It's disappointing that it's such a limited selection from the beginning, hopefully they add more at a more rapid rate than they have for games on NSO and Virtual Console over the years. Dumping a series at a time would be a good idea. No Luigi's Mansion ST for Halloween is a big under-sight too!
I watched that same comparison video yesterday and you know what, I don't ever remember Elma in my game wearing that open chested top. I swear mine was the standard full red outfit. They've just used a video of her wearing a different outfit to the default one. Honestly it's a bad comparison video since they used a Wii U video captured at night time, so it doesn't match up. This is a big nothing.
YAAAAASSSSSS I could swear but I won't. This is gonna look amazing. The original looked amazing on Wii U, this will be even better. One of the best looking worlds ever. I wonder how they're managing the lack of 2nd screen? It's gonna be a bit annoying not having a large scale map to glace at and quickly scope.
Not sure why the article was mostly about the writer not knowing who she was. That's weird. She only cleaned up and won a record amount of BRITs in a single ceremony this year. Maybe switch the radio on every now and then!
It's great to see Nintendo use celebrities who really ARE Nintendo gamers for their ads. I'm not sure I ever believed Beyonce played a Nintendo DS, but I can tell you from first hand experience Raye plays the Switch all the time. I even have her added as a friend on mine.
They were never going to keep 10,000 people from posting anything from their own consoles. This sort of thing needed to be smaller and more controlled if they didn't want it getting out. But the manner of the service they're testing obviously needs many many people logged on at once.
What on earth is going on at Nintendo? Echoes of Wisdom leaked before release, this has and I'm hearing Mario & Luigi has now leaked 3 weeks early. They need to tighten things up.
I doubt we'll get a Switch 2 announcement this side of Mario & Luigi launching. Why distract attention away from a big release? Same reason they didn't announce anything before Echoes of Wisdom. We're in fairly unknown territory though. Usually console releases have all but dried up by the time the next console is on the horizon, so Nintendo don't have to consider their timing quite so much. But the releases are still coming!
Much prefer the older format of dungeons. This isn't even back to basics is it, since you don't have to find the compass (something we haven't seen since before Skyward Sword) and they're still quite small with just one or two keys to find. Give me huge complex mazes with multiple locked doors to find keys for over the Tears of the Kingdom "find 5 locks" format any day.
Literally haven't noticed it aside from very very slight skips in the first town before the castle. Haven't seen it since, and yes I'm loading data from the SD card, on 7 year old OG Switch where the battery is so knackered it switches off after an hour of play without warning. Really don't know what all the fuss is about.
Kind of funny to think about Nintendo being a company that didn't talk about it's past considering all the franchises that stretch back to the 80s, the constant ports of old games and retro game libraries on recent consoles.
It's a shame, it would've been a nice surprise if when you finally rescue him at the end he speaks. Not that it would stay a surprise on the internet beyond launch day. Missed opportunity, he's going to be speaking in the movie eventually. It's time to break that ceiling.
9. I have to say they really messed up the controls for the echoes. Why is it locked to one button slot? It's so fiddly having to keep switching what you're using. There are SO many options that things just get buried/lost/forgotten about in what is a pretty poorly designed horizontal scroll menu. Needed at least two or three buttons to assign things to (like a regular Zelda game) so you can keep commonly used ones at hand. We've grown beyond the NES and Game Boy days when Zelda games had one button for item assignments. It's just not a system designed for playing quickly.
It's not a huge surprise. Personally I'd rather have a Nintendo Store or Super Nintendo World somewhere in Europe before they expand this anywhere. Seriously, what gives? I'm aware Universal is planning a UK park so the latter is likely, but we still need a store let's be honest.
Was there framerate issues with Link's Awakening? I don't remember playing it and cussing about that. Sometimes these performance analysis videos are sensationalist.
It wouldn't be a surprise if there's a little extra feature Nintendo have kept quiet. Before the Switch we all knew of the rumours of the hybrid system, but I don't think we ever heard controllers would attach and detach from the sides.
Lot of people saying "grain of salt" but this looks legit to me. If it's a fake, it's a good fake. Not out there enough to be instantly called fake and subtlely different enough to be plausible. Disappointing it's come out like this if it is real, but at least we can avoid the outrage of "IS THAT IT?" when it gets revealed and it's not a completely revolutionary concept. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Still wish it would have added a second screen tbh...
If you can't beat em, join em! But honestly, it is quite funny that Nintendo throw out inventive and fun platformers like this every couple of years for fun, and Playstation owners are just discovering this type of game. Like they've just invented it or something haha
Such a stupid excuse. Life sim games are so popular, and all they have to do is put this as a freemium game on smartphones and they'd be raking in money off micro-transactions. Something pixel based like the Sonic Advance ones would suffice. Which is another point, they made one for Sonic Advance, but apparently it's only for Adventure games...
They held back the title for a long long time to avoid spoiling things so it checks out. The final title was probably only decided a few months before they told us
I'm always surprised by how many games this series gets a year, so I'm not surprised the people in charge can't keep track of when they're being announced either.
I sure hope it's backwards compatible because my OG Switch battery is absolutely knackered. Even after I replaced it myself. Switches off without warning around 50%. Never ever had that any of my previous handhelds, but probably because I always upgraded to the remodels.
I mean, you'd hope so wouldn't you? If it follows a similar design to the Switch with the detachable controllers and handheld play, no reason why it can't play Switch games. The only reason the Switch wasn't backwards compatible was it being such a departure from disc based media. Now what would be neat is if they bolted a flip screen onto it and made it compatible with 3DS and DS games. Now THAT would be a surprise.
The whole series just needs a big shake up. The battle system is largely unchanged since the first games aside from the gimmicks they add for one game and then it's gone again. A big part of this is down to the competitive scene I reckon. You mess with the formula even a little, like letting Pokemon have a 5th move, or make it more traditional RPG where your entire party fight on the screen at once, and you mess with the strategies, parties and the Pokemon people have clung to since they first started playing 25 years ago.
If they're pulling away from the official timeline now, they can start to make more "non-Hyrule" games. Because honestly sticking within the same kingdom and all the staples it has to include feels like it stifles the creativity of the world and story somewhat. Some of the best Zelda's weren't in Hyrule.
So this is why you need a Nintendo Account to book a ticket. A few people here found it a bit odd, so hopefully they can see the thinking behind the idea now. Really cool it keeps track of your scores on your account. As always with Nintendo, it was never going to be just a regular museum of exhibits like every other one. Imagine what they would do if they had a full theme park and not just a tiny portion of Universal Studios to build attractions in.
@VoidofLight why is that weird? Classic marketing snare, you're signed up to receive emails that push product advertisements to you. Also most Nintendo fans would already be a member anyway
