Too many underdeveloped sonic games released too close together that are mostly average games.

They never stick with any formula long enough to properly improve it.

Yikes I've been collecting these for ages now, must be close to a decade . Moved 3-4 times changed jobs twice. Finally completion is at hand. Presumably amiibo also will fade away too (I know other series but smash was the consistent line, zelda ones etc popped up when game released than stopped)

It's amazing how Metroid both dread and Prime, Baynotta, astral chain , Mario Rpg , Shin megami tensi , xenolade and pikmin entries are all beaten by likes of switch sports, clubhouse games and ew 1 2 switch

These games do have problems and I've come across plenty of them while playing them but I feel they are somewhat overblown in severity vs my actual enjoyment playing it.

That said I feel the franchise deserves more care and polish and frankly talent than gamefreak can ever provide.

Regardless of whether Switch 2 or N 11 is coming this year they aren't going to say it in a report before they actually have a big show off of the system. Otherwise they are telling customers the switch is almost dead don't buy it but also we got nothing else to sell atm.

I'm sure it will be something like hifi rush on all platforms, probably starfield on playstation,something about next call of duty, a general desire to bring gamepass to the world and maybe few older games heading to switch.

I was a sonic fan during the megadrive days and I've never counted sonic 3 and knuckles as one game due to the fact that sega while indeeding it to be one gsme during development then decided to split it in two so they could charge twice for it. A practice it continued on wii virtual console and the xbox 360 etc.
So if it's not sold as one game it isn't one game in my head. I had sonic and knuckles for years before I finally got 3 on the megadrive.

Whatever about Palworld this one's definitely trying to pass itself off as a pokemon game

Basically all that's saying is Nintendo has a hard act to follow and they think it probably won't be as much of a run away success as the Switch was.
In fairness after a big success it's hard to follow it up again when so much of the equation was the right things at the right time.
Not saying Switch 2 will be a failure but they are betting it won't top the switchs success.

The best thing about the subspace emissary was the cutscenes that half told a vague story without any dialogue, the worst part was its actual Gameplay.

Like these are legitimate releases, I'm sure you have to actually get all the right holders to agree that it can go up on NSO . Like all them Sega games didn't go up without an agreement with Sega that they could and I'm sure some sort of payment deal was agreed.

Depends on what kind of storage it uses and how easily expanable it is, like if it's sd cards again I've few of them knocking about that wouldn't necessarily want to be paying more for more internal storage.
If it's an ssd you'd hope for about 500-800gb actually useable. Those xbox expansion cards are great in practice but so pricey

@DennisReynolds aw that takes me back to the days of regretting which version of street fighter 2 I had because it didn't have the bosses playable or the new challengers etc.

So they only got 30 seconds? That's ridiculously low. You have 90 seconds tokick fir the conversion in rugby.

Surely 2and a half to 3mins max would be enough time for it and to keep show moving.

Weridly missing Smash Bros and DK 64 atm.
Hopefully get Perfect Dark and Diddy Kong racing.
Love to see Rogue squadron and Shadows of the empire too. (Even if Shadows platforming parts were very dodgy)They are very much big N64 games in my head. Shadows was even advertised on the box of the N64.

Too expensive, not what most people wanted the mix of 2d and 3d looks and simply just not good enough to compete with heavy hitters in its release window.

I think it needs a glow up remaster so that it looks like I think it looks like in my head until I play it. Gameplay has mostly aged well as long as the water temple is sorted out a bit.

Voice actors and actors shouldn't cross over in general. Two separate skill sets and I feel few people possess both.

Never really played the original as it skipped my region until VC. Tired it once or twice but never stayed with it long enough for it to click so looking forward to the modern remake which I'm way more likely to actually play tbh.

Sony isn't just playstation and frequently doesn't see Nintendo as direct competition to the playstation vs the direct threat of Xbox.

The whole cd things long in the past and sure they are both japanese companies so it makes sense. Also if there's money to be made for both then they will do it.

I'm mainly nintendo but I've an xbox . Use it for gamepass and some bigger non switch titles.

That said I'm kinda sick of this MS jargon . Clearly they want to be this huge service provider rather than a console maker.
I'd prefer you'd actually go concrete on your consoles and making games.

Yeah that opportunity passed years ago. Sonics had tons of poor games and worse decisions since the megadrive days.
Like even straight forward potential wins like the origins collection were tainted by segas awful decisions, with that chart of what was missing from each version and adding the screen crunched game gear games instead of master system versions.

@arekdougy the other two gameboy games are being sold as part of the castlevania collection. This one was left out as apparently its not considered canon anymore.

People "the roll out of n64 games is too slow", me yup just like in the actual n64 days when releases were few and far between.

No interest in it but this and Metal Gear collection really shows that for all the physical vs digital articles etc there really isn't actually much physical these days

And 99% of nintendo gamers shrugged their shoulders and continued to have zero interest in these competitive scenes until their inevitable next round of scandals are reported.

@Vexx234 wasn't mad about the action hero ones myself. Horror worked. Honestly I'd prefer all just MK characters or some reps from other fighting games like Street fighter, tekken, soul calbur etc. Maybe not likes of Ryu and Chun li if too violent but say Vega and Akuma etc

Not really excited about these dlc picks myself as very superhero( well villians/anti heroes) focused I'd prefer to see them in an injustice game rather than mortal kombat tbh

Tbh it thought this had already happened with eshop closure which I cared alot more about.
Im not happy about it but im more indifferent at this stage. Only used either systems for one player since switch launched.

I'm not sure why people except Gaming companies to support consoles 7 years + after their replacement unless there's actually money in it for them. Every other product I own seemingly has support abandoned 2-4 years after launching a successor.

I think it's possible we might get this or twilight princess in the last year of the switch.

Capcom wouldn't gain anything from the buy out (other than the money) and would probably clash alot with Microsofts culture. The whole east v west game development cultural clash.
If Microsoft can buy anyone outside the west I'd think It would be Sega.
But in long run it's bad for us the gamers, short term it's more value for gamepass. I really dont want to see any plaform holder have a monopoly or extinction of non indie 3rd parties. When that happens it will be the death of physical games and an increase price for likes of Gamepass

Regardless of the debate of what prices games should be people here really seem to struggle with the difference between a port , a remaster and a remake/reimagining .

@Maxz 100% agree with you. I hate all the nonsense that pops up on while playing my xbox. Achievements are distracting and at times destroy the games atmosphere by popping up.

Sony pays big stacks of cash for exclusive games, Microsoft buys whole studios for exclusives, Nintendo makes them.

Any acquisition or merger of 2 out of the big 3 would be awful

It's a bit silly but yeah cuphead and ori are on it. As is Banjo and goldeneye so yeah fine marketing can call it whatever. Don't really care. Microsoft has been supportive of the switch overall. Sony on other hand refuses cross play.

It was solid not amazing. Very mario focused which while I love mario but would prefer a bit of variety. That said we just got zelda, it's too early for another pokemon . Another code and thousand year where nice.
I've also got to pick up pikmin and I've a backlog with fire emblem

I think saying most people think of Veronica Taylor as the voice really is doing Sarah Natochenny a bit of a disservice she's done the voice for 17 years now. Taylor is the voice I personally associate with Ash because I stopped watching it before the big voice actor change but loads of people that aren't as old as me, including tones of young pokemon fans she would be the only voice they knew for Ash.
They both did great jobs and which you most associate with the role is based on your age really.

Yeah I wouldn't have recognised that as JCVD at all other than it insists it is.
Also while I get the historical story behind this inclusion stop with the celebs. I just want to see palette swapped ninjas beat bloody chunks out of each other with actual voice actors voicing them.

Celebs in general doing work of VAs is a bit like asking a plumber to fix your car.

Could do without distracting celebs ivoices/likenesses in it. Rousey was awful.
Also these kind of celeb promo videos are often a bit cringe . Eg Chris Pratt for the mario movies werid delivery of "stomping.....koopas."

Makes perfect sense remove all the outdated information, future proof it for when switch is finished and cur costs by having one design for every amiibo rather than having the character and the game on the back.

@Clyde_Radcliffe I grew up watching the cartoons as a kid as well but I'll still find it strange he's been Mario in the games (apart from those awful CDi ones) since Mario started making noises so those cartoons are the exception really.

I'm sure at some point the shock factor will wear off ( like solid snake or sonics voices being recast etc) but I doubt there will be anyone as iconic as him in the red cap.

The next Mario Kart is going sound so strange (unless they use old recordings )

Overclocking a modified switch isn't really a feasible solution . The developers really need to make it work running on factory specs which im sure they could have done alot better if they weren't like nah we can leave it at that will do fps and save money they would have spent improving it.

@Not_Soos well its definitely been a period of transition since the switch its not like this is the first time it has happened and of course important Nintendo figures have retired,left the company or sadly passed away. Likes of Howard Lincoln, Howard Phillips, Minoru Arakawa, Gunpei Yokoi ,Hiroshi Yamauchi, then even second parties/affiliates have departed likes of Rare.

If you grew up with them being the faces of the brand etc the likes of Reggie etc coming in at first had same feeling.

Nintendo and its main figures have changed a number of times in my lifetime ( Shigeru Miyamoto been the only constant big presence) and he will leave massive shoes to fill( its not the company is dead or dying its more like going from one era to another.
