Some very good choices here. And I'll admit, I liked Other M (so sue me!). Sure, they made a lot of poor choices with it, but the 2D/3D blend was a genious idea that should be expanded on. TBH, I'll be disappointed if they go back entirely to first person or third person for the next Metroid.
Some niche games like Fragile and Rune Factory: Frontier would be great as well (I'm glad they're already bringing amazing games like Pandora's Tower and Sin & Punishment).
Ugh, don't get me started on clone characters like Dr. Mario and Dark Pit. There are SOOOO many better choices, or they could have just left them out entirely. Even Lucina (a character I like) is just a lower-tier Marth...yaaaay
Yeah, I'm kind of the same. Zelda is probably my favorite long-running series, but Xenoblade offers more for me (at least in hype), because there are fewer games in the series which means more suprises at the same great quality .
And I can't believe people are voting for MM 3D and Xenoblade 3D over Zelda Wii U and Xenoblade Chronicles X. Not because of quality (we don't know that yet), but because they're both ports/remakes. Sigh It's a sad day in gaming when people would rather play the same thing over and over than somthing new...well and it could just be the 3DS+PS4 people who are in denial...
As long as poeple pay for the games, why does Nintendo care? I don't really import games, but I have Japanese friends I'd love to play MH and Smash Bros with, but I can't...even though I'd be a paying customer (I hate Piracy). Nintendo makes a lot of mistakes with their systems, but this is the most randomly punishing to loyal customers. Just get rid of it already, Nintendo T_T.
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh I'm mean, I'm excited. I love FE no matter what platform it's on, but I hate how much Intelligent systems is avoiding consoles lately. Because no matter how much I loved FE:A, there's no way it would NOT be better in HD, with better sounds, bigger screen, and better control options. I know, I shouldn't complain, I'll take what I can get, but I wish Intelligent systems would have the juevos to release a game on Wii U (like Monolith). Heck, they aren't even making a Paper Mario Wii U. At the very least they could do that (after the meh handheld interation).
Oh, you'd better hide for smack-talking melee, LOL. Not from me, I agree with you, but melee fans are as bad as Earthbound, Darksouls, Monster Hunter, Majora's Mask fans...scary T_T. Take my flameshield for protection.
That said, this is a bit strange...even for Touhou (from what I know of it).
...or very easily release a patch that fixes this...I don't know why EVERYONE doesn't support the destruction of exploits...oh yeah, because people exploit eploits to win . Wouldn't want to have fair matches would we?
I think they might use it as an opportunity to get some crazier ideas into the mix. I mean, Agitha made it in, I'd be willing to bet we're going to see the Happy Mask Salesman.
I think that's one of the the two things Nintendo needs to address while tackling this. Not releasing popular games makes people want to pirate them...so release more amazing games on VC! (Duh).
And secondly, they need to lift the region lock. Who cares if people are BUYING games from other regions...they're still paying fair and sqaure, so what's the big deal? Doing that would take the teeth out of the "b-but Homebrew!!!1" argument and get more fans behind the anti-piracty movement.
I don't hate them, but it's funny how 90% of the time they seem to drop the ball on the little stuff: club Nintendo, DLC, Virtual Console releases, etc.
People should be using that coin to save up for a decent PC. Seriously, it's funny to watch dedicated Sony and MS go at each others throats about "power" when my budget PC destroys both of them...without having to pay to play online, and getting access to STEAM sales, and having better control options, and every good indie game and then some, and...well you get the picture. Nintendo exclusives+PC near-universal support...why are PS4 and Xbox One even a thing?
Yeah, same here. And I'm glad I didn't have to wait too long to get the version I thought would be better: Sorry 3D fans, HD for life! (And 3D kind of hurts my eyes, lol).
I usually don't buy games full price anymore because I'm tired of paying $60+ for a game with a 10-15 hour campaign, no replay value (sorry Bioshock Infinite, I see no reason to replay you), and no/hollow multiplayer. But Bayonetta 2 deserved every one of my pennies. It's also kind of nice seeing a dev thank people for liking the game, instead of hating on Wii U (and its fans) for not buying more. Akiko Kuroda should write all of Kamiya's Twitter messages for him
It's sad how often this gif relates to club Nintendo rewards T_T. They didn't even do the Wii U version of Mario Kart...just the Wii Version...WTH? I would almost just get the posters, but as much as I love games, I don't really decorate my space with game stuff.
Yeah, I was surprised how much I liked it on Hyrule Warriors. Everyday interactions are not great (like the initial spinner you get for Link), but it's pretty sweet to get a Lv. 3 Mirror for Twili Midna, an Epona of time with great skills, or 50,000 rupees to invest in that black hole which is the training dojo T_T.
I don't know about a specific game...but I'd love to have alternate amiibos for other games. Like a Daisy for Mario Kart, Toadette for Treasure Tracker, or any of the characters from Hyrule Warriors. As long as Nintendo makes them useful and pretty I'm sure I'll keep buying a few here and there.
Cool. I might actually pick this game up once my backlog gets unlogged because I like the series so much. I'd really love to see Lufia1 & 2 for Wii U virtual console. Gah, the first game wasn't even that great...but I LOVE IT. I was crushed when there were rumors it was coming to the Wii Virtual console but it never happened...I may just buy this to support it.
The reason I liked it as turn based was because there are already a slew of amazing Mario platformers it's almost a shame to see a Paper Mario game try and compete. Not to mention the turn-based battle system really bolstered the on-stage/diorama motif in Thousand Year Door. That said, I still liked Super Paper Mario, but I'd prefer it go back to the roots...as long as it's done right...
Sadly, that'll probably be the case. This game looks better than most of the other stuff coming out on handhelds...but it looks like an uphill battle for sales. It was heresy Bayonetta didn't sell better, and it'll pure blasphemy when FFXV (ugh) outsells Xenoblade Chroncles X ten to one.
As much I'm REALLY excited for this game, I think that's fair. That's one of the reasons I liked Xenoblade better than Skyrim. In Xenoblade, every nook and cranny was carefully crafted, varied, and significant (i.e you get an amazing view of a waterfall/exp/etc.) In Skyrim, I would just feel like I was slogging along so I could unlock the warp checkpoints and never have to walk again
This game is starting to look much better, but my only question is do the physics switch between styles? If not, that's a little sad considering that's what mad Mario World the best 2D Mario game IMO.
Under the right director I think Smash Bros. could do fine without Sakurai (just look how well Retro handle Metroid and Donkey Kong). There is always a risk it'd go the wrong direction, but I say let the man do something else for a change. I'd want to "tighten the noose" after a short while if I had to deal with whiny melee fanboys, obsessed perverts sending inappropriate snapshots (why can't we just enjoy the weird fanservice without being mindless 14-year olds?), and entitled 30-something gamers who their game NOW!!!!11...or they'll go buy a PS4!!!1 (even though they already did )
Ugh. I love Atlus, but most of their choices lately worry me...a lot. I'm just about ready to drop them entirely and skip the whole "Final Fantasy XIII-2" era that I strongly feel is coming...I could be wrong, but the slog of Persona 4 spinoffs, near-worthless DLC in every one of their new games, and new obsession with remakes doesn't bode too well in my mind.
At least I still have my precious Monolith and Intelligent Systems to keep me hanging onto JRPG's for a while longer.
I agree ...well with the Midna part...but I'm glad OTHER people can enjoy Link in his hot pants XD. Fanservice is justified if they pander to all genders and sexual orientations at once!
Yeah, I'd imagine that would help to have someone locally who liked to play this game T_T. I was so disappointed when they omitted online because no local friends play Wii U. That said, I did finally break down and buy this game for myself during a 40% off deal . And I'm very pleased to see they are still adding content!
Now THAT'S something I can say "AMEN" to. I don't fawn all over Sakurai like some of his more dedicated fanboys, but I still think he's doing a great job. Being THAT butthurt over one medoicre character while insulting other AMAZING series and their characters is just nuts. Sure I don't 100% agree with the roster, but I also understand that the fanbase consists of more than just me (something Melee fanboys NEVER seem to grasp).
I have a hard time being excited about spinoffs/combined worlds in general. 1) None of of it is canon. 2) It kind of cheapens the canon. 3) No matter how "deep" it is, it can never compete with an original title.
This just seems like a Persona-exclusive Kingdom Hearts with turn-based gameplay...eh, no thanks. I'll dust off the 3DS when Project STEAM rolls out.
I'm sure this game could very well deserve a 9/10, but if they give it that they're saying it's the same quality and Smash 3DS...which is complete BS. Maybe they're revising the 3DS score so they can give this one a 9 and not feel like they're lying
Bah, this game fell onto my back-burner list when they decided to omit online co-op, but it keeps trying to get me back with cool characters.
Yes, Nintendo, Midna is one of my favorite Zelda characters...and you had go and include both version now T_T. If you release a Midna Amiibo I may have to hurt you...or finally buy this game
"Not everyone who prefers Melee is automatically an elitist." You're right. If they aren't elitists then they're wanna-be elitists: people who subscribe to a game's popularity just because there is a competitive scene for it (see Street Fighter).
Someone can like Melee most, but as a game it's a barebones glitchfest...if that's the best Smash Bros. then "FF VII is the best JRPG eva!!11...please remake it because I hate it too much to play it anymore...still the best though!!!1"
Isa, Kachi, and Reyn? If only Nintendo loved me that much...Imagine a Reynmobile or Kachi riding that space donkey...too amazing T_T.
I could totally see Pit getting in though. And we might see a small Xenbolade reference. Monolith as been getting a lot more (much deserved) love lately.
That's pretty much where I am. I have a PC for third-party games...but I almost always wait for STEAM sales for them because quality can vary hightly (with or without Metacritic's approval). Nintendo is (usually) the only company I'll full price for games anymore because of the dedicated quality...and the fact prices hardly ever drop XD. There's nothing wrong with having the best of both worlds, but I'm not dropping hundreds of dollars a year for slogs of uninspired shooters and bad JRPGs, when I can get masterpieces like Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade, and Mario 3D World with my money.
And are people REALLY fighting with Punished Boss? We all know he's a troll who's "too cool for Wii U"...just ignore him already,
I thought the EXCACT same thing about two years ago. Everyone online just wouldn't shuddup about how HORRIBLE Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess were and how AMAZING Majora's Mask was.
I'm not a person to complain about games without giving them a chance (or a second chance in this case since it'd been so long since I played it). But I actually disliked MM more the second time than the first time T_T. The dungeons, backtracking, and bosses all felt terrible. OMG, you have to play one dungeon over gain in Skyward Sword? Try falling off the Snowfall Temple and having to re-do the puzzles, or better yet the Great Bay Temple which is arguably the WORST water dungeon in the series because of the stupid current mechanics and the loose, glitchy Zora controls...everyone can have their precious MM, I'll be playing STEAM, X, and Splatoon.
Awww, you gonna get flamed! (it's totally true IMO, MM has some of the worst dungeons and bosses)...but you gonna get flamed!
I'm happy for fans of the game, but I wouldn't double-dip on this one. I still like the game, but I always found it in the same category as Kingdom Hearts, FFVII, and Persona 4. Good, but not as good as the rabid fanbase makes it out to be.
That's what I was thinking. People will line up for every mediocre game on a popluar system, and completely ignore a masterpiece on a lesser-known system. Such a shame.
Think about it this way: Instead of buying a load of mediocre PS4 and Xbox One shooters at $60 a piece you could buy a Wii U and Bayonetta 2 instead
Well, and the more people call for abolishing region locking the more they will falter. TBH, I'd never really import games...but I don't think there's anything wrong with those who want to do it as long as they pay Here's hoping they get rid of the silly practice.
At the very least many of the glitches will be snuffed out because of all the one they're finding in the 3DS version before the Wii U's release (Day-1 patch is very likely). As much as I've hated on the 3DS version it does seem to have the one good use of being a glitch buffer .
"Why do I need the Wii U version when I have the equal/superior 3DS version?!!!!1" I think this Direct will finally put claims like this to rest. People will either remain delusional, fork out the money for a Wii U, or cry in a corner.
Yeah, the whole show seemed like an excuse to justify a lot of things (the amount deranged fetishes in the first few episodes was staggering, and that's not even including the emo-teen pandering). After watching about 8 episodes I pretty much boiled it down to one easy saying: Cryin' n'Dyin' and I ain't buyin'.
I ALMOST said MB 3 because as a standalone game it is more influential even with Mario World having MUCH better secrets and crisp gameplay. The reason? It introduced Yoshi as a mainstream character. Nintendo has never been the same since
Pretty much. Anyone with a brain understands and accepts every system has its good exclusives, but a handful of "dedicated" Sony fans cannot accept other systems having superior games. It's a constant thorn in their complete superiority claims. Every system has its rabid fanboys...but Sony's are..."special".

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask Confirmed For Spring 2015 Nintendo 3DS Release
@Desend
Re: Bayonetta 2 Falls From UK Charts After One Week
@Mega719
Re: Region-Locking May Be a Thing of the Past Soon According to Nintendo
@IceClimbers
Well, and the more people call for abolishing region locking the more they will falter. TBH, I'd never really import games...but I don't think there's anything wrong with those who want to do it as long as they pay Here's hoping they get rid of the silly practice.
Re: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Online Brawlers Reporting 136 Year Ban Glitch
@midnafanboy
At the very least many of the glitches will be snuffed out because of all the one they're finding in the 3DS version before the Wii U's release (Day-1 patch is very likely). As much as I've hated on the 3DS version it does seem to have the one good use of being a glitch buffer .

Haha! Spot on, spot on.

@Gameday
It HAD a name!
Re: Wii U-Exclusive Super Smash Bros. Modes and Challenges Unveiled
"Why do I need the Wii U version when I have the equal/superior 3DS version?!!!!1"
I think this Direct will finally put claims like this to rest. People will either remain delusional, fork out the money for a Wii U, or cry in a corner.
Re: Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind Looks Set for a Western Release
@andrea987
Re: Poll: Nintendo Minute Debate - Is Super Mario World or Super Mario Bros. 3 More Influential?
Mario World.
I ALMOST said MB 3 because as a standalone game it is more influential even with Mario World having MUCH better secrets and crisp gameplay. The reason? It introduced Yoshi as a mainstream character. Nintendo has never been the same since
Re: Weirdness: Sony Fan Creates Petition In Hope Of Bringing Super Smash Bros. To The PS Vita
@JusticeColde
