Rumour: Switch 2's Pre-Order Date Might Have Been Accidentally Leaked

Who could've seen this one coming?!

Honestly, I expected preorders to open. Guess this means we'll be getting release day and pricing info next week. Sounds like a summer release is on the cards (or they want to reveal the release date half a year in advance).

I was expecting preorders to drop shortly after the direct. I booked the day off in preparation for hunting one down, with my first stop being the Best Buy app.

Honestly, as long as I'm able to pre-order in person without any problems that's good for me. I just hope bots and scalpers don't ruin people from being able to pre-order in stores.

Hopefully pre orders will be available directly at Nintendos site and block scalpers by using Nintendo account limit 1 console per Nintendo account.

@TheBigK would not recommend BestBuy app it’s super buggy, could be frustrating trying to put a pre-order in, especially when there’s a lot of traffic plus potential bugs slowing u down… just saying i tried using that app before it was a horrible experience that and the GameStop app also horrible.

I'd say a may release is likely considering the new game transfer functionality is being added to the switch by the end of April.

I look forward to not being able to find any in-stock until June 2028.

Think I need to know a little more before preordering. Not sure one direct is enough! But if I don’t preorder, I wonder if I’ll have to wait.

I will more than likely be pre ordering one, as long as it doesn't cost PS5 Pro money (for the record I'm fairly confident it won't)

My only other criteria for pre ordering or not is that it must have at least one "Must have" launch title.

When I bought my OG Switch I didn't really have much to play on it at first because I hate Zelda games so once the novelty of being able to "Switch" wore off it didn't get much use

If the launch games are good and pre-ordering one won't be a disaster like the PS5, I will get it. I'm not going the PS5 thing where to needed to be on a constant alert to get one, I had zero enjoyment in buying it at launch

@Duncanballs good idea - im expecting alot of timeouts when trying to purchase (whenever that day may be) - hope Nintendo are ready for the rush

Unless there's a killer launch line-up, I'm not sure I'll be in any hurry to pre-order. I'll be yearning for a themed/limited edition model anyway, which we're likely to see later in the year (assuming that the original model launches mid-year).

If anything, the promise of enhanced performance for existing games might be the thing to tip me over, much like how the OLED model instantly won me over with its larger screen, making the original model damn near impossible to go back to.

I hope GameStop will give me a $50 trade-in bonus on my Switch and Switch Lite for pre-ordering the Switch 2. I would get probably get $350 in trade-in credit.

What people are more interested in, is the actual date you can pick up the Switch 2, which can be as far as Nov/Dec 2025.

Getting a preorder in for a new console always gives me anxiety… scalpers suck.

I hope I can just casually place an order, at a time and place that is convenient to me. If I can, I'll likely be placing a pre-order.

I've stopped trying to order things that require me to be on standby to bum rush buttons at a specific moment or right after a specific announcement.

Well Nintendo has had lots to say about making enough consoles for everyone with this launch, so here’s hoping we all have a smooth preorder service! 🤞🏼
