I said some pretty awful stuff during my young "edgelord" phase trying desperately to be funny, but even then, I only said things like that around friends and knew better than to post it online where everyone can see it.
I grew up, got jobs where I made friends with a wider range of folk, and learned that punching down is rarely funny and that the true nature of humor in its purest form is an excessive use of puns. And I think a love for puns is required for all Nintendo Life readers. Puns are the great uniter. (uniter? I hardly know her!)
The company is too niche for this to be some random online attack. My guess would be disgruntled employee. Unless someone out there was REALLY upset about their shipping delays.
It's a shame that these aren't available in the states, because I really dig these designs and would be willing to spend thousands of cold hard platinum points to collect these.
I still have my Wind Waker pre-order wallscroll from the GameCube days. And while I haven't hung it up in well over a decade, I would try to fish it out of storage so I could hang these 2 symmetrically.
For as much as I've been clamoring on about a Kid Icarus: Uprising remake, it's been long enough at this point that I truly wonder if the game itself was fun, or if I was just charmed by the characters and dialogue.
I gasped louder at this than I did Zelda. I'm a huge X-Fan, and for YEARS Marvel was actively trying to kill off the franchise because of petty squabbles over studio rights. Going as far as editing all mutants out of group shots for Infinity Wars merch.
But those days are behind us and we have been eating good. Even if you weren't a big fan of a the Krakoa era, it undeniably gave the franchise the shot in the arm it needed to pull off something like X-Men 97.
Aside from MvC2 which I could play at my friend's house, all the games in this collection are ones I would get starry-eyed over at the arcade. I'd pop quarters in and get about 3 or 4 fights in before I got humiliated by the CPU. And after all these years, I may finally have my revenge without even having to be all pirate-like about it.
I was worried that we were moving away from the top-down formula, so I was ecstatic to see this revealed.
Also, I can almost guarantee that Zelda will end up with the bow Link was holding. It had a unique design to it, and Zelda's been shootin' arrows for several iterations now. And with the focus being about summoning monsters to fight, then it makes since to stay in the back row and lend ranged support rather than bumping into your own monster to try and hit the same enemy.
I was late to the game on picking up Gris, and loved it. Played through it a couple times, but I agree that it can be a bit slow (which I totally get is part of the appeal)
This game looks fantastic, though. The slow unfurling of rich environments from Gris is clearly still at the heart here, but the gameplay seems a lot more engaging. And I'm such a sucker for games featuring li'l guys as companions. And that Neva is quite the li'l guy. I'm very excited for this one.
I honestly don't mind the Switch's graphics output... however... my TV isn't all that spectacular. (1080p - 36") So when I'm playing on a friend's gigantic 4k television, the jump from PS5 to Switch can be quite jarring.
I worked at a graphic design/printing company for several years, and just about everything that's popped up on MyNintendo can be printed in bulk pretty cheap from a site like Moo or 4over. Really just need a vector graphic or a 300dpi raster image and that's about it.
Not to discredit any of the criticisms from the previous comments here, but I will say that the Devolver Direct is usually worth the watch. The games are quality, and the presentation is pretty fun.
I wonder if Steam Powered Girrafe will be doing any tunes for this one. They really knocked it out of the park in the original Heist, but I could see how they might be leaning towards something with a "sea chanty" vibe this time around.
Amateurs! If they really want to run with the big dogs of the game industry, they should take all that extra money they've saved up to buy up as many indie studios as they can afford, then promptly shut them down and lay off all employees.
-How many of your joycons are drifting?
-Is there a gap in the top of your switch caused by battery bulging?
-Are there cracks in the plastic from getting too hot?
-Have you ever had to send it in to Nintendo for repairs?
-Have you modded your system in any way?
I'd be very interested in taking this survey just to see where this particular community is at as we approach thr post-mortem stages.
The man clearly knows what the best X-Men era was, and for all the right reasons. So if that's a source of inspiration then I'm already way more interested.
Midnight Suns was far more "Fire Emblem: Three Houses" than it was "XCom". It really caught me off guard at first, but then after asking Blade to help decorate for Magik's birthday party, I relented to the silliness, and ended up thoroughly enjoying that game. It really is a shame it never made it to Switch.
If we're talking short and sweet, the OG Steamworld Dig. Even shorter? Sayonara Wild Hearts!
But my ultimate answer is Hades. Solely because what someone may consider "beating the game" can refer to one out of 3 or 4 different goals. Choose the goal that's right for you!
I finally got my hands on Midnight Suns after holding out for a Switch port. It was way more "Three Houses" than I was expecting, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This might be the closest we'll get for Switch. Looks fun, though!
With over 1000+ Pokémon now days, it's extremely helpful to get a head start on your collection as early as possible.
Now, I just wait for them to cater to the geriatric demographic so that the pokemon company can literally earn money off of a fan for their entire life span.
Once upon a time, I made a Twitter account just for posting Zelda haikus. I haven't updated it in years, but it's very much on topic, here: https://twitter.com/HylianHaikus
While I really wasn't expecting much outside of a name change and logo rebranding, I'm starting to think that something was lost along the way when they moved on from Image & Form making quaint little SteamWorld titles.
@Haruki_NLI I think this is surrounding the whole PEGI drama where they think there's a gambling context to the game, which is an automatic 'adult' rating.
I'm very interested, but this might be one of the rare cases where I hold out for a mobile release
I'm having fun with it. The cons mentioned are issues I've already noticed crop up.
I love getting lost in roguelikes. Slay the Spire, Hades, and Dead Cell are some of my favorites in the genre. Side Order, unfortunately, does not stack up to any of these in the slightest.
I've played the Bit.Trip collection on 3DS, and have Runner3 on Switch. Had a blast with them. I didn't think of it as an 'incomplete' trilogy, but I guess now I gotta get 2 just for the sense of completion.
I feel like Commander Video was revving up to be an Indie star, then all the hype sorta of collapsed around him. He was even in Smash!
For those curious, the key item required to unlock adventure mode can be found on the Boss Rush stage after surviving for 10 minutes (or maybe it was 15min? Its hard to tell the passage of time in that game)
I was always going to give them my money. Even if it was bad. But THIS...? A rougelike element that can be replayed? I'm gonna spend so so so many hours on this. I need to try and beat a couple games by the end of February to clear some room off my plate.
