This was a fun one. Not my favorite, but definitely one I enjoyed. The new egg-throwing mechanic is really going to work well with the elevator platforms.
Glad to see these brands giving back to their supporters. Though I've just gotten word that Tentatek will be dropping their sponsorship of Clamye West after disparaging comments made in regards towards Octolings.
I never played the first Splatoon, so Flounder Heights is also a new one for me. Going to be doing lots of recon on Dec 1st before jumping into a live match.
I had blown through my Super Sea Snails from the last Splatfest long ago, and having 2 months in between events really left me waiting. Especially considering that it can cost an entire fest's worth of winnings just to max out 1 piece of gear.
That being said, I'm really hoping Big Run doles out more silver/gold scales. The Salmon Run scale grind is TOUGH and a quicker way to earn them is more than welcome. (Also really dig the cello music from SR playing the mish-mash version of the normal theme)
Did one of these events a few years back and won some pretty nice freebies. (Metal water bottle and Eevee baseball cap, and a lapel pin)
No mention of prizes aside from Platinum Points this time around, though. DC is the closest one to me, and I dont feel like spending 2 hours looking for a parking spot, so I'll pass.
Off the top of my head, the one that really blindsided me the most was the intro to Saints Row IV when you're climbing the missile after its launched, and Aerosmith starts playing.
Honorable mention goes to any of the games using Debussy's Clair de Lune, even though TECHNICALLY its now in public domain, so its not quite "licensed music". Over a century later, and its still a banger. Always enjoy when it pops up in games.
My partner isn't a "gamer" but there's a couple games we've been playing together recently. I'm very interested in trying this out with her, but not sure if she'll take to it. Absolutely worth a try.
I had all the NES games, and they each had something "special" about them, but they were very weird.
But the answer is Hit & Run by a mile. I have fond memories of playing the Arcade Game, but that was more friends and atmosphere than actually enjoying the game itself.
I really though this was coming to the Switch Online N64 until I read the above comment from @Vil, then actually read the article correctly. Honestly a little bummed, but still glad to see this on the Switch nonetheless.
Storm is one of my favorite X-Men characters, so that DLC pack sounds great and all, but Im not sure if this is the type of game that will have me coming back for more after I clear the campaign.
I enjoy turn based card games, but if there weren't any playable X-Men I doubt I'd be remotely interested.
@h15c0r3r Same here. This morning it booted me out about 2/3 of the time, and even had the software close on me entirely which had never happened to me before. I've had connection issues here and there, but nothing quite like this before
"Fixed an issue with Bloblobber where some of the blobs would not be lobbed..."
This single sentence delights me to no end.
Additionally, I had really felt like the hit boxes were too small when trying to be revived in Salmon Run. I'd be floating around with allies drenching me in ink, and still not manage to get revived. Glad it wasn't my imagination, and even more gladder that its actually being resolved.
@victordamazio What happened to Pooh Bear is only a small taste of what is to come for the Mouse. Our century of collective patience will soon pay off.
Honestly, 50 platinum points is as low as I've ever seen for a physical reward. I'd imagine that the Japanese MyNintendo may have a different point value, but the Nintendo Online user icon images are still 10 Platinum each, so I think its similar.
Its funny how the 'troll' answer would normally be the Wii Shop Channel, except its a solid contender in its own right, and has been remixed and sampled more than most of these other songs are.
I had to re-read the article to understand what actually transpired. For a moment I thought players with an Inkbrush were just drawing dongs and bewbies on the turf, like one does.
I mostly played this game at the arcade, but I really don't find myself in arcades very often.
I snatched this up when it first came out on Switch, and it translated very well to a home TV screen.
I played it heavily, then a new game came out that took my attention away from it, and when I tried to hop back on, the online community just wasn't there anymore.
Great game, and hope they find a way to keep it alive.
Glad I'm not the only one experiencing a sharp difficulty spike, since that means there's hope of a patch.
I had my first round be a flooded stage with the Grillers where we were wiped out within the first 30 seconds. TWICE IN A ROW.
The run after that had a normal first round, then straight to the glowflies and wiped out in the first 30 seconds again. I can't blame my teammates, as I could clearly tell they were trying their best.
Fixed an issue where, after clearing the final stage, a communication error would occur in the middle of a certain scene and return the player to the square.
This happened to me and I'm so glad I dont have to play through that entire boss fight again, and it'll just let me skip the stage to view it.
You've seen lockers with full robot armor, I'm sure. But have you ever seen one with the armor turned to the side? Because thats what I've got going on inside mine.
Once I got the tall boi locker at level 15, I had enough room for the thinking man statue to look down upon the robot armor facing to the left to really encapsulate the "mankind contemplates the horrors of technology" vibe I was aiming for.
I've had a couple matches that start up and then within the first 15 seconds it tells me that another player has dropped out. (Usually the only player that has 0p ink filled that round is to blame)
For me, Smash Bros was almost unplayable over wifi, but ran smooth as butter once I was plugged in to an ethernet cord. That being said, I put in over 500 hours in Splatoon 2 almost entirely over wifi and rarely had issues.
(Also, @rjejr If you're facing the lobby doors, Grizzco should be just to the right with an orange sign above it. And from there, the alleyway next to it leads to the card battle area)
My brain is stubborn and tries to hoard MyNintendo platinum points as if it were still Club Nintendo. I got both items and still have about 1200 points left.
Club Nintendo would have probably had a slick set of 3 glossy posters for Splatoon 3. But sure... I'll take a bag and some stickers.
Glad others mentioned the base inking strategy. Rush forward right off the bat, then ink the base when you respawn. If you and your team teammates don't get a chance to respawn, then the enemy team has more to worry about than your inkless base.
@PrettyPatrick For the "slow & steady" option, I like to go with the Rollers. You can be more helpful to your team by painting the sidelines rather than getting into the heat of the action.
@Laserbeak1982 I had to crank the sensitivity way up to feel comfortable with the motion controls. I ended up putting my sticks at max sensitivity for quick broad movements and use the motion controls for more precise aiming.
Read the title and got all excited, but not available here just yet. Gotta wait an entire 18 minutes for the clock to hit midnight. Literally unbearable.
Single player campaigns in Splatoon always felt like a chore to clear out until the Octo Expansion, so I'm glad to hear thats the direction they're taking it in.
In all honesty, I'd still be playing Splatoon 2 if they kept up with adding new stages, weapons, and continued with semi-regular Splatfests. I still have the urge to ink, and I've hit a lull in playing other games so Im more than happy to build up to level 99 all over again.
ALSO! Im hoping the "next big thing" that sets Splatoon 3 apart is the "Big Run" mode that was teased where you play Salmon Run to stave off kaiju sized salmonoids from attacking the city. It sounds like this may be handled like a Splatfest event, and I'm hoping this means that the overly spacious Splattsville will become the battleground to coat in ink.
There is no way to spoil the feeling of victory on the battlefield. That is something that can only be experienced first hand, and not vicariously through some youtuber.
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a bit of Splatoon lore, but the single player is always a fairly straightforward affair. I'll be avoiding spoilers but I doubt I'll feel any different after learning that the real Captain Cuttlefish was the friends we made along the way.
I just want Capcom to play friendly with the X-Men again. Now that the weird Fox vs Disney debacle is over and Marvel isn't actively trying to snuff out every mutant character, not unlike a Sentinel, I'd love to see a new X-Men vs Street Fighter game using some of the newer roster.
I have a few issues with the Krakoan Age, but I can't deny that it would be a good setting for this, or a Children of the Atom sequel.

I played Super Mario kart and Mario kart 64 at friends houses, but I wasn't any good at them. Wii was the first one I owned and played through each stage. But honestly, Mariokart 7 on the 3DS is the one I spent the most time with, aiming to unlock everything and getting 3 stars on each track.

Re: Exclusive: "There's Always A New Mess!" - Turning Real Life (And A Real Cat) Into A Tidying Up Game
When I first saw this game (I think possibly during one of Geoff Keighley's presentations?) I immediately resonated with it.
The daily missions sound pretty impressive, and really help balance the "time vs money" value of the game.
(Also, thats a solid stack of NES games. Yoshi's Cookie is so underrated.)

@StephenFox Yeah, its honestly astounding how much of a difference it makes to be able to throw the eggs.
