I’ll be the first one to say when crediting, you have to draw the line somewhere but leaving Grant out is pure a-holeish. The song might be owned by Nintendo but why does that mean they don’t give credit where credit is due?! Their reason is NOT a good reason. Grant deserves credit…

With Shinobi 3 being in my top 3 Genesis games and one of my favorite games of all time, this is an instabuy or whatever the kids are calling it nowadays.
Hopefully the soundtrack goes for sale (I already own the Shinobi 3 soundtrack — thanks Data Discs — and have it on when running so I’ll want to add this one as well!)

How many years have I gone to GameStop with trade in’s with books and manuals and boxes and they told me “none of that matters, it depends on the condition of the disc/cart, etc.”
Now all of a sudden they want the box for the console and it somehow factors into the price.
I feel like they’re just going to toss the box anyway.

I’m going next month! I was going to bring my switch lite for the plane but might opt for the 3DS instead now.
Hopefully those … ahem…. with cfw don’t run into an issue getting these street passes 😬

WAKE ME UP WHEN ODDVENTURE IS FINALLY ANNOUNCED FOR SWITCH! There was an article about it in 2021 saying it was releasing in 2022 for Switch.
Needless to say, I’ve been waiting a loooong time for that one.

Landstalker and Shining Force 2 being in the top 10 is well-deserved.

I mean, it would’ve been cool to get them but it’s no way a deal breaker. Technically there are more input options if they were analog (I.e. metal gear solid 2, light press draw and aim weapon, hard press fire weapon, etc) but I’ve been playing with non-analogue controllers for years. A part of me was hoping for them but it’s fine especially since we’ll have the GameCube controller now. It’s really just games with accelerators/thrusters that are “affected” nowadays.

Ok, this made my night… honestly it’s been (or it feels like it’s been) FOREVER since we got a Genesis/Mega Drive NSO update!
This is a delectable trio of bangers right here! I really enjoy the selection on there because it’s not just the same run of the mill Sega rehashes. Absolutely playing SOR ASAP. I’m so close to pulling the trigger on an NSO Genesis controller.

I hadn’t really thought about it but this is a good point. At that asking price, paid DLC would really chap some butts.
In any case, the longer they wait to release paid DLC, if any, the better. Maybe like after 3 years…

I’m wondering about weather effects in this. Like a previous commenter, I’ve been avoiding any media around this so as not to spoil anything for myself. All I know is open world Mario kart and that actually is enough to sell it to me as is.
But I’m wondering about weather effects and like general overworld anomalies that might occur like tornados and whatever else. Could really spice things up I think. Definitely getting this when I eventually get my hands on a Switch 2. (Still sour they didn’t call it a “super switch” officially; that’s what I’ll be calling it )

I made a pact with myself back in the PS2 era that I would never buy an entire new console for 1 game. Right now, my “one game” is Metroid. Luckily it’s a cross platform release so I get to get my game and keep my console but yeah.. I knew from before the announcement I wasn’t getting this console day 1. I have a perfectly working switch and switch lite and a huge backlog of games. Plus I have a ps5 and a lot of the games announced for switch 2 I already own on ps5.
For these reason, I was never in a hurry so I’m good for now. I’ll get a switch 2 maybe around the holidays or next year sometime once some new-new games come out.

I’m here to trash the PS5 controller: seriously, it’s rare I get to play a game for a long time in one sitting… maybe a few hours at the max. Even then, my PS5 controller rarely makes it through that sitting. I’ve actually had to stop playing because my battery was about to die.
For that reason it gets my vote as worst battery life ever. The feedback is great but the battery is OOF.
Point being, I really hope Nintendo was able to strike a nice balance because between the Wii U Pro controller and the Switch Pro controller, those are the best controllers in terms of battery. The endurance on those things is insane. Hoping Switch 2 Pro controller can make it a 3 for 3!! I’d trade battery life for haptics any day!

I’m at that fine line right now where it’s like, “do I keep my preorder for Analogue 3D or do I cancel and just stick with N64 NSO.”
I’d love the cancel my subscription because I absolutely detest subscriptions but also… this is a really good deal and they’re adding some really good games and features. That button remapping is a literal game changer for FPS because now I don’t have to mess with things in the global Switch settings to make a specific N64 FPS scheme. I know this new way will function mostly the same but it’s just more streamlined and considered.
If they drop Bomberman 64 and Castlevania 64, I’m really going to be in a hard spot.

How is it a limited time production? It reads like “we can only produce so many of these!” When it’s really more like “we’ll only produce so many of these by choice!”

It’s literally just a box design that’s limited. It’s not like the box will be bigger to house the game case or something. It’s a download code.

I noticed this during the direct!!! Admittedly I think I saw it and my brain saw crafted world but clearly it was wooly world. There was a brain and eye sight disconnect.
… speaking of, Nintendo please combine Yoshis wooly world and Kirby Epic Yarn into one game and let me play as Yoshi in the one game and Kirby in the opposite. Think of it like playing as Knuckles in Sonic 1.

@Skunkfish same!! I’m only about 4 hours in. I should’ve waited but I never expected it to come out for switch 2!
At this point now I have no motivation to even continue before I get too far and have to redo it on Switch 2.
It’s really just because I don’t always have access to the TV and I’d benefit immensely from being able to play handheld. (Not interested in PS Portal.)

😫 I literally JUST bought it on PS5 on sale last weekend for the first time. The game is great!
Haven’t been able to play it much though because the TV has been in use. If I get this on Switch 2, and I can play handheld, that will solve that problem

This game is honestly really good. Can’t speak for it at launch but I got it about 4 months ago and WOW. It’s my favorite Star Wars game since shadows of the empire on N64. It has everything and the sound is stellar! Switch 2 is going to make me sell my PS5 and just get all my games over again on Switch 2. Having the option to play them handheld is really a game changer (again.)

I’m still sour we never got virtual boy games on 3DS. It would’ve been a complete revival.

@KryptoniteKrunch same, I can’t understand why people can be so narrow minded. Nintendo is innovating. If you want just another console then just get a PlayStation or an Xbox or stick with your OG switch.

When they first showed the character still all cool-like with the things between his fingers, I was like, “is that Shohei Yakumo from Shin Megami Tensei V?!”
Then they said Devil Summoner and I was like, “is it him and he is getting a spinoff?!”
I can’t unsee it now… game looks absolutely awesome and I’m probably getting it. never played this entry before and I will support Shin Megami Tensei until the day I die.

I really love this so much. Nintendo is becoming less and less reliant on other services to push their own information and content out.
We got the music app, the Nintendo online chat app, and now this news app. I love that for them and it feels like they’re in pursuit of being a fully independent content company. Go Nintendo!

It’s criminal this isn’t more widely available. I have the DS version thankfully but would love to play this more modern consoles, ideally the ability to play both on TV and handheld at will ::cough cough:: Switch/2.
They would have had to release it by now if they weren’t working on a remaster/remake. I’m highly confident we’ll see one of the above this generation.

Started the game today for the first time and I can tell it’s something very special, even just a mira hour in. I’m so happy to have all these on Switch!

Anybody recommend blade runner? I’ve always wanted to play it but never have… I remember some saying it wasn’t good or something, but at that price 👀

I rented that so many times… always felt new. I still love booting that up on the weekend evenings and I get that exact same feeling.

I’m going to try these out! Not familiar with any of them. Honestly love the feeling of booting a new SNES game on a Friday evening (or weekend evening). It’s the same feeling of renting one back in the day, coming home with it not knowing 100% what to expect, only going off the cover art and screenshots on the back. Fun times!

I have tickets for May! I don’t really know what to expect at the museum but that’s half the fun and I’m really excited!

HELL YES!! I am SO happy I waited buying these!! I was hoping they would release them like this! Absolutely buying this collection physically. I have 1 on 3DS and I really enjoyed it so I can’t wait to finally play the others.

This soundtrack is really good and I always love when game studios and devs release their game soundtracks on Bandcamp. I’m going to buy this later today when I get to work. I’m getting Tunic/Hyper Light Drifter vibes and that’s a really good thing… I’ve been mainlining shin megami tensei v’s soundtrack (❤️) but I think I’ll be switching over to this for a bit.

Oh cool, my least favorite design choice in Scarlet/Violet is now literally real.

I may argue, it pulls it off better in real life than it does in the video game somehow.
I just don’t care for the “anthropomorphic” stuff Pokémon is doing: bags of garbage are Pokémon, melting ice cream is a Pokémon, a piece of hardware is a Pokémon… a Pokémon that somehow is a motorbike? Seems weird and uninspired to me.

That being said, I’m always open to the next game. Hopefully they get back to some cool design choices like the original 151 or some of gen 2.

Yeah they changed the core DNA of the game. It’s arguably not even the same game now

Good news for me as someone who was waiting for a discount on this one! The game looks great (and I loved the demo) so I’m likely buying this very soon.

This is great!! I adore this game so it’s really nice seeing these improvements. I’m due for another playthrough, I usually go for one once a year around summer.

Someone, or a group of folks, would have to play every game ever to compare them to one another and have the ability to reference specific things between them within an “arms reach” at a time to determine plagiarism. For as much as I despise AI in general (artistic plagiarism, long term impacts on the human mind, environmental impacts, etc.), this would be a great way to utilize it: comparing games before they get published on storefronts.
It’s really embarrassing that these storefronts allow it but again, I don’t have a good solution for it other than using AI to run them through and “check” them.

I am so happy to see Demonschool on the list. I keep reminding myself it’s coming and I’m so excited for it—the devs really seem like they’re cooking up something special.
It makes me want a Devil Survivor remastered double pack or something on Switch. Those games are also something very special!

I often do end up eventually selling an old console but this one I won’t be selling. I have a lite and a regular launch day. I may end up selling the lite but we’ll see. My wife got me my Switch for Xmas in 2017 so that’s got a lot of sentimental value for me. If she gets me the 2, and the 2 truly plays everything from 1, maybe I’d sell the original.

I always heard you don’t get a skell until late in the game but from the sounds of it, that’s not the case. Can’t wait to play this!
