Lack of HD Rumble support on 3rd party controllers is still a real shame, and also inability to turn on the Switch 2 remotely (though maybe that'll come later, since at least SOME 3rd party Switch 1 controllers can wake it)
It's fun after a GP or online races and you want a break...or just to find new challenges and race around tributes to old courses before finding the next impossible P-switch to attempt over and over.
I dug up an old Logitech webcam and plugged it into one of the USB-A ports on the side of my dock and poof, it works just as well. Anyone interested in trying video Game Chat should try whatever random webcams they might have laying about first, at least until there's a higher-res piranha camera
Delivery people do this to us sometimes, but that's to avoid walking up the steps of our tall stoop...this guy just didn't want to walk a few steps down a flat path?!
Eh, I basically only play on 150cc and have for the past few Mario Karts...when I tried 200cc I felt like it broke a lot of the courses which were designed around the other classes.
I'd imagine even normal Switch games that do not get updates will run smoother on Switch 2 just because it has more power, and it feels like the dev kit for Switch 1 must have been running at a slightly higher clock speed than our retail Switches, which is why so many 3rd party games would have to send out performance patches for unexpected issues once their games launched. Also, as you can find on YouTube, overclocking the Switch fixes A LOT of performance issues in Switch 1 games, including Link's Awakening.
Maybe with more RAM reserved for the system it can keep something like the eshop or Nintendo Online app open in the background rather than always relaunching them. Also, as fun as folders were when they were finally added into the Switch 1, I wish there were better ways to sort your games, like by genre or year too.
@HeroEightBit The reason would be so that everyone's battery is protected from capacity loss due to full charging cycles. Some electric cars do this, where the "100%" reported by the car is actually lower so there's no way to harm the battery by fully charging it. This software option is helpful, but still means if you try to, or do not set it, you'll charge up to 100%, which wears on a battery more than stopping earlier.
Boooo, this has all the problems of needing to insert a physical card, without any of the benefits of games you buy digitally and have downloaded onto the system. Just means more games I will never buy physically.
I'm currently considering ideas that include keeping my joy-cons and passing the console itself onto someone else...who gets a Switch, but just needs to buy their own JoyCons for it
Only took about 2 hours last night of reloading lots of tabs...Walmart never let me through their queue and Target's site was so messed up, I couldn't put in my address or payment info and then it was sold out. Finally around 12:30am I got into the Best Buy queue, sat there until about 2am when it told me sold out. After picking my local store for pickup AGAIN, it put me into the queue and then I was able to order the system bundle for launch day pickup (or midnight?)
Hopefully this is a mistake/oversight and it'll get updated to reflect support for cloud saves..makes zero sense for a new launch game like DK to not support cloud save backups!
I really hope Switch 1 games will run at 1080p in handheld on Switch 2 since they already have that rendering/output mode built in without any update...the Switch 2 would just have to run them in their docked mode.
Why can't they manage to match the Nintendo camera? You can get 1080p webcams off Amazon for $10 or less, maybe someone else will make a cute camera for the Switch 2, otherwise I may just buy something random and test it out instead
Still better than having to use a phone app. I wonder if there will be a mode for JUST video chatting with people, outside of a game that might then work at a higher framerate/larger videos of people, would be fun when trying to decide what to play, or for afterward.
Yay, button remapping and rewind...now I just hope they let us do SINGLE BUTTON REWIND, aka allow us to remap a button to be rewind, like L, which is rarely if ever used on N64 anyway
I'm sad I missed out on the DKC theme last time around, and a couple from a year or so ago that still have yet to show up in the shop...wish they'd offer them
They should launch it at two price points, an LCD and OLED at launch...otherwise, like I did with the first Switch, I'll just stick with my launch day console throughout the lifespan. But I would be willing to pay more initially for OLED if that was offered.
I would much rather they stick with the smaller Switch case sizes instead of using more-standard DVD/Bluray cases like everyone else... or maybe even smaller like the 3DS/DS cases, it's not like the games are any bigger inside
Nice, glad they're adding some more racers into the N64 roster...would be amazing if we ever got Diddy Kong Racing, but I'd take Beetle Adventure Racing or Automobili Lamborghini if they're looking for suggestions
Nope Did not hear anything about a waitlist, but I can't imagine I'd get into that either...I'm sure demand was incredibly high and they seemingly only want to do these demos for a couple days.

over 3" thick though...
Re: Poll: Has Your Switch 2's Screen Got Any Nasty Scratches Yet?
I ordered a matte glass screen protector before the Switch 2 even came out, and immediately put it on before even powering it up for the first time...

Re: Nintendo Reportedly Banning Switch 2's Using MIG Cartridges
Pretty much since 3DS it was never advisable to go online or update a system you used a flash cart with or otherwise modified to pirate games...
Re: Talking Point: How Are You Finding Mario Kart's Open World?

Re: Poll: Do You Three-Star-Gold Every Mario World Grand Prix Before Moving On To The Next?
I'm just playing at 150cc, which clears all slower speeds if you beat that level.

As long as I can transfer over my Mii icon again I'll be happy

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?
NO, absolutely no reason whatsoever. If I want to buy a game physically, I want the game on the cart, otherwise I'd just assume buy it digitally.

Good list of games to just buy digitally, thanks!
