That's a good idea, but I think users would quickly catch on. IMBD doesn't count 0/5 user scores...so review bombers started giving 1/5 scores instead.
Astral Chain is great, and as long as they stay brainlessly loyal to MS or Sony, they won't have it. This whole "I don't want to buy a system for one game!!!!!1" BS is old. Every system has at least a handful of exclusives most people will enjoy. Buy the system, or shut up and live without them. It's that easy.
If it turns out to be true I think Terry is a strong contender. Mai or a Metal Slug character would also be up there, but Mai even puts Bayonetta and ZSS to shame in the fan service department, and Metal Slug's characters aren't as widely known.
Looking forward to playing this game. I understand everyone has a different opinion, but the Independent one had be baffled. 1 out of 5? Seems like that should be reserved for the worst dreck on the mobile store, not any game from Platinum.
I've also seen A LOT of salty fan review bombers because either it's 30 FPS (which is fair, but not review bomb worthy) or not not on PS4. I mean what the heck? PS4 gets an exclusive like Persona 5 which wasn't funded by Sony like Astral Chain was by Nintendo and no one bats an eye.
Nintendo gets a cool third-party exclusive? Time to review bomb!!!!1 eyeroll
I've actually had mostly minor problems with almost every system I've owned (Nintendo and otherwise).
SNES: Dead Power Adapter
N64: Mario Party (lol)
PS1: Drifting controllers
PS2: Console died (stopped reading discs). Drifting controller
Gamecube: Drifting controleller
Xbox/360: Drifting Controller
Wii: Drifting Nunchuck
Wii U/Dreamcast: Nothing yet, actually
Most of these issues usually happened a little later in the console's life and I had other controllers so it didn't matter too much. I have the Joycon drift, but I actually just sent them in yesterday to get repaired. Glad Nintendo started offering free repairs. I'm going to buy the Daemon X Joycons anyway, but it's good to have the originals working properly.
Three Houses just makes me so happy. It's selling well so it'll keep the series alive, it's a good evolution of the series, and it has the emotional impact that Fates really lacked. I was more attached to Annette (best girl, fight me lil' hat lovers) than every pairing in Fates.
I really wish they would just ban them. Anything in loot boxes would be much better served as a normal unlockable anyway. I hate trying to get a certain skin only to get the feeling it's being withheld until I cough up real money or thousands of hours of grinding play time.
I'm surprised so many people support lack of balance. I find unbalanced fighters boring to watch and play (multiplayer/online). I hate seeing the same character over, and, and over, and over, and over, and over.....
"it's exciting to see someone succeed against a stronger character!!!1" Yeah, the handful of times that actually happens. The other 99.9% of the time it's Fox v. Fox on FD, or Doom/Virgil/Zero vs Doom/Virgil/Zero. So exciting /s
LOL. I'm kind of surprised about the 60 FPS complaints. For a first-person shooter or fighter? Sure, 60 FPS is super important. A turn-based game? It's like complaining that movies are 30 FPS...
Yeah, I had the same thought. Love my shmups, but $40 for the standard edition is a bit steep with so many other greats already on Switch at half the price.
Congrats to the winners! I kind of figured Chaos would win, but I couldn't say no to Marina in that silver outfit. I'll miss splafests...well, until Splatoon 3.
That's a real shame. I really enjoyed Y's VIII, and would love to see more of the series on Switch. If they figure they can't even get someone else to port the games for them then future games are likely out of the cards for me. This is such a strange era to be JRPG and exclusive when you're a third party dev. Even Sony's CONSTANT bread and butter game FFVII:Remake will likely be a timed exclusive.
Hardcore Pokemon Fans: AHHHHHHHHHHH! Lying Game Freak! I'll never trust you! And I'll never forgive this betrayal! My entire life has no meaning without the National Dex!
Emperor Palpatine: Gooood, let the hate flow through you.
Hardcore Pokemon Fans: Let's down vote every official trailer, rage comment every story, flame everyone not as angry as us, and scream and cry that we won't buy Sword/Shield (even though we probably will anyway). We must stay united in our fan rage!!!!!11j3489432u89edffd!!!!
Emperor Palpatine: Whoa dudes, chill. It's just a game. A game that will likely still be good, just not exactly what you wanted...have these guys ever been outside? The world sucks, the national dex isn't that big of a dig. I mean, I promote hate, but this makes me look like the Easter Bunny.
This sounds fine to me, not essential, but possibly a worthwhile investment. I won't buy day 1 because wave 1 is totally passable, but if the future waves look good (like with BotW, and Mario+Rabbids) then I'll jump on board. Nintendo's DLC has been pretty solid overall. Heck, the Splatoon 2 DLC was better than the built-in campaign.
Cool. Always good to see good devs doing well...and 12 platforms??? Haha, glad to see they aren't too loyal to one overlord so everyone can enjoy the game.
National Dex but game delayed 1-2 years: Fans Butthurt
National Dex + No Delay: Fans Butthurt that Gamefreak broke the laws of time and space
Second coming of Jesus: Fans Butthurt Jesus doesn't look like Arceus and that they won't get to play Pokemon in hell even though they spent the last 6 months complaining how it's terrible now.
Hope Nintendo sticks to this policy. For the most part, I prefer games to remain 100% as the developers intended. I get why they censored Lin in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Demanding they allow you to put a 14-year old in a skimpy bikini isn't a position you want to be arguing for...
My only major criticism of the game would be that it's so short...but that's usually a good criticism because it means I wanted to play more of it. $2 is the perfect price for the length, and a steal if you take advantage of the replay/speedrun value. I'd love to see a Kamiko 2 that's longer someday.
Nostalgia is one heck of a drug. I love FFVII, but the remake is the unholy child of Kingdom Hearts and FFXIII wearing FFVII's skin. I'll take my blocky hands any day.
Yesterday I saw the toxicity about Pokemon in the ANIMAL CROSSING story. I come to Nintendo Life today, see this title, and know the comment section would be sewer filled with industrial waste. I guess I truly am a casual Pokemon fan: the criticisms are fair, but I'm nowhere near THIS level of comment-section butt hurt.
Glad to see this game doing so well. Price was a tiny bit higher than it should have been, but I've wasted money on games far worse, so I can't complain about giving my money to a good dev.
I hope devs are taking good ideas from other games. Read Dead did lots of things better than BOTW, so it'd great to see improvements in the sequel. That said, no open world game comes close to matching BOTW's freedom. I felt nailed to the ground in Read Dead and Witcher (both great games), in BOTW you can glide, climb, and ACTUALLY go anywhere.
One of the better JRPG series many people haven't played. The story isn't phenomenal (though not bad either) but the music and battle system are top notch. As long as the port isn't garbage (or stupid expensive like Capcom ports) I'll likely snag this.
I always thought it was funny that Millenia (girl with red hair in Grandia 2) was voiced by the lady who played the Little Mermaid.
They better show Animal Crossing or the AC fans will crucify Nintendo (on Twitter). It's probably too early for Metroid Prime 4 since they restarted development, but I'd love to see that one. More than anything I'd love to see some niche games make a comeback like Baten Kaitos or Wonderful 101, but chances are super slim on that. They'll probably just show more on a bunch of games we already know about.
At least they won't be pulling a Sony and showing FF VII remake for the millionth time. I swear, they're going to sell three generations of consoles on fanboy hype alone (PS3 because of the tech demo, PS4 with the first/second episode, and very likely PS5 for episode 3/remasted collection).
Wait, they're buffing dualies and nerfing splatling guns and umbrellas...did the devs miss the usage memo or do they just not care that fast-shooting (non charge) weapons were already top-tier and the most used?
Rollers deserved a buff though. Sure, I get salty getting one-hit killed, but really, I probably deserved it because rollers are easy to shut down if you're careful.
"Price shouldn't be part of the SCORE!!!!1!!" Yes, yes it should. Just because most reviews don't include this doesn't mean it isn't important. Look at any review for a car and they'll almost always mention value compared to price. It's a practice that SHOULD be common in game reviews, but isn't for reasons seen in these comments: The internet whines and cries about "objectivity". Well, I can objectively say this game isn't worth the asking price on Switch considering overall quality of the game and it's age. Not to mention this isn't the hill to die on. This game is pretty average as point and clicks go, and loves its racist and pedo jokes. So edgy.
"Zelda with Dualshock, anyone?" Yuck, no. To each their own, but I think Playstation has had the worst controller of the last three generations. Xbox the Nintendo Pro controllers are both great...PS...meh. I feel like my hands are scrunched up holding it.
Haha, same. I love figures (anime and otherwise) and Midna is no exception, but I could never justify paying so much for something that would just sit on a shelf.

Noice. My favorite too. Everyone always give me a hard time by saying FFVII is better...and I like both, but FVIII was always my favorite.
