So you're telling me that after I spent my ENTIRE childhood playing NES games, and then immediately went into spending all my adult money on Nintendo merch... and I'M still not part of the Nintendo generation!?
That is some major BS. I'm just as physically deficient as your run of the mill Zoomer, and my bones are twice as brittle. And yet THEY get to be the Nintendo Generation?
Thats it. I'm officially boycotting the Army, and I will not be joining their ranks out of spite, thankyouverymuch.
@Deerock69 @Moonlessky
In case you're still having issues, try going into the Switch settings and recalibrating the joystick (or update the firmware if you haven't already)
If that doesn't help, you can toggle sprinting off and on by clicking in the Left joystick (L3) It made a huge difference for me, and overall improved my experience.
I fear that I may have contracted the candy blight myself, but I haven't had a medical check up for the last 10 years. I gotta do better.
I don't actually play Animal Crossing, so I can't visit the island. But just by the island existing and creating a conversation around it, at least I'm able feel the adequate amount of shame that may push me to get that done someday.
They had taken down the MyNintendo rewards store, then brought it back for about a month or so, and then took it down again.
I was really hoping that with the new storefront, they would have a better selection of items to spend Platinum Points on, but looks like the link still goes to an 'Error' page. That big jar is overflowing, and I need something to spend these points on thats not a jpeg.
It breaks my heart, because my original 3DS was stolen, and while I was able to re-download all my games, my Activity Log was scrapped. This report tells me that Team Kirby Crash Deluxe was my #1 game, which is almost disrespectful of the hundreds of hours I poured into Kid Icarus Uprising
I am fond of Rescue Rangers... I enjoy Lonely Island... these sort of 4th wall IP jumble movies can be fun stories... but this just doesn't seem like a good fit.
They had a brief shot of Roger Rabbit and I immediately thought "This movie would be much better as a Roger Rabbit sequel"
Anyway. As far as the NES games go, I was always appreciative of Co-op multiplayer games since there were very few good ones that didn't have you either play against each other or take turns. Rescue Rangers 2 might actually be my favorite co-op game. As the middle child, I got to play it as both the younger sibling tagging along, and later as the older sibling leading the charge.
I feel like this was the first direct where the covid delays were really apparent. Xenoblade aside, just about everything from Nintendo was an add-on or a remaster from a previous project and a bunch of 3rd party ports.
All things considered, it was still a strong showing, but its so hard to compare to times when production was running at full force.
I'm excited as hell for the Portal Collection and "free" Mariokart DLC, so I didn't feel like I was leaving empty handed.
I've dreamt about what a Mother 3 remaster could look like. Knowing thats the sprites were based off of clay models, I've always thought this would be the perfect choice. And yet somehow this video blows all those expectations out of the water. This is a fantastic tribute and its heartbreaking that its only a tribute and nothing more.
@Anti-Matter I also had my first proper introduction to RPGs with FFVII and VIII, (unless you count pokemon) I didn't actually get around to playing Earthbound until the year that the Wii was released, so I have no nostalgia for it during the SNES era, like I do with Super Mario World or Steet Fighter II. And I was mostly just curious about who Ness from Smash Bros was.
I can tell you that even though it takes a moment to find your groove, it's an incredibly sincere and heartfelt game that's funny and charming all the way through. I didn't think it would be the kind of game I would enjoy playing, but it absolutely won me over. I'd recommend at least giving it a try if you have the Nintendo Online account anyway. It might not win you over, but if it does then you'll be glad you went for the ride.
Will give this a spin later. I know it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, but I've been having issues walking in a straight line. They keep breaking their sprint and slowing to a walk over and over.
I'm pretty sure this is tied to changing the settings to increase the motion control settings (from 0 to 1) Put it back on 0, and they would walk just fine in one steady sprint.
Its a shame because the motion controls make aiming so much easier. Hoping they can patch this so I can have it both ways
Something about watching each new glitch palette come up was strangely thrilling. I love how NES Tetris is still making waves and breaking records in the gaming community over 30 years after its release. Between this and "rolling control" techniques, its a pretty thrilling time for the Tetris scene
Look Nick... I got Mario & Rabbids on sale for $9.99. Thats the beginning and end of my monetary transaction with Ubisoft for this product. Stop adding extra steps to the process.
His work on Mortal Kombat is basically the catalyst of how the ESRP was formed, so its definitely been a huge part of gaming history.
But as far as his Pinball career goes, I absolutely love playing on the Black Knight tables that I know Ed Boon had a large part in designing. You got the power! You got the might!
I play a LOT more games now as a grown ass man than I did as a kid or teen.
I have considered there might be addiction at play.
That being said, I've been able to go months without playing anything at all, and instead of using all that free time to be proactive and productive, I just binge watched a lot more TV than normal and messed around on my phone for most of the day.
I'm really into Bomberman, and have been since NES days. Even with Bomberman 64, I had ton of hours poured into it thanks to multiplayer mode.
So believe me when I say that I was really looking forward to this game.
I played it twice, and then uninstalled it a couple weeks later. And this was even during the early Switch days when I was desperate for new games to play.
Just to be clear... the 90's Mortal Kombat movie was a trashy cheesy mess, but the cinematography was on point. Annihilation had no redeeming qualities.
The reboot was just "okay". Not interesting enough to be good, and not cheesy enough to be funny like a cult classic. Very "meh" but watchable
1) a proper title
2) release date
3) new gameplay trailer
4) haha, I made a joke list! But seriously, I'd like to see save data from BotW carry over. So, if you had completed the Master Trial on easy, intermediate, or hard, then the Master Sword will retain its increased damage in the new game. (Also the portraits in Link's house! )
Same. I have yet to play a single Annapurna game that I wasn't absolutely charmed by. I'll definitely keep this on my radar.
(That being said, I'd avoid getting certain titles like Florence at full price, so might need to wait for it to go on sale first depending on the replay value)
I had the original Breakout on Atari 2600, but the little knob controller that goes with it was broken so I never really played it.
That being said, I played a TON of Arkanoid on the NES, and a crude version of Breakout on a TI-83 graphing calculator that kept me from being bored in class.
Not sure what 'sub-genre' of game bouncy balls falls under, but it is one I am a fan of.
Might pick it up depending on price point, but honestly I'm biding my time for Atari to release 'Missile Command' recharged.
I remember a friend in high school swearing up and down that Charizard was unlockable in the N64 Smash bros game and that he'd seen it with his own eyes. I think this was his "older brother's" doing, so not quite an uncle but very much the same vibe.
Ever since I dabbled in SD Gundam models way way back, I've never once thought that "Super Deformed" was a good choice of words when we have perfectly good adjectives like "chibi" or "mini" sitting right there.
But clearly it just hits the ears nice when Japanese is your primary language
@Zverik Same here! I absolutely loved Sayonara Wild Hearts, and have adored everything else I've played by Annapurna so far, so I was pretty much on board with this game from the start.
I was a little over a decade late in finding out about these games, but I've played the SNES and GBA versions, and would definitely give the switch version a try.
I've fallen off the wagon. I played a couple games with Dragonite (loved it, by the way... no issues there) but then life caught up to me for a bit, and now I just have zero interest to jump back in. I thought a new Pokemon reveal might spark the flame, but sadly, no. Not going to uninstall it just yet, I might just need a break from getting those daily play bonuses
My gut reaction was that a $20 ticket price was a hard no, but if this entire event is being hosted to raise funds in the first place, its a lot easier to justify. And I am genuinely interested in watching this over a live stream
The main benefit of attending E3 in person is being able to demo the games and talk to the developers.
The best way to simulate that would be a downloadable app that let's you demo the games via cloud streaming, and watch videos with the devs.
The server strain sounds like a lot, but comparing to the cost of running a physical convention hall, I could absolutely see it saving a huge wad of cash.
@Everett_psycho I'm exactly in the "cleared 2BC then hit a wall for ages" stage of playing. I put it down for a few months, but I just bought the DLC, so maybe this will be the time I get to 3BC
@Milton_Burle There's a few options to help out. Once you unlock "custom mode" you can remove any unwanted weapons/skills from the rotation. As long as you have a certain number of items and skills activated (I think its 20?) then you can still progress in the game and unlock new endings like normal.
Or, to do the opposite of that, you can remove all items except for the 2 or 3 that are your favorites, and blow through the game more easily. You won't unlock anything for beating it this way, but it's good practice for when you're ready for the real thing.
I love how the Ubisoft games, which are perpetually discounted each week, sort of just stepped over the line and said "Yes! We are also part of this New Years sale!"
This is a pretty fantastic showing, regardless. Already picked a couple things up and put some Christmas gift cards to use
@Chozo from what I understand, the SoTN port was funded directly by Sony using PS specific firmware. So its up to Sony whether or not Switch gets a port.
XBox and Nintendo have been playing friendly with each other for a while now, so this can still wind up on the Switch at some point. If it were a Sony release, then I'd be worried.
Okay. But I don't want to see high res 3D models. I want to see the 4k imaging from the original live footage they captured for the original game. If they can pull that off, then I'm all the way interested.
I really assumed that this was something akin to a 6-issue miniseries. I wonder if it gets deeper into the lore from the game, or if its just out there doing its own thing. I guess I need to put this on my radar, now.
I could see this park being centered around Pokemon Go interactivity, and honestly I'm not so sure that's even a bad thing. Aside from the fact that everyone will be glued to their phone screens even more than usual.
Watching the tides turn from Tickle Me Elmo to Furby, and the Black Friday chaos that ensued, was when I finally began to understand that most of my childhood was one big marketing ploy.
As I look over to my collection of 30+ Amiibos, I realize that I have not yet been able to break the cycle.
