Why release Pikmin 2 when it’s already available on Switch???
Ok, if they’re going to do that, and have Pikmin 2 take up an entire slot, release a 3rd game that is not available elsewhere. This is Turok 2 all over again. It’s just stupid how we usually get games in pairs, and one of the only 2 is already available in an arguably better form.
Cool news for people that don’t own the switch version but really crappy for us diehards that already do.

Oh man this is almost my dream controller. I JUST ordered a Backbone about 2 days ago so I can play Death Stranding on iOS on the go. If this were available I may have gone for this instead!

I will be getting this for a few reasons. Some are: the overworld in the screenshots reminds me of the Ice King Adventure Time 3DS game — which was inspired by Zelda II. That game was underrated (or was it, I don’t know, I just know I loved it.) The color palette also reminds me of The Simpsons: Bart vs Space Mutants game on Genesis. Too much nostalgia to ignore here!

I loved reading this, I love reading/hearing other’s gaming traditions. They should just rename Christmas Day to Video Game Day haha. (I know that wouldn’t go over well!)
I remember getting Turok 2, Rogue Squadron, and the gold Ocarina of time cart in 1998. The next year, in 1999, I was hoping for Resident Evil 2 but didn’t get it and I was upset. I ended up reluctantly playing Turok 2, the new game from the previous year, on Xmas day in 1999. Now, it’s my go to Xmas Eve and Day game because it just holds a lot of memories for me. Cassette Beasts is also now a big one from more recent times for me. It’s so cozy!

Played and beat the game on PS5 and it was very difficult since your character moves like a tank and many enemies move faster than you. It is one of those games though where you do progressively get stronger as you go on… Still, the additional difficulty is welcome! I want everyone to play and experience this game—IT’S A GEM!!!

My sister in law uses it as a tool like how it is discussed in this piece: she is an artist of sorts so when she has an idea, she prompts AI to conceptualize it and then goes full human hands on/AI-less to actually create it.
I honestly don’t have an argument against that even though I intrinsically don’t fully support it. I think AI has its uses for certain things but I don’t like how it’s just the Wild West and how it’s being forced onto everything.
I voted full-stop “conservative” up in the poll- I don’t want AI anywhere near me. It’s dumbing down humanity.

Mine is Cronos. The game is very difficult at times but it’s so rewarding and Kelly Burke’s voice acting is just so spot on. It’s such a cool universe and really leaves you with the feeling of wanting more out of it. Can’t wait to the eventual tv show/movie adaptation or even a sequel or prequel. Bloober really knocked it out of the park.

Also really really really hoping for Castlevania 64 (Legacy of darkness ideally) in some form, whether that’s NSO or the next Konami Castlevania collection.

Rayman comes at the perfect time!! I recall playing it around the holidays way back then, pausing it to go to my aunt’s holiday gathering, etc. I have the 3DS version and it’s great but I can’t wait to play this properly on the TV again!!

I didn’t vote because I’m not a fan of FPS Metroid. I mean, I am, but I’m a massively more enthusiastic fan of the 2D variant/timeline. I really just enjoy the Dread style more and always have.
I’m the same with Sonic games: 2D all the way.

Haven’t heard of ANY of these games! They sound like a collection of Nintendo Land (Wii U) games which without a doubt piques my interest. Still looking for that Donkey Kong’s Crash Course style game but expanded with more levels. Is that what Kosmo Spin is like?

This is one of my top 3 franchises and I buy each one in the series without question. Hands down, point to where I need to swipe my credit card, no words needed. But…. This time, with a massive backlog, without a switch 2, with prices of things being so high, and being absolutely enthralled with Cronos, I’m fine waiting for the eventual ~$10/20 price cut after the hype dies down. Normally I’d have this preordered and be deep in gameplay by now but, I just can’t spend the $70-$80 this time.

I’m upset Cronos isn’t on this list. Kelly Burke’s VA was stellar in it and so was Alan Turkington for that matter… I think the monotone voice acting was divisive but I absolutely love it. Anyway, that’s my Cronos rant.

@cylemmulo in the same boat here. I noticed this a few weeks ago when I saw the demo in my friend’s play history. I used the direct link to the eshop on that demo and it still didn’t show for me. Still not showing today. Where’s this demo?!

@SBandy1 it’s insane that they haven’t considered this for ya’ll plasma’ers and at least gave a toggle to turn those off. I hate even thinking about what you must feel every time you play these 😫

Honestly really looking forward to playing my NSO NES library tonight as we start to roll into the holiday tomorrow and the holiday season beyond. 😍
In a few weeks I’ll be doing my annual Link’s Awakening playthrough … such warm and cozy feelings right now.

HECK YES. This is one I’ve been waiting for, for •checks watch• A LONG TIME. Buying this one day one. I just hope I can finish Cronos The New Dawn before it releases because I don’t see myself being able to choose between the two.

Death Stranding 2! (Is that allowed since it’s not a Nintendo game? YET?)
Some of the most surreal, realistic, and crazy effects I’ve ever seen.

Design is cool but I’m priced out of it. No way can I justify that cost.
Hell, I’m priced out of Switch 2 altogether quite frankly. I’ll happily be putting my OG switch and ps5 through the paces for a few more years.

@Spider-Kev I agree 99%: base game was lacking a ton of the standard animal crossing stuff but what was there was impactful and fulfilling still.
I feel like they jumped to release version “A” quickly during the pandemic knowing it would be a hit and that they could instead update it to version B and C slowly over time.
I was a little sour myself but it’s a really a great game at its current state finally.
All that being said, I loved new leaf the most. It was FULL of secrets and nooks and crannies on release. New horizons was par-baked on release but shouldn’t be ignored now as it’s about to reach its perfect final form.

Not an owner of a switch 2 yet but absolutely getting the upgrade pack for my switch 1. Currently switching my OG switch island (Crateria) over to my lite for primarily handheld on the go play and to get ready for the update.
One thing I’m hoping is that the game boots much quicker on switch 2. This game takes FOR. EVER. to boot on a switch lite. 😫

I love that these systems connect to NSO and you can actually play them! This was something talked about a while back and it’s actually happening!

Unlimited inventory is a positive for me. I just want to experience the game and not have to backtrack constantly and all that. I understand that being an aspect of the tension but... nah, can't go back. Silent Hill 1/2/3 are examples of keeping the game scary while allowing unlimited inventory. Limited inventory is counter-intuitive to me. Like, carrying unlimited items around isn't okay but these chests that are all interlinked/connected somehow is (can access items I dropped in one from another?) I'll take my unlimited inventory, thank you!

The criticism here about the restriction to a single city is exactly why I decided in the very beginning to not get this any time soon. I’ve always enjoyed Pokémon because of the varying environments and going to a snow area or a lava area or a lake, etc. Without that, I’m not really driven to jump on this one just yet. I also don’t have a Switch 2 yet 😬…
Seems like this will be fun when I eventually pick it up on a sale though!

I think a lot of people miss the point of why this is a problem.
Animal Crossing is a very kid friendly game with very distinct, considered, and unique look.
Any knockoff copying that exact look can use the look but potentially have non-kid friendly content in it.
The issue is when the copycat starts having screenshots pop up of the non-kid-friendly content, or just something not within the original Animal Crossing vision and you can’t tell the difference between the games.
In this example, most folks will see the picture above and say “oh wow it’s animal crossing!” Imagine if the character had a racy outfit on or had a speech bubble with expletives inside it. The average joe sees that and starts thinking “wow Animal Crossing changed!”

Nobody should be copying that distinct look. Copy the gameplay but don’t copy the art style. They should be distinguishable from each other. This is a blatant ripoff.

Another example: nobody got mad when Axiom Verge released even though it had essentially the same gameplay as Metroid.
If your character looked like a reskinned Samus, it’d be a different story.

I LOVE that a woman is stepping into the position. Can’t believe Bowser is leaving already!

Game is a 9/10 for me. It’s brutally difficult even on normal for me though: first play, I used all my lives on level 1. Second play I got to level 3 and was utterly obliterated within the first 3 minutes or so. I’m thinking of dropping down to Easy just to beat the game once or twice, then I’ll ramp it up.
I’m also someone who has a very hard time with Thunder Force 3 though. Anyway, it’s been a long time coming and I’m absolutely stoked to play it and get further and further (and hopefully better lol).
