Nintendo, not what he actually made doing so. Which seems to arround 300k or so. He broke the law and wasn't a small fish doing it, realistically he was never going be able to pay back the damages in full in his lifetime but that's not the point, it's meant to reflect the damage he did and yes it's punitive by its nature. But that's what laws are, some people only obey them because they know there's a punishment for not.
@Snatcher the originals were very good games on the GBA and had sequels on the Ds one was very similar the other one had completely different art style and tone. They were very good but you have to be interested in turn based strategy games to enjoy them eg likes of Fire emblem, Final fantasy tactics and Wargroove. Outside of nintendo circles the series isn't hugely known and has been dormant for over a decade now so I wouldn't expect alot of general ducussion outside nintendo sites.

It's an interesting point as we now have games like the last of us ( part 1) being remastered/remade from Ps3, ps4 and now ps5. So it's become more of an issue (though say 98% of gamers don't notice or care tbh)
When can credits be left out or can we just say thanks to the original team as a collective special thanks credit.
Who needs to be credited in a remaster vs a remake and what's the definition separating the two.(like an agreed industry definition rather than an opinion)
Until its standardised across video games as a industry which will require unions/collective representation etc most likely, theres no right answer here. The industry as a whole needs to sort it out.
Free to play games have a place and are clearly quite popular otherwise they would all die out entirely. And whole argument physical vs digital well I prefer to have physical but if its 60 physical and 20 digital on sale or because its no longer being made I'm going digital. Also if you like physical grand but stop pretending your superior to someone else that goes digital they both have pros and cons and most of us are mixing them.
Considering how long ago the option to add funds on wii u and 3ds natively has been gone in Europe I can't see a need for this. Last 3 years any purchases I made on them were viia topping up first other switch
@Rambler thanks but I'm in Republic of Ireland which since brexit makes ebay buying from the UK a nightmare of whether custom duty will apply or not. Been burnt before.

Yeah this thing is going cost as much as Steam deck and be a tenth as useful. Big wii u vibes.
At best this is an extremely niche product.
I enjoy playing switch on couch but the ps5 and series x graphics I prefer on a big screen.
