@Poodlestargenerica gee where to start? Buying a perfectly good, hugely influential discussion platform and broke it, just because it was too liberal for his tastes? Allowing the most dangerous man in America to have access to it again (which he thankfully hasn't obliged to use yet)? Allowing several extremely awful people such as (if you're British) Tommy Robinson and Katie Hopkins to come back and spew hate on the platform? Just his general day to day immature baiting of various protected communities? Filling our night skies with thousands of trails of satellites in a vanity project? Naming his child something akin to a web host error page-ok maybe that one is too far. But you get the gist.
We're going off topic, but I don't recall anyone from Nintendo being such a public nuisance just because they have the money to do so. Not all billionaires are bad people, it's how you use your status and money which determines that.
I wish they would just name a date, even if it's two weeks away. Hate that we're being kept guessing even though we know it's this month. In a way that's even worse than not even knowing it's coming. Fully expect them to schedule during England playing on Sunday night to be quite honest.
Just can't get hyped for this. A bunch of companies I barely care about drip feeding reveals for two months. All I need is to hear what Nintendo are bringing to Switch. If anything else interesting gets announced, I'm sure you guys will inform me.
Excited about this until I saw the price. Jeeeeesus. I'll plump for Hyrule Castle or Temple of Time but not for the Deku Tree. Hopefully they do those little £7 mini sets with the enemies in an environment like they did for Mario. I'd buy tons of those.
I'm still playing it now. Had a couple of months off at the end of last year, but it's been in my playing list for the full year. Still need to find 3 shrines. 280 hours down. I can't believe some people really just blitzed the story in first month and then put it down for good.
344 tracks of WHAT exactly? There isn't that much music in the game surely. Can't we have a more concise 2 disc version without all the filler tracks? The Xenoblade 3 soundtrack is 9 discs and 144 tracks, which is a theme for pretty much every character plus a different theme for every colony/location both day and night.
This ST must feature a whole load of sound effects for it to be so long, and squeeze that many tracks on the same number of discs. Because there sure ain't as many musical scores in this as Xenoblade, I can tell you that.
All because Elon decided to make companies pay an extortionate amount for the API. Surprised it lasted this long (including the bird logo remaining on the console) I use it all the time, if I have a screenshot or video I want to share. Just means I'll have to go through the slightly convoluted method of downloading it to my phone first. Hopefully you'll be able to do that on Switch 2 as well. The sooner a viable Twitter replacement steps up the better.
Looking forward to playing this but in terms of the competitive element, not bothered at all. We all know the leaderboards will be spammed with hacks and people who manage to get the absolute lowest possible score. Us regular folk will have to settle for the 5000th mark and below.
It really feels more like & Knuckles. Not really a show about him, which is a shame. Needed more lore about Knuckles, an adventure where he's the lead and not just a sidekick to someone else. The Sonic Adventure 2 story searching for the emerald shards was right there (it could have shattered after the events of the 2nd movie) but instead we got the Wade spin-off. Fun watch, but I don't think anyone who skips this will feel they've missed anything come Sonic 3.
Not in the slightest. Bored of this whole obsession with 60fps and games not having it being "bad". Didn't even realise the original had it, not gonna notice any difference with this version.
Also people worried it could detach easily...I've had some pretty strong magnets in my hands before. Believe me, it's possible to have something rock solid with magnets. How you'd take them off to play on TV when they're that strong is another question though
Am I missing something? In what way were those pictures depicting racist ethnic stereotypes? Unless there are other pictures besides those two I don't understand that reason.
@Uncle_Franklin it really wasn't a bad game in any sense. You can be disappointed the battle system wasn't traditional (as I was) but it was still a solid game and closer to traditional Paper Mario than anything SPM was.
Absolutely not having this. The amount of media, merchandise and games Mario has been in, there is absolutely no way Lara Croft is more recognisible. I'm not saying she isn't iconic, she sure is, but no way is she number 1. The biggest outlier here is "Agent 47". Now, I've never played Hitman admittedly, but I didn't even know he was called that. Very much doubt anyone outside of gaming knows that, or have even heard of the games. A generic bald dude in a suit is absolutely not more recognisible or iconic than Sonic, Pikachu, Pac-Man, Link, Crash...I would put TAILS above him.
TOTK is superior in every single way. People voting BOTW are just nostalgic, because it was all so fresh and unexpected at the time. A bit like how people still clung to OOT being the best Zelda for years because exploring in 3D was brand new. Same goes for Mario 64.
No, because having to play through the story again is such a chore. It's essentially the FIFA approach to games, the same thing with a little tweak. DLC is better. Also, as it's not the 00s now and games aren't on handhelds made in 2D, I'd rather that time was spent on developing the next game because they churn them out too rapidly as it is.
I kept myself completely in the dark about this game so didn't read this preview at the time. I'm thankful that I did. So much you wrote about that I had no idea was in the game, from reuniting koroks, attaching things to arrows, building things and the fact that bomb flowers exist. It was so joyous to stumble upon everything and have no pre-warning of any of it. Not saying you shouldn't write about it, I'm just saying I'm grateful I allowed myself to be free of any information going into it. I bookmarked this to read when I had finished the game.
Back when Camelot put the effort into Mario sports titles. Recent entries have been lacking. Hopefully they're working on something non-sports related now...
Happy to see Legends continue, it's the fresh take on Pokemon the franchise desperately needed imo. And honestly the next generation mainline game should be a few years off yet if they know what's good. The rate at which they churn those out is why they come out mediocre with graphics people laugh at. More time in the oven needed. There's a reason we don't get a 3D mainline Mario or Zelda every 3 years. Just look at Sonic...
Surprised it's taken this long, seems a no brainer to bring card collecting to smartphones. I'd love a card game on Switch like the Game Boy one they did before. I suppose there are just too many sets to collect now though
I fear it's too late to put them on Switch. Maybe the next console. I just don't understand why they never expanded into SNES Remix after these. Seemed a no-brainer. Plenty of iconic titles to make challenges from. And hey, maybe even N64 Remix or Game Boy Remix...one can dream.
Stunning visuals you say. Maybe the backgrounds, but the characters just look really cheap and crudely designed. Idk it just gives off a really basic vibe to me, especially when the cutscenes are done with character overlays instead of in-field animations.
I wouldn't put it near the top of my favoutites but I suppose it is one of the more memorable ones, in a sea of levels that are largely based on the same scenery (in modern times). Ice Cap definitely one of the best, if not for the music alone (screw the replacement music), but I'd say the strongest levels are in the &Knuckles part of the game.
Not so much gold ink but gold coins, and lots of them. They must've thrown a big offer at him to make him sign on for another movie. And they would've had to, I can't see how they could make a movie based on SA2 without Robotnik. I suspect they'll write a 4th movie with a different antagonist though, this will be his last.
@DripDropCop146 Sega can't make original 3D Sonic's anymore. Generations was a nostalgia trip. The other companies you mentioned might do ports, but also do new games very well. And Superstars might have "original" levels, but much of it still borrows heavily from classic levels. The casino stage, for example.
Just a bit embarrassing if they port or remaster this for modern consoles. Still living on past glories (and it wasn't exactly perfect, just not crap like the previous efforts...but it's a low bar). They need to actually come up with some original games which doesn't recycle old levels.
I don't understand why, after making FFIII and FFIV in full polygons on the DS, they just stopped. They should have carried on with FFV and VI on the 3DS.
@EarthboundBenjy Pokemon HMs and the Tales rings are the only examples of ability based puzzles I can think of as well. Most RPGs only stretch as far as switches or the odd ice puzzle. Like I said it's a real surprise no other games have taken the Golden Sun format and did more with it, given it's popularity and subsequent absence. Nintendo absolutely needs to bring it back
Really surprised to see you found the puzzles a bore the first time around. That's one of the stand out elements of the games, something it does way better than any other RPG. Final Fantasy dungeons feel so DULL by comparison. Just mazes of misdirection and chests dumped at dead ends just to make you walk further.
I really don't know why more RPGs don't use magic in the same way Golden Sun does in the overworld and dungeons. It's the most natural thing ever. Characters use it to fight, why on earth wouldn't they ever use it to get around and open new paths? I've yet to find another RPG that does it. The closest thing we have is Zelda, which isn't an RPG.
Safe to assume it's been pushed to the next console now. With any luck it's going to be a launch title. Probably be the big first party launch title like BOTW was for Switch.
@JohnnyMind that is a very good point. I would fully expect them to be compatible with the new hardware, while the new hardware will have a controller with some new kind of tech inside it. And hopefully...a D-Pad.
I know it's to go with the Peach game, but considering we're most likely getting the next console this year it's surprising they're still pumping out new joy-cons. But I suppose they do have form for doing this toward a consoles end of life.

It's not suggesting that though is it? It's just asking people's opinion on the matter. Could very well not happen still.
