Re: Of Course Nintendo Switch 2 Experience Tickets Are Being Listed On eBay

Baker1000

@MrCarlos46 unless the tickets are only accessible through the webpage and you have to be logged into the account to have it on your phone, having them linked to certain accounts will be pointless. If they just send you an email near the date with a code to scan, anyone can use it. They can't prove it's not linked to your account.

Re: Of Course Nintendo Switch 2 Experience Tickets Are Being Listed On eBay

Baker1000

@GrailUK why would he? He's going to be invited to an exclusive behind closed doors hands on event probably held the day after they air the Direct. And then his own console weeks before launch to try out. All of the games media industry have no need to attend these events, they'll have their own. And yes, he was selfish in applying for one, knowing full well he'll get invited out to Tokyo to see it anyway.

Re: Of Course Nintendo Switch 2 Experience Tickets Are Being Listed On eBay

Baker1000

More fool anyone who actually buys it. Even if you're able to use it, you're funding a scalper who paid nothing to begin with. But also, I can't see how they can prevent anyone else using your ticket. Definitely not a foolproof system. You need a Nintendo account to get a ticket, but there's no actual way to prove that account that of the person attending. Unless they do name checks against a form of photographic ID, which seems unlikely.

As much as I would love to go and try out the console early, I wouldn't pay anywhere near that much to do it. It's not exactly a completely unique console experience, it'll largely be the same as the first Switch for the most part. The only really exciting thing would be playing the new games.

Re: Poll: So, Were You Accepted For The Nintendo Switch 2 Hands-On Event?

Baker1000

Nope. Just wondering how many tickets they had available tbh. In the UK, 3 timeslots per day, albeit overlapping with each other. It’s a huge place, that ExCeL centre. Obviously don’t know how much space they’ve rented out, but they can get a sizeable attendance there. And yet it seems as if like 5% of all applicants got tickets. Would love to know how many tickets were available for each timeslot and how many they’re allowing in at once with the overlapping times.

Re: Talking Point: Did All The Switch 2 Leaks 'Damage' Nintendo Or The Console's Reveal?

Baker1000

It definitely made the reveal less exciting. But what it did do was prepare us for the fact there isn't anything revolutionary or innovative this time around. We've had months to let that reality sink in. Whereas if we had been hyped about this super secretive new console, expecting something really wild and excitedly trying to guess how they could go a step beyond the Switch, we would've been pretty bummed with this reveal. "Is that it?!" So it's both good and bad.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Trailer Gives First Official Look At The New Console

Baker1000

Annoying the leaks showed us pretty much everything. Wish there was something that expanded upon the design like dual screen play, but I guess a better more powerful version of the best selling console since PS2 isn't a bad thing. Name is a bit boring, but understandable to avoid the Wii U confusion. Just wish they would at least have done something more interesting with the logo. Even PlayStation change to logo entirely every generation so it feels distinct.

Re: Feature: Everything You Missed In The Switch 2 Mario Kart Reveal - Characters, Features, Easter Eggs

Baker1000

Here we go, more moaning about the track textures not being as sharp as they could be like with all the DLC tracks 😂

I really hope that DK design is just an optional skin and you can still play as the original design. Because why only him and not Mario and Luigi? Either have all or none available. Movie designs should stay in the movie and video game designs in the games imo

Re: 'Switch 2' Replica Showcased By Accessory Maker Genki At CES 2025

Baker1000

Nintendo have just lost complete control of this whole thing. They've handed it so badly. 3rd party accessory companies revealing what the console looks like before them. Whoever is in charge of keeping this stuff getting out should be fired, frankly. Surely these companies had to sign NDAs to not disclose anything about the console until they're allowed? And now we're hearing a French journalist saying the release date is April. They may as well let someone else announce the launch games too. Don't even bother with an official trailer, it's all out in the open now anyway.

Re: Nintendo Should Copy This Feature For Switch 2, But It Probably Won't

Baker1000

They needed to be doing this on Switch 1. Absolutely shocked we never ever had a joy-con with a D-Pad, or at least ones which replicate retro button layouts from past consoles. Seems like such a Nintendo thing to do, but that was the Nintendo of the past, not present. Same as we didn't get any sort of menu theme update. Simplicity seems to be the strategy now, but I hope they take a more creative outlook with Switch 2 now that they've established themselves again.

Re: Sega President Shuji Utsumi On Sonic The Hedgehog’s Next Major Outing

Baker1000

We all know they'll release something in October/November again. It's like clockwork. Rather than just work on something until it's ready, they have this bizarre ambition to release something once a year in the fall no matter if it's polished or not. As a great man once said, a delayed game is eventually good but a rushed game is bad forever.

Re: Sonic Movie Writers Talk About Two Requested Characters For Live-Action

Baker1000

Can't see the need for Big the Cat if I'm honest. Rouge is a must, if only to up the female character count. Never played a game with Silver in but I hear he's in demand. They're at risk of bloating the films with characters the same as the games though. How long can these films realistically go on for though? Probably safe to call it quits after 5 or 6?

Re: Feature: 9 Things Nintendo Could Add To Switch 2 So It's Not 'Just Another Switch'

Baker1000

Said it before, and I'll say it again. Different joy-con. If nothing else, one that has a D-Pad to feel more natural for 2D games. But it's a wasted opportunity to not release ones which are based on retro controllers. Give me that classic NES D-Pad and buttons with the 90 degree edge. The colourful SNES buttons, the Gamecube button layout with a yellow C-stick. And I'm surprised they never just made regular joy-con with retro designs on them the same way we had a NES/Famicom GBA SP. This is 100% something Nintendo would've done 20 years ago, but they've shied away from special edition controllers somewhat.

But of course, crazy controllers with all sorts of gimmicks and gizmos on for certain games. They could turn the console into an actual accordian or something daft like that.

Re: Opinion: Raise A Glass To The Nintendo DS' Peculiar Peripherals

Baker1000

It's really quite surprising no one, especially Nintendo, has made use of the fact you can detach and reattach whatever kind of controller you like to the side of the Switch. I really expected at least some retro controller attachments. I suppose it's not so easy if you want people to play on the TV not just handheld though.
