When the Nintendo Museum opens up on 2nd October 2024, we're sure a bunch of fans will be piling through the doors, eager to get a look at all of the beautiful exhibits and play with the interactive stations. But, if you're one of the lucky ones who manages to snag a ticket, there will be a delightful little surprise even before you enter the museum.
Spotted by Nintendo Wire, your unique entry ticket — if you get one, that is! — will show your Mii on the front. That's a superb little touch, especially given that you need a Nintendo account to grab tickets to the museum.
This info is tucked away pretty nicely on the official museum's website in the User Guide section. Scrolling down, under the Issue QR Section and below 'Assign a ticket to another visitor', there's a little drop-down section titled 'What you can do when assigning'. Here, the instructions explain that "upon entry to the museum, each visitor will receive a play ticket with the Mii character set to their Nintendo Account printed on it."

The tickets serve more than just entry into the museum, however. Every person's ticket will record that person's records and scores from the various interactive games and exhibits at the museum. If you're going with family or friends and they don't have a Nintendo account, their scores will be recorded to the Nintendo account of the person with the ticket.
Like we could be any more jealous — we're saving up for a trip to Japan right now... we want Mii tickets! And essentially everything else. For information on pricing, exhibits, and reservation details, we've put together a handy little guide for you.
Want to see your Mii on a museum ticket? Let us know in the comments below.

Wii love it!
Remember when Iwata revised his Mii to be slimmer and joked that he'd lost a lot of weight since he's surgery? Man, that's really sad in hindsight.
That is pretty cool, damn have to go back to Japan. What a shame <- sarcasm
I have tried to book tickets for Wednesday 13th November as i booked tickets then as I wanted to go to Donkey Kong Country which does not look like it is happening.
You go into a draw to get the Nintendo Museum tickets. I will literally be broken if I do not get them. What a dream come true this could be. Please I need lots of positive energy and wishes for luck that I get them.
Love to see that Mii live on at least in some way!
Mii’s making a comeback?
Haha. What a lovely idea. Far better than a photo!
Wonder what they'll do if a person has a very inappropriate Mii. You know the ones. I could see them scrapping this idea later if too many troll Miis come around and then everyone will say "this is why we can't have nice things".
I don't have much faith in people anymore when customisation is given to them. 🤣
Still, a cool idea and a fun use for the Mii characters regardless! I'd like to get one some day.
Cue in the people with their Prof Oak, Mr Saturn, Peter Griffin and just a blank slate with a single dot in the middle
Jk. I love the whole Mii thing and I hope Nintendo keep bringing new ideas to keep them around
Switch 2 will be compatible with Miis confirmed.
The Mii is something I hope Nintendo bring back with the Switch 2. It’s on Switch 1 but buried away. I always got the impression that Miitomo was supposed to be the Switch’s Mii/Everybody Votes Channel that would link back to the regular console. I guess they canned the idea.
That's pretty neat. Sigh... I have Super Nintendo World AND this museum to visit. I am guaranteed to be broke if I go to Japan.
@CupidStunt I am also in the drawing for 13/Nov. what a coincidence. XD
Man, everything about this museum is really calling to me. I would definitely go there should I ever visit Japan.
Sending all my good luck vibes, it would be so neat to get a picture of the two of you NL readers playing with those big controllers @CupidStunt @KeeperBvK 🍀
That is really cool! Love it.
Yo, I'd like to go to a museum anonymously, thank you.
@KeeperBvK I have put my name down for 2 tickets. I don't know if my friend can come, but if I win and you don't, and he doesn't I will have one spare!
I requested 10, 1030 and 11 slots!
That is adorable. If they are gonna mine customer info, might as well mine something I gave them already.
I incredibly glad that Miis are not forgotten.
And I love that you get a custom souvenir, kind of like the unique 6-brick combination from visiting the LEGO House (a fundamentally similar corporate museum by a different toy company).
Hopefully this is a sign that the Switch 2 will feature Miis more prominently.
Time to switch mine to Hitler again
I was hoping to see the end of miis, I find them to be aesthetically displeasing.
@CupidStunt That is so kind of you! Thank you.
But I am going with my wife and kid, so a single ticket wouldn’t help. I could not possible go by myself. XD
So this is why you need a Nintendo Account to book a ticket. A few people here found it a bit odd, so hopefully they can see the thinking behind the idea now. Really cool it keeps track of your scores on your account. As always with Nintendo, it was never going to be just a regular museum of exhibits like every other one. Imagine what they would do if they had a full theme park and not just a tiny portion of Universal Studios to build attractions in.
Anybody else been using the same Mii since the Wii days? 🙋♂️
While I've been tempted to adjust a detail here or there, I can't bear it. It's my trademark at this point.
Oh my Word this is the coolest thing ever 🥺 please someone help me get to Japan
Too bad they all but got rid of Mii
my mii does not look like me, will that be identity fraud? 🫥
This is super cool! I just don’t know how, not being a resident of Japan, I’m meant to be able to feasibly plan a trip? These tickets are more complicated to get than the Ghibli museum!
@Jack_Goetz Damn bruh why you gotta remind us...
I find it interesting they’re still rendering the Miis in the Wii U style, I wonder how they’ll handle Miis with newer hair/eye colors and glasses styles…
Miis are one of the best things Nintendo has made honestly, I love them so much! Just bring back the music please!
@SillyG Me lol, the Mii will forever stay as short as he was back when i was a kid
This is really neat! I love this addition of the Mii characters on people’s tickets! And it shows that the Mii is still relevant to Nintendo as well, which is a huge relief to me!
Miiverse for Switch 2 confirmed.
(Look I can dream okay lol)
Bring back Mii's, the fact that they use generic characters in Switch Sports, ruins the entire game...
And with that, also bring back Wuhu Island
@Yalloo Thank you!!! I got the Golden Ticket! I am going November 13th!
@KeeperBvK Did you get your tickets!!! I won mine!!
@CupidStunt This is so cool! I'm so happy for you!! Oh, you will have a great time 😍
I really hope the other guy will get his as well.
@CupidStunt Congratulations!
No, none of my three entries was chosen.
@KeeperBvK It is si rubbish for you. 3 of my 6 entries won. There will be a lot of cancellations so check back. I think they have to be claimed by 7th and then it is first come first served.
@CupidStunt Thanks. Yeah, that’s what I am hoping for. Let’s see. We are rather flexible within roughly 2 weeks, so hopefully we can still get a ticket there.
@KeeperBvK just keep checking. Have you been to Japan before? Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios there is actually sensational. Best themed park I was ever in. It was so authentic. It feels alive and the Japanese people make it so special.
On the other hand the one in Hollywood Universal feels unfinished and the staff are just rude and take away from the experience. The merchandise in Japan is awesome too. I highly recommend the Express Pass to guarantee entry and go on a Wednesday or Thursday as there are school trips there on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you dont get the Express Pass you will be queuing very early to get into the Nintendo section
Hopefully they will open Donkey Kong Country by then as it was delayed and no sign of it opening yet.
@CupidStunt Oh yeah, I have been to Japan probably more than ten times, both privately and for business, as I work for a Japanese company.
USJ is in our list, and our son is too young for the rollercoasters, so I guess we will be mostly fine, as rides for kids tend to not be as crowded in all of these kinds of parks.
I will consider getting the Exprwss pass for the Nintendo part, though. Thanks for the recommendation.
And I have also been checking the status of the DK ride again and again, alas to no avail yet. They keep the opening date really secret after the delay. ^^
@KeeperBvK The Mario Kart ride is not a rollercoaster and more an interactive game so I think he will be fine, and the Yoshi Ride is for smaller kids and the animatronics are cute. The yoshi ride is really for wee kids. I felt quite sad being a 41 year old man in a Luigi costume riding it 🤣🤣🤣
@CupidStunt Never feel sad for what we enjoy. I might follow in your footsteps here as a 40-year old man.
@KeeperBvK did you check today for the Nintendo Museum tickets? Lots of people who never claimed theirs from the multiple entries tickets should be back in the pot.
@CupidStunt Open purchases for Oct and Nov are still not open for me. It still says „preparing“. Is it different for others?
@KeeperBvK I am not sure. They are maybe just calculating.
@CupidStunt It‘s finally open and I got the tickets! They still seemed to have tickets for plenty of dates available.
@KeeperBvK That is awesome. Lots of multiple entry tickets going back in. What date and time did you get, I am Wednesday 13th at 10am. If you are there that date and time, look for a big muscular guy in a Luigi costume and his friend in a Bowser hat! Come and say hello.
@CupidStunt Hahaha, sounds like you are dressing up perfectly for the occasion.
I will be there on 11/Nov with my wife and son.
Enjoy your day there. It’s surely a magical place, and I can’t wait.
