This is a solid list- kudos to the artists putting the work in for these! Can’t imagine even Nintendo would think this would blow up to what it is now.
Omg this looks amazing. Not even really focusing too much on the adult nature of it, it just looks like a really cool homage for us who grew up with the original red/blue/yellow and want a little more oomph with a side of nostalgia. I’ll be getting this! I need to read a bit more about it but I wonder if there is a ROM version available so I can play it on my Analogue Pocket.
These are all good games!! Rayman 2 was awesome and I’m happy to have the 3DS port. Forsaken was mine-blowing at the time with the lighting effects… Donkey Kong 64 is long overdue and they’d have to be nuts to not release the OG smash bros. I know each iteration is better than the last on the latter, so why go backwards, but seriously that game pulls at my nostalgia strings hard. I can’t wait to play these timed target practice missions for each character again!
@Broosh this just saved me from a purchase of an otherwise good-looking game. I want to make informed choices and I just don’t want to support AI when used like this.
When I was in Japan in May, I saw the box out for preorder at Game Hobby Kan and I was like omg I didn’t know this was out! I’m actually pretty excited about this one because of how radical and dark it is. Don’t have a Switch 2 just yet but it’s assuring knowing I’ll be able to upgrade for free when I eventually get my mitts on one. Now to decide which compliments the dark themes better: a clear switch 1 box or a bright blood red switch 2 box…
Well crap.. I remember when the first was announced and lots of folks were excited to finally get to 3. Well here we are and it sucks to say but I wish it hadn’t come at all, at least this way. I have the first and avoided the second because it seemed like the exact same complaints from 1 were present in 2. I decided to wait until 3 which is held as the best one in the series and wow what a let down. Womp womp.
I’ve always avoided games with procedural generation and now I’ll definitely be avoiding games that use AI as well.
I’m with some folks in here: they should really start releasing these older games in their old state but with some modern enchantments like fast forward, rewind, save states, and like… cleaned up sound maybe. These half finished half baked half arse “remasters” are not worth anyone’s time. I like either end of the scale: original version or a full blown remake like silent hill 2 remake. This in between stuff can really destroy your fan base.
Death Stranding 2 this weekend and for a loooooong time into the future! I think the only thing that’s going to break me away from this run is if the Analogue 3D actually releases in July — then it’ll be Bomberman 64, Castlevania legacy of darkness, and all my other N64 games that I’ll jump over to.
I just cancelled my preorder of Death Stranding 2…. AND BOUGHT IT DIGITAL!
The first one is incredible and sort of changed who I am as a person now. The second one I’ve been waiting for forever and it’s finally out! I’m so excited it’s finally here! I have it installing now. (If you buy digital, you get 2 days early access)
If it ever comes to Switch 2 I’d probably double dip just because I’m sure there would be some more Nintendo references sprinkled in like they did MGS3. Even if not, it’s basically an instabuy for me because I love it that much.
Good grief… I played my friend’s Switch 2 and the blurring was easily very much not worse than 2017’s switch’s screen. I was actually quite impressed with it. I have an OG switch as well as a switch lite and I feel Switch 2’s screen is the easily the best of the 3 on all fronts. That’s my opinion though I guess.
Played the demo on PS5 and really didn’t click with me. Gameplay felt kind of shallow and felt like they were leaning way too heavily on the looks of the… ahem… characters… for everything. Cool for those who want to play this and haven’t had a chance to try it but I’ll pass. It’s kind of cringy and awkward playing it around other people too.
Whichever is more power efficient should be the one they use (LCD/OLED). I don’t have a switch 2 yet but hearing how folks are getting like 2-3 hours out of their new handheld is making me nervous about the whole thing. I can deal with the smearing stuff, it really doesn’t bother me, I’m just more concerned with extending the battery life as much as possible.
Buying this AND Shinobi. Slightly looking more forward to Shinobi but this looks great in its own way. Hopefully the controls aren’t wildly different between the two. I plan to bounce back and forth between the 2 and that may be troublesome for me!
I’m going to regret having sold the game months ago aren’t I?
I was only 1 gym deep and I just chose not to play it solely on principle and I genuinely thought it was a mess. This looks like the version we should’ve gotten from the get-go 😫
I can’t for the life of me figure out how to add my calendar to the Nintendo app. Ideally I want Nintendo’s widget to replace my own on my iOS home screen. Nintendo’s is much more exciting and colorful than the big white block of iOS’.
EDIT: I got it… my app wasn’t updated even though in the app it said the feature was present.
Just tap the gear on the Nintendo calendar (upper right on the calendar tab) in the app and the option is right there to “Link”

You can complain when you get the system on its intended/planned date and you can’t get it to work that day. Anything before should not raise any concern to anyone… I am willing to bet it doesn’t require a download to work on day 01. It’s likely a timed internal thing that prevents it from working before the street date, in which case, good on them for implementing it. Sucks to be early sometimes.
Correction: guess it is next week 😬
I thought we had 2 weeks to go… cannot believe it’s basically June already.
Love 3 (even though I still need to go back and finish it) so I’m absolutely picking up 1+2. Honestly really excited for it, especially releasing late in the year, the perfect time for cozy RPGs…. 😍
When I see “travel case”, I think taking it on a plane. This would absolutely not be a plane-friendly case. It would count as its own carry-on/personal item in itself. Would much rather the style case the switch lite has with the clamshell design so I can just toss it into my backpack.
It’s a nice case but I’m not the target market for it and that’s fine by me.
Was NOT expecting to read about Mario 64 today haha That’s really cool… reminds me of the supposed (haven’t played it personally just yet) bugs with the oblivion remaster where it apparently slows down the more you play because of this kind of overflow stuff. But here we are with Mario 64, fully optimized for older hardware, overflow prevention built in. I don’t know what I’m getting at but cool to contrast I guess.
I want to see Demon School higher up on this list! I cannot wait for that and I’m so happy it finally has a “final” release schedule. Happy they took time to get things just right with the previous delay. I’ve been dying for a Devil Survivor 1+2 port/double pack or whatever on Switch so this could hold me over. I can always go back to the 3DS to play the DS games I guess.
This came out of nowhere! I’m always up for this type of stuff in any combination.
I need to see some gameplay though because the screenshots are hard to go off. Thanks for covering this, it’s would’ve went right over my head or under my radar.
Just watched a trailer— Holy crap it’s first person! I thought this was third-person. I see the weapons in the screen edges now. The game looks phenomenal going off the official trailer! Definitely buying this, it’s creepy AF.
This trailer is the first I spent time watching and WOW. It looks like it might hold its own against Armored Core 6! If I were getting Switch 2 on launch, this would be one of the games I’d be getting ASAP.
I’m sorry if I missed this detail but how do you get an invite? Did I have to register for that interest in switch 2 lottery thingy a while back? Just not clear where they’re pulling names from… I do want one of these pretty badly so if I can double my chances of getting one, I want to go that route!
Wake me up when they add the block feature to block publisher’s entire catalogs on your own page. That was a great idea I’d love to see implemented.
Or you can block certain games…
How many times do I need to see AAA clock? Didn’t buy it then, not buying it now. Let me block it to free up real estate for other titles I may be interested in.
I’ll be the first one to say when crediting, you have to draw the line somewhere but leaving Grant out is pure a-holeish. The song might be owned by Nintendo but why does that mean they don’t give credit where credit is due?! Their reason is NOT a good reason. Grant deserves credit…
With Shinobi 3 being in my top 3 Genesis games and one of my favorite games of all time, this is an instabuy or whatever the kids are calling it nowadays. Hopefully the soundtrack goes for sale (I already own the Shinobi 3 soundtrack — thanks Data Discs — and have it on when running so I’ll want to add this one as well!)
How many years have I gone to GameStop with trade in’s with books and manuals and boxes and they told me “none of that matters, it depends on the condition of the disc/cart, etc.” Now all of a sudden they want the box for the console and it somehow factors into the price. I feel like they’re just going to toss the box anyway.
I’m going next month! I was going to bring my switch lite for the plane but might opt for the 3DS instead now. Hopefully those … ahem…. with cfw don’t run into an issue getting these street passes 😬
WAKE ME UP WHEN ODDVENTURE IS FINALLY ANNOUNCED FOR SWITCH! There was an article about it in 2021 saying it was releasing in 2022 for Switch. Needless to say, I’ve been waiting a loooong time for that one.
I mean, it would’ve been cool to get them but it’s no way a deal breaker. Technically there are more input options if they were analog (I.e. metal gear solid 2, light press draw and aim weapon, hard press fire weapon, etc) but I’ve been playing with non-analogue controllers for years. A part of me was hoping for them but it’s fine especially since we’ll have the GameCube controller now. It’s really just games with accelerators/thrusters that are “affected” nowadays.
Ok, this made my night… honestly it’s been (or it feels like it’s been) FOREVER since we got a Genesis/Mega Drive NSO update!
This is a delectable trio of bangers right here! I really enjoy the selection on there because it’s not just the same run of the mill Sega rehashes. Absolutely playing SOR ASAP. I’m so close to pulling the trigger on an NSO Genesis controller.
I hadn’t really thought about it but this is a good point. At that asking price, paid DLC would really chap some butts. In any case, the longer they wait to release paid DLC, if any, the better. Maybe like after 3 years…
I’m wondering about weather effects in this. Like a previous commenter, I’ve been avoiding any media around this so as not to spoil anything for myself. All I know is open world Mario kart and that actually is enough to sell it to me as is. But I’m wondering about weather effects and like general overworld anomalies that might occur like tornados and whatever else. Could really spice things up I think. Definitely getting this when I eventually get my hands on a Switch 2. (Still sour they didn’t call it a “super switch” officially; that’s what I’ll be calling it )
I made a pact with myself back in the PS2 era that I would never buy an entire new console for 1 game. Right now, my “one game” is Metroid. Luckily it’s a cross platform release so I get to get my game and keep my console but yeah.. I knew from before the announcement I wasn’t getting this console day 1. I have a perfectly working switch and switch lite and a huge backlog of games. Plus I have a ps5 and a lot of the games announced for switch 2 I already own on ps5. For these reason, I was never in a hurry so I’m good for now. I’ll get a switch 2 maybe around the holidays or next year sometime once some new-new games come out.
I’m here to trash the PS5 controller: seriously, it’s rare I get to play a game for a long time in one sitting… maybe a few hours at the max. Even then, my PS5 controller rarely makes it through that sitting. I’ve actually had to stop playing because my battery was about to die. For that reason it gets my vote as worst battery life ever. The feedback is great but the battery is OOF. Point being, I really hope Nintendo was able to strike a nice balance because between the Wii U Pro controller and the Switch Pro controller, those are the best controllers in terms of battery. The endurance on those things is insane. Hoping Switch 2 Pro controller can make it a 3 for 3!! I’d trade battery life for haptics any day!
I’m at that fine line right now where it’s like, “do I keep my preorder for Analogue 3D or do I cancel and just stick with N64 NSO.” I’d love the cancel my subscription because I absolutely detest subscriptions but also… this is a really good deal and they’re adding some really good games and features. That button remapping is a literal game changer for FPS because now I don’t have to mess with things in the global Switch settings to make a specific N64 FPS scheme. I know this new way will function mostly the same but it’s just more streamlined and considered. If they drop Bomberman 64 and Castlevania 64, I’m really going to be in a hard spot.
How is it a limited time production? It reads like “we can only produce so many of these!” When it’s really more like “we’ll only produce so many of these by choice!” Printed box + digital game + system. It’s literally just a box design that’s limited. It’s not like the box will be bigger to house the game case or something. It’s a download code.
It’s manufactured fomo. I get it but come on, Nintendo! The financial climate is rough now, can’t you do until like… January 2026?

For these reason, I was never in a hurry so I’m good for now. I’ll get a switch 2 maybe around the holidays or next year sometime once some new-new games come out.
Re: Opinion: No One Is Talking About The Switch 2's Best Feature
Re: Nvidia: Switch 2 Has "10x The Graphics Performance Of The Nintendo Switch"
Cool. It’s not about graphics.
Re: Surprise! The N64 App Is Also Getting Some Enhancements On Switch 2
This is actually really huge news.
I’m at that fine line right now where it’s like, “do I keep my preorder for Analogue 3D or do I cancel and just stick with N64 NSO.”
I’d love the cancel my subscription because I absolutely detest subscriptions but also… this is a really good deal and they’re adding some really good games and features.
Re: Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle Will Be A "Limited Time" Offer
How is it a limited time production? It reads like “we can only produce so many of these!” When it’s really more like “we’ll only produce so many of these by choice!”
Printed box + digital game + system.
It’s literally just a box design that’s limited. It’s not like the box will be bigger to house the game case or something. It’s a download code.
It’s manufactured fomo. I get it but come on, Nintendo! The financial climate is rough now, can’t you do until like… January 2026?
