This happens in a few games, makes me think the dev kits are clocked higher than our retail units, so when testing they don't see any of the issues until after release and then have to go back and patch up performance. Perhaps Nintendo can just push out a performance patch for the OS so that games that need it can trigger the higher clock speed?
I might be the only person who preordered a Switch and BOTW and now am feeling kinda uninterested in this sequel...wake me when there's a new 2D Zelda, because the Link's Awakening remake and Link Between Worlds have been my last two favorite Zelda titles...
I'm voting for the NA cover since it better-represents the art style of this game, while the other is more hinting that they wished they could have done Yarn/Crafted-style games sooner.
Glad they're remembering the great Figment, who was cut from his own ride for a little while there before returning when they redid it a 3rd time. Now I hope they bring back the Imagination song too!
Not having coop in the main game is a deal-breaker, but also, why not offer 4 characters and have Batgirl too? Then they'd have two men and two women as playable characters! If they fix performance and added Batgirl I might consider it since our daughter is very into Batgirl...
Nintendo should totally copy this concept and make their own where it's a little clearer where the raceway is, but otherwise this is a great idea for a track that drives you through most areas of the game!
So I had a lot of fun with the 3DS themes and set my favorite 10 in a rotation so each time I start up, it's a new theme and song playing in the background.
Either the DS or 3DS for the wireless multiplayer, I'd play Mario Kart DS with my wife on our two DSes as well as with anyone else I encountered with the DS at that time. The 3DS might win out for the Street Pass functionality that lead to me carrying it everywhere and playing all the minigames associated with that too.
What I don't get is why they didn't simply use Unreal Engine, which could have made the presentation infinitely nicer looking without too much customization or effort... I tossed this on my wishlist, but it'd have to drop a lot before I'll be tempted.
Why is there not multiplayer on this, I really wanted to buy it to play with my daughter who is obsessed with Batgirl...but I guess this isn't the title for that...
I still have the Nyko Wireless Sensor Bar, which is battery operated and works better than the wired Wii one, longer range, and can sit in a drawer until I need it...this is amusing though if you have two right joy-cons handy.
This game has aged fine, in fact, it looks WAY better than it ever did on N64, but the real star of the show was playing multiplayer with 3 other friends, that's where we all spent hours playing Goldeneye, not single player. I always wished I could jump and wasn't restricted to wheelchair mode though.
Turok had the best setup with movement on the C-buttons and looking/aiming with the left stick (which, yes, is an option in Goldeneye too), somehow that's the only controller FPS configuration that makes any sense to me, with keyboard+mouse being obv superior.
It almost needs to be a hybrid system, and would LOVE there to be cross-compatibility with Switch games and digital purchases, then it'd be a no-brainer upgrade for everyone who still enjoys their Switch...but having 4K, higher res screen, lighter or better battery life, better controls, etc. But I do like the current design and removable joycons for multiplayer as well as ability to play on the subway or docked at home, so it'd be a hard sell to give up on any of that...
I wish any 3rd party controllers had HD Rumble and/or could turn on the Switch from sleep remotely like the JoyCons and Pro Controllers...but otherwise this is really tempting
I've had both Bust a Move 1 and 2 in their ACA editions, but will still buy this collection since I love Bust a Move/Puzzle Bobble and sounds like they even enhanced them this time around, so yay!
I always enjoyed the 8-player action on the Wii version, but really all Bubble Bobble/Puzzle Bobble games are great and this will be a day-1 purchase for me whenever it finally comes out!
Weird it switches between the 2.5D and then cartoony 3D, but having played on Apple II's as a kid and also Oregon Trail 2 on PC CD-ROM back in the day, I'm all for this on Switch...just wish it had some sorta online multiplayer Wagontrain mode
Might be the longest thread of comments I've ever seen on an NL article, shame really that the developers do not value her voice talent and continuity of hiring the same actor for the new game...
So weird it defaults to Medium in graphics settings, I saw that and immediately put it on high and haven't noticed any issues at all, perhaps a hold-over from the PC version?
So excited for this, though I'm not sure I'll be able to unlock the dolphin again, doing every stunt within the time limit took me forever as a kid on N64 after school, but I'll try!

Re: Don't Expect To See Future Super Mario Games On Mobile, Suggests Miyamoto
That's fine, console games should be their priority, but it's a shame since Mario Run is basically the best mobile game Nintendo managed to release.

Re: Video: Yep, These Sunglasses Really Are Compatible With Nintendo Switch
It's a fun idea, but the screens still need to be WAY DENSER before the image will look as good as just a normal 1080p TV sitting in front of you...

Re: Video: Jeff Minter On How He Brought Atari's Lost Shooter 'Akka Arrh' Up To Date
Nice IBM Model-M keyboard he's using there too, though this title looks a bit chaotic for my taste, maybe it makes more sense while playing
