@Yoshi3 yeah the biggest improvement in the sequel was dumping the overused licensed songs.

@SBandy1 apart from the difference in the size of the install base Re9 is not as technically impressive on the Switch 2 vs ps5 / pc. So people with both might be less likely to buy on Switch 2

Although having just finished it on Switch 2 yesterday it's incredibly impressive performance wise, geniuely surprised me how smooth an experience it was, ok the hair physics aren't up there with ps5 but didn't matter to me while playing.
I played it docked the whole time so can't speak to handheld mode.

A huge percentage of that list is Nintendo and Capcom.

Just for the record I enjoy a good story mode in an MK game, unfortunately compared to 9, x and 11 this one started promising than just got so unimaginative and bland very quickly.

In relation to people saying they should have just renewed the licence, it possibly may be the case the Olympics just simply said no to renewing it.

I wonder if something in the contract prevented Sega from giving a delisting warning as they would have got some last minute digital sakes had they pointed it out I'm advance.

Yikes Resident Evil Requiem on Switch 2 outselling the Xbox release is surely a win for Nintendo and a very worrying sign for the Xbox brand

Have it on Switch 2 myself and it runs great even though I had my concerns before I bought it

Got excited when I noticed the little letter icon appear but subsequently was left going another mario theme meh.

Metroid, Starfox,F Zero, Fire Emblem, Chibi Robo, Donkey Kong, Polemon, Kid Icreus give us something other than the 4th mario themed one.

Always should hVe been the case as digital saves alot of costs compared to physical so savings should be passed on.

Will it make physical less attractive yup but physical game sales are in the minority now anyway so it's happening with or without the price cut.

I'd always say start with RE2 remake if you like more traditional Re action.
You could also jump into the 4 remake but 2s a nice introduction to alot of the series lore etc and the best remake I think so far.

Re7 if you just prefer a more horror survival style.

Wouldn't recommend remake of 1 or RE0 as they are too dated if you aren't already into clunky tank controls and inventory nonsense.

In fairness coming from the Wii U days to the massive success of switch 1 I doubt they thought much about preventing the slop and it hit new highs on switch 1. So makes sense to try and fix it now.

90% filler 10% killer. Gen 10 and Gale of Darkness were only announcements that were something actually new , we'll that and whatever yhe music player gameboy was.

Have my original one ambassador and 3ds xl which in retrospect was my least used one and really worth it as was another one.
New 3ds which became my main (I kinda regret not getting an xl one but it's a sleek white one with nintendo logo in japanese so its nice but at time there was no xl one offered until later)
Lastly picked up a 2ds xl when stores where had them in clearance sakes.

The more I think about it the less sense it makes to release these on NSO.

1-it limits your market to those on or willing to join NSO and pokemons fan base is huge.
2-NSO features like the save states would "ruin" the developers intention of the gameplay.
3- compatability with pokemon home may have been technically difficult if it was on the NSO app.
4- People would be upset if they lost access to their pokemon collected when their NSO expired.
5- It's a big anniversary of Pokemon so this feels more collectable and marketable also amefreak may have been unwilling to take a simply fee for it being on NSO.

It's a solid game but it hooked me less than mario kart did. I think it's the weapons and tracks just aren't as much fun for me.

Also I wish it went more in the direction of all stars with lots of sega franchises being represented Instead it's like 95% sinic characters which frankly is much less unique.

Plus all their dlc stuff was a bit off putting.

The RAM shortage and price hikes are 100% going hit all gamers. Likes of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo will/are passing on some of the increase to gamers.

Nividas already cutting gaming GPU production because AI nonsense will buy up their products for way more profit.

Tarrifs and the overal economic uncertainty aren't helping.

Brick and mortar video game chain stores are going be gone soon.

Its only tech shops, toy shops and few independent specialists stores only now in my country that physically sell games in stores. Game closed decades ago, gamestop also closed like 4 years ago and all the other smaller franchises were eaten by Gamestop.

There's still some cool retro game stores but I'm gone from 10 options on where to buy a new game in store to one solid choice and 2 they might have latest releases only for like a month or two stores.

Loved this game was forst fire emblemi owned and it and Shadow dragon are actually the only two fire emblem games I have actually finished entirely.

It's not really a game so I don't think it's worse when I knew what I was buying.

Versus dropping 70 on something that I had regret over purchasing because was advertised as a good game.

New N64 games are always welcome. I'd love to see Star Wars Rogue Squadron at some stage.

So far it's a solid 9 though I'm still in the pre desert stage belive im just about finished the first area as done the boss and returned to base camp.

I know the desert is the big gripe most have.

I get why Marion Kart 8 is better on Switch due to its improvements and dlc etc than it was on wii u but anyone else find it strange it's Wind Waker on GCN but not the superior Wii U version but then it's Metroid Prime on Switch not GCN. Arguably things like SMB3 on gba is better than original on NES too.

I'm interested in this game but when I looked into buying it I found out its 70 euro here (which funnily is the price MK world also is in physical stores here).

I got burned badly on team sonic racing which dropped its price by almost 50% in some places a month after release so I'm waiting.

One thing that hit me looking at the breakdown of sales by platform for multi platform games Xbox is really struggling.

Eg NBA 2K26, EA Sports FC 25/26 and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

I'd prefer healthy direct competition so that they all need to win over customers, as its better for consumers.

Nintendo clearly said it wasn't 100% compatible but they have gotten very close and continue to proved fixes for games with issues

Some folkes in this comment thread clearly don't understand what emulation actually is and seem to confuse it with including the previous consoles native hardware in the new system to run games instead.Even when others have pointed out the difference between the two approaches.

Interesting to see Yoshi Island and Wario Land don't count, it makes sense but they originally where keen to have them be part of the series.

@datamonkey I think they are going off Japanese release dates so it's there later under the Japanese name of Super Mario USA.

Though confusingly the lost levels is the western title of that game, I guess the list avoids calling either of them super mario 2.

Sure I played it first in the early 90s as a small kid and only really beat it this year on NSO.

I've recently tired to clear a number of games I owned but couldn't beat as a kid including this, SMB 3, Ninja Gaiden (admittedly with heavy usage of save slots) and Castlevannia 2 Simons Quest, I never could work out what to do in it as a kid.

Nope like leave that to Nintendo.

Playstations strengths are a big powerful cutting edge console and sonys massively impressive and expensive to develop games.

Any kinda hybrid is going compromise on this.

@Ulysses the N64 and Gamecube weren't extactly rich in third party releases.

Some of the decent third party stuff will be caught up in IP and licensing issues too I'm afraid eg the simpsons hit and run.

Others like Baten Kaitos,Tales of Symphonia, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Resident Evil 4 have versions out already on Switch so I'm not sure how many will actually come to NSO. Hopefully Sega and Capcom will put their titles on NSO.

Been on my backlog list since I got a copy of it a few years ago. This makes trying it out so much easier.

Like what Mario Kart game had more of a single player experience than World? Got knock out mode and the missions. More characters and outfits to unlock than any other console MK. Only MAk 8 deluxe with all the booster packs cups has more cups. DS had a few boss missions that's all I can think of.

Surely some of those replaced faulty units under warranty, were gifted away, display units, broken in transit , bad batch etc it's a bit silly to think every one made was a sale..

We don't add the red ringed Xbox 360s that were replaced as separate sales.

It's a pretty decent but not great game. There's times I was really enjoying it which were balanced against the typical stale Ubisoft open world game design bloat.

In the end I stopped playing it as was fed up of side quest after side quest.

Surely if he felt it had to be yellow could he not just 3d print a yellow cart case and switch the important parts.

Its needed now that almost all of the greater launch area games are out like DK (or almost all here). So what do they have this year announced atm Drag x Drive in August, Metrod Unknown 2025 and Pokeman Z A October.

There's the obvious question of the whens Mario's first non kart game coming out, any truth to all the fire emblem rumours and will there ever be another F Zero or Starfix?lplus will Switch 2 see its own Smash bros?

We won't get everything of course but feels like the end of the year needs a big release and something needs to fill the September gap.

@HeadPirate very good point the internet definitely cares far too much about things like this (the average gamer will probably never notice or care tbh) and often leads to campaigns of intimidation against the replacement va whose only taking a promising job offer.

@Ryu_Niiyama sama is mostly used by customer service or client service jobs these days. So call a customer service number and they will use it. It's kinda similar to how modern English users say sir or madam in similar settings. San is the generally used honorific 90% of the time.

Like Ideally yeah I'd like 100% physical plays off cart and saves me memory storage space. (Dies cost me physical storage space though) but not at any price point.

I buy digital when it's cheaper as I'm not willing to fork out more than a tenner usually in difference between the two.

It seems to me that game carts with game fully on them will be far more expensive than on switch 1 (if not now soon enough) but I also want to avoid an eshop monopoly where can never get a good deal from a store. Game carts at least keep that level of competition.

I'm enjoying the Switch 2 alot but my biggest dissappoint with it isn't the console itself it's the lack of a new big single player experience.

Mario kart while great in multiplayer, in single player is a bit of a 30-50min play session or so for me before I've had my fill of it for the day.

There's ports and Switch 2 editions but there's no big brand new single player gane yet.
