It's really just mini games here which tbh after like a month or so of owning the original on the n64 is all I ever did in it but they were great.

@victordamazio I'm aware of that but every comment section on these issues has people go this is why I only do physical which is as you point out not really the point.

It's an interesting point as we now have games like the last of us ( part 1) being remastered/remade from Ps3, ps4 and now ps5.
So it's become more of an issue (though say 98% of gamers don't notice or care tbh)

When can credits be left out or can we just say thanks to the original team as a collective special thanks credit.

Who needs to be credited in a remaster vs a remake and what's the definition separating the two.(like an agreed industry definition rather than an opinion)

Until its standardised across video games as a industry which will require unions/collective representation etc most likely, theres no right answer here.
The industry as a whole needs to sort it out.

Free to play games have a place and are clearly quite popular otherwise they would all die out entirely.
And whole argument physical vs digital well I prefer to have physical but if its 60 physical and 20 digital on sale or because its no longer being made I'm going digital.
Also if you like physical grand but stop pretending your superior to someone else that goes digital they both have pros and cons and most of us are mixing them.

Considering how long ago the option to add funds on wii u and 3ds natively has been gone in Europe I can't see a need for this. Last 3 years any purchases I made on them were viia topping up first other switch

The 2 missing elements here are back in thr day there was big excitement of seeing your and your mates pokemon in 3d for the first tine which is just long gone and playing the GB games on your TV Once those games are on switch online there will be no point to GB tower anyway.

E3 is sadly outdated and has been a shadow of its former self. It might get one more year as a revamp towards whatever trend they try to chase at best.

@GameOtaku let's face facts until they announced eshop was closing and created a panic buying frenzy of fomo it was a ghost town and a dead system.
The ability to buy natively on the system was already gone for years and very few people used their 3ds anymore (cant remember last one i saw in the wild) and most games people panic bought they were never going to buy during the 3ds life time at all.
It's more sad nostalgia that it's closing than this great tragedy.
All things have to end eventually and as you point out there are other ways.

Why are people complaining about the eshop closure as if it came out of nowhere and that millions of us still used the eshop.
It's a bit of a bummer but 3ds came out over a decade ago and has been dead for years.

People (mainly non Nintendo fans) laughed and mocked Nintendo and said it was doomed now when it began doing directs over live E3 shows but looking back it was the blow that eventually killed E3.

I'll miss the excite of the big dates and the cringe of live performances but seems no need for E3 anymore and their move towards influencers was final nail in the coffin.

Well with 3ds eshop closing and payments stopping this was always on the chopping block too.
Took ages to load so I'm guessing a very old server was switched off.

We have Ulimate we don't need Melee remastered.
Plus ypu change anything the Mellee moaners will come out.
Just throw it up with other Gamecube titles on NSO or eshop done

In fairness don't you have to have NSO and it's limited to 4 per customer for the account in total. Pretty sure it says life time limit so don't think scalpers are a big problem here.

I guess I'm just a bit sick of it being unnecessarily hard to play all the Sega console era Sonic games. Like a collection of everything up to dreamcast titles or even Heroes and GBA ones in one place would be great.

Not bad but with the screen crunch could they not instead use master system versions or just include both.

Marketing or not it's probably never going be a big series. It's a niche genre I'm delighted with turn based Strategy but others it just isn't their cup of tea. Fire emblem has more character personailty etc which helped it. Outside COs units are faceless canon fodder here

So far in Europe the sales are disappointing. No capcom games and NiS/Atlus ones that went up are missing a few titles like Persona Q2 isn't on sale for example.

Like it's last week you'd think be 30 pages of sales not 6 (with half being the generic always on sale shovel titles)

Doesnt the 3ds have a limit of 300 of those game lauching windows before it can't display others. I guess he could use multiple SD cards but that's alot.

@Frobodobo expansion packs were just dlc with a separate physical disk. They did exact same stuff as modern dlc except I needed to put in my age of Kings or yuris revenge disk to play (and have original installed too).
So I don't get the dlc is new argument they just changed name cause its a download now rather than a separate disk with its own box and manual.
Only new if you were consoles only until likes of ps3/xbox 360 or if you had a dreamcast

Not worth it at all I know two others sold for mad money but I suspect this is proof that there's a limited market for these investment cards one I'd suspect is creating an artificially high price for pokemon cards.

Why the 3 button one, I know it's the main one in the west but is so inferior to the SNES and 6 button one.

In fairness to Atlus they have had alot of decent sales on 3ds way more than most publishers/developers but seems they messed up calling last one final and seemingly would break Japanese law if has another final sale so pulled it.

If you think of it as half the price of course its not worth it but if you think of Side Dish as the dlc (presuming its similiar to octo expansion) and this as a comestic preorder bonus than its fine.

Been to japan one the power band is a must to get the most out of it, particularly the bowser jnr challenge

Felt a bit average to me, too heavy on dlc or games from 3ds era coming over that just didn't particularly interest me much.
Pikmin 4 opened very nicely but then I felt no excitement myself until metroid (which only being 1 deflated it slightly) and Gameboy.
Happy advance wars got a release date as did Zelda but felt nothing much new and big revealed and hung on likes of almost out kirby for too long..

New Ps5 games unless they are discounted releases have been 75 euro here that's almost 81 usd . Xbox have slowly closed that gap to 70-75 euro.
It's eventually just going be new industry price.
Though Botw is still 55 euro today and was 60-65 euro at launch which is rare most nintendofirst parties launch arround 50-55 and come down to maybe 45. Is it a bigger cartridge memorywise than majority switch games?

@Luminous117 I know right its such a daft assumption. But apparently that's been a huge issue for tech companies now. They planned or expected the "good times" covid profits increase to last . Now its gone you have lay offs and cut backs accross the industry.

It's a decent move by Nintendo as it softens the blow of inflation a bit. Think its wrong for people to associate it directly and specifically with an increase in game price.
McDonalds were in the news in japan for raising their prices recently along with various snack companies etc cost of living is raising in general.
Inflation is the true culprit thats driving cost up across the board and no company wants to take the hit to their profit by not passing it on to consumers I'm afraid.

It just seems with these sales reports the market always goes that numbers(often huge) is disappointing as its X and we wanted X plus Y (usually a unrealistic number).
Loads of them were shocked the video game covid sales bump ended but of course it did.

Wouldn't be surprised since every bill I have has increased in last 6 months particularly electricity, gas petrol etc and price has gone up on pretty much everything else in supermarket.
Even likes of a can of coke is like 20% more.
Video games aren't inflation proof they just seem to be the last thing to increase.

What's wrong with either version. Half way through campaign on xbox and played switch version for 3 levels too using n64 controller. Nothing majorly wrong has popped up for me on either. Could original team do better, probably but like its 26 years on I assume none or extremely few of them work for Rare or even same company as each other.

@Arawn93 triangle strategy is not the same at all, it's not clear the connections if any vs Advance Wars clear use of hey its war but fun and full of stereotypes
Nintendo made a PR decision based on protecting its image. I love advance wars myself and hope they will release it already but I see why it was delayed,same thing happened with advance wars due to 911 in many markets if I recall correctly.
Modern Warfare was in late October when some time had passed. Also Activision Blizzard doesnt have much of a reputation to protect from public scrutiny after its scandals

Rwalistically there is a very big PR difference in releasing it in 2023 vs releasing it shortly after a war broke out involving a nation the game parodies in a cartoon manner through Olaf and Blue moon. Sadly the war has being going on so long that its now become normalised as opposed to the shocking event it initially was.
