Ahhh Tetris game boy. My dad would frequently steal my game boy and play Tetris for hours on end. A 40 something year old smashing Tetris back in the 90s is testament to its ease of play
They will announce that they changed the sign at NoA headquarters. Then they will announce that Doug Bowser’s body is ready and that switch 2 releases tomorrow.
Also please delete my comment for street cred. I mean I can’t read all the comments here but there is some almost malicious reporting which is a shame on a thread about arguably the best in the PoP catalogue getting a remake
I loved street pass on my 3DS. Best ever street pass was Disney Land Tokyo. Had to stop every 30 minutes to clear through the next 10 street passes. Annoyed my wife no end (edit: this was 2014 and I had no idea there was a >10 limit introduced in 2016 - thanks for that gem Zion). At the time I was living in Cairns in Far North Queensland in Australia, maybe a town of 100-150K people which would yield ZERO street passes no matter what I did - and pre covid this was a tourist Mecca / party town.
Prior to that though I would occasionally go to street pass meet up events and it really did encourage me to keep my 3DS on me everywhere I went as a 30 year old.
So I think street pass is actually a really positive feature, both community building and encourages you to use your device (a positive for Nintendo).
Deku tree is disappointing, but I think I will have to buy from a collectors perspective. A larger scale set ie hyrule castle is almost certainly in the works.
I hope they do a set from each major 3D Zelda, and a 8 bit tribute to the original.
OoT - deku tree
MM - the moon or the mask?
WW - the boat set, I think a lego ideas submission had it rocking on the waves way back when
TP - wolf link
SS - ??
BoTW - guardian or hyrule castle
ToTK - Zelda dragon with master sword
That’s phenomenal. Whoever created this, as a fan effort, he should be salaried with Nintendo or something. This should be the standard emulation process for N64 games on NSO because I don’t think I can go back to the crummy emulation efforts after seeing this.
I’ve basically finished a second playthrough, just farming to get fierce diety set maxed, and almost have full hearts. Then I’ll stomp ganons face again. Second time through was no better or worse, but I found BOTW better the second time. Sadly that comparison will always loom over TOTK’s legacy. It’s a great game but the lesser sibling
Short of having a billboard in game with an ad on it, that’s more in the background like in a real stadium, there’s no way to do this without alienating everyone.
I have to admit, second stage ganon power bar was epic.
The journey of the master sword was some great storytelling. However, the rest of the story was a bit of a letdown, and it’s still a little jarring if you try to join the BOTW and TOTK stories any more than superficially.
TOTK is a great game, I can’t deny it, it’s just such a shame that BOTW came before it as it is just a bit better.
Hopefully the longstanding rumour mill of prime 2 and 3 being ready and HD WW and TP being ready are true. Easy money for nintendo.
I actually hope Metroid prime 4 is a launch title for switch 2.
Who cares about ps2 numbers anyway. A portion of their sales were primarily as a dvd player and Sony has already moved their lifetime sales figures once. Switch has sold like hotcakes including during a global financial slowdown because of the pandemic. Someone put up that graph of Nintendo profits in the switch era the other day… I think that’s the metric that shows who the real winner is.
I know this is about a snowflakes chance in hell, but shadow of the colossus is on my wish list. Port that over Nintendo. You managed to get portal which was my other wish list item that was also assumed to be impossible.
The big reason for joycon backwards compatibility would be if you can get a cheaper model of switch2 without joycons from a money saving perspective. Cost is always a barrier to uptake in a new system.
Otherwise I would think most would be better off with new joycons, but there is definitely merit to wireless backwards compatibility only.
I’m still really struggling to picture the Zelda series translating well to a live action movie. I will be so happy to be proven wrong, but very nervous for all involved.
My switch is on its last legs, the charging dock only works about 50% of the time, so if there is backwards compatibility switch2 will be a day 1 purchase for me. I’ve mainly gone digital over physical too so fingers crossed that doesn’t backfire on me and the transfer between units is seamless.
I sincerely hope that NSO comes with a dump of new content and doesn’t continue this pathetic trickle. Virtual console on the Wii was the last time Nintendo got it ‘right’ and ironically was what brought me to this website originally hahaha
Like it’s great for Nintendo and Mario kart, but I feel like this game still selling either reflects new switch purchases or the lack of new content from Nintendo.
Also I was like wow 40% hogwarts legacy is on switch and then remembered the delays to release on that console
I haven’t played many that came after sands, but I remember being blown away by SNES version of PoP. It had some extra levels that were pretty good.
I only ever played shadow and the flame on pc - so I scored it higher than it deserved thanks to the good old sound blaster audio card. I loved this game when I was a kid, but the story hasn’t dated that well with the Prince ironically being a Prince.
Both games are brilliant, and on paper tears of the kingdom is better because of ultra-hand and the crazy mental awesomeness of how this interacts with the physics etc.
But the breath of the wild experience, and because it came first, and just the sense of wanderlust this game gave me for the first time…. Breath of the wild wins for me. No idea if this even will make sense or resonate with others, but this is the only explanation for my experience with these awesome games.
The irony, don’t they just rehash the same game every year? Perhaps the business model of sequels make profits has finally peaked. Thanks marvel universe
Edit: what I said is unfair because I thought EA and just thought madden and fifa etc. I can see they do a lot more than that, my bad
Suggestion to the editors: these list articles would be amazing if you could choose to reverse the order. I just skip to the #1 title and read backwards anyway. Doing it last to first is a bit click baity for my thinking, and scrolling backwards I usually go through 2-3 pages anyway.
I never played Star Wars post Super Nintendo era, but Super Star Wars brings back so many fond memories. Seeing it is only 14 in the list makes me wish I had time to play other titles. When the Wii was in full swing I was running around trying to collect GCN games from mark down bins and was desperate to get a copy of rogue squadron but never got my hands on it
Considering I only have time for 1-2 games a year, nothing here that sings to me. Still always interesting to see what’s in the pipeline. Switch ain’t done yet… but the momentum might be slowing
The switch titles have dried up. So eventually Nintendo will be forced to release switch 2. I’m sure they will want all the stars to align though… Wii -> WiiU was a disaster, it had a good launch line up, but the console was muddled and confused most consumers. They need to announce soon and start building the hype and also get the dev kits out there. The release date is actually less important but definitely needs to be in the speculated time frames unless Nintendo is sitting on a AAA title or two
