Re: Poll: 10 Years On, Which Version Of Zelda: Majora's Mask Is Best?

ChromaticDracula

I beat this game when it came out in N64 only once. I was working toward a second completion on 3DS but never finished it…
That being said, I can’t even believe there is a debate here: the 3DS version has the bombers notebook improvements, which alone makes me choose that version. It’s by far the better version (because of gyro aiming, sharper graphics, portability…) unless I am really missing something…

…I keep meaning to go back and beat it. Someday I’ll fire up my 3DS and give it a go again. It’s not my favorite Zelda but also not my least favorite. That feeling of the constant time limit/impending doom is such a double edged sword… I can’t deal with it sometimes!

Edit: bomber’s notebook improvements

@brunojenso without any other port or version to compare it to, my experience with Rogue Flight on switch has been a delight. It’s buttery smooth, and fast-paced, if nothing else. It’s not like 4k sharp but I was never caught off guard by anything because I couldn’t see it or it was too blurry.
Sorry, it’s hard for me to answer the question well because it’s the only version I’ve played. It’s one of my favorites on switch right now though! I’ve been recommending it to everyone.

Re: Nintendo Music Adds Golden Sun Soundtrack, Here's Every Song Included

ChromaticDracula

Wow I was not expecting this and it appears I am not alone.
I am 100% listening to this tomorrow at work. In fact, I’ve been playing game soundtracks exclusively while at work for the past month or so. When the next King Gizzard album releases that’s when I’ll go back to “regular” music but for now it’s been parasite eve and shin megami tensei v, all the way, every day.

Re: Poll: Is It Finally Time For Castlevania To Rise Again?

ChromaticDracula

I voted go back to the SOTN style but we all know for that to be possible, Iga would have to come back. But Iga is and has been working on his own stuff.

So, I’d be interested in a new side scroller style that doesn’t play it safe and that doesn’t try to just reboot the whole thing and “start from scratch.”
That being said, I’m interested in another SOTN style or a 3D lords of shadow style but really hoping it’s a like a Metroid Dread 2.5D kind of thing.
Ok I’m clearly all over the place here… I just want a new Castlevania game that is purposely nostalgic but also tastefully breathes new life into the franchise but is respectful to it.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Timings For The Switch 2 Direct In April

ChromaticDracula

For as excited as I am, I might be fine waiting until the initial hype dies down and get it around the holidays. I have such a massive backlog and I’m generally still very happy with my launch day switch and switch lite.
What’s really going to break me on that though, is if Metroid is a launch title. I’ll get in line so fast and eat my words.

Re: Capcom's Best-Selling Mega Man Game Reaches Another Sales Milestone

ChromaticDracula

@NicolausCamp holy crap, seriously??
I wasn’t aware of that, last one I played was X4 on PS1! I’m going to check that out… I have the X collection on Switch but never played X5 or beyond. 😬
But yeah that’s definitely the direction I want to see things go…. A few more options in the move-set and keep the ability to gain armor upgrades that change your appearance.

Re: Nintendo Music Adds Another Pokémon Soundtrack, Here's Every Song Included

ChromaticDracula

I love the Nintendo music app so much.
Haven’t played this game yet but maybe once I hear the soundtrack I’ll be tipped over the line to finally give it a go. …Aaaaaand maybe I’ll just wait for the next mainline game…

I’ll take the Sun and Moon soundtrack next please! Those are still my favorite in the entire series. It had everything and I think it was Pokémon fully realized and perfected at its peak. Massive Pokédex, the Alolan forms were cool, the Z-moves were my favorite feature to ever grace Pokémon (it was like your Pokémon could turn super saiyan.)

Re: Sega Launches Its Own Free Account Service With Unique Member Rewards

ChromaticDracula

Exciting for Sega fans but by simply recalling the corporate direction with subscriptions these days, it's hard to get excited. Must temper expectations... If this becomes a subscription, I'm going to be very angry. But if it stays as an account, I'll probably sign up but I don't want more launchers and signing into stuff. It shouldn't be a requirement to connect to online to play single player games and stuff.

Re: So, Have You Pre-Ordered Donkey Kong Country Returns HD For Switch?

ChromaticDracula

I definitely want it but I don’t want to spend $60 on it. I bought the same game on 3DS for much cheaper, half the price I believe, so it’s quite difficult to justify.
Will likely buy it on sale or with some kind of voucher to bring the price down a bit.
I think $50 would’ve been much more fair and would’ve gotten them an instabuy from me.
