Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2024 - Our Most Played Games

My kids play a bit so mine is: TotK, overcooked, BotW.

A little disappointed echoes of wisdom and Metroid prime remastered didn’t make the cut

I played through BotW master mode, so that makes sense. But I think my kids just love terrorising villagers and koroks and it turns out they may have put 100 hours into that… the little psychos

@RetroGames even if it only appeals to current switch owners, that’s only 140 million-ish 🤣
But yeah, hear your concerns. Time will tell I suppose… and at the end of the day Nintendo first party titles will probs sell consoles and 3rd party support will keep it relevant. I’m more worried that Nintendo has burned out the Zelda production line and will have prime 4 for launch (not the most mainstream franchise) and they will need a banging Mario iteration to have a hope

Can only really vote for little kitty big city, stray and echoes of wisdom. Thought stray and echoes were excellent. Minor gripes around controls and menu scrolling aside

Went back and replayed BotW and TotK to decide once and for all which is better and had to go with TotK. That’s my sad gaming year summarised. 3 kids and a busy job. Adulting sucks

Re: Talking Point: What Would Be The Ideal Way To Play DS Games On 'Switch 2'?

To keep the most true DS set up, I would say WiiU asymmetric play, but this won’t work with the current cradle set up. Also it won’t work for people who want to play on the go, so will probably need some second screen access when paused set up.

I actually think it will be very difficult without some modification to the base game to be honest

Re: Random: Don't Let Pets Wii On Your Switch, Warns Nintendo

I came here for the comments, and some were golden. Thank you Nintendo life community.

There have been reports of old brick original game boys surviving toilet flushes etc, so stands to reason it should be piss proof. Definitely test on someone else’s switch first. While they’re playing for bonus points.

Re: After A Financially Rough Year, Nintendo Co-Dev TOSE Expects 'Switch 2' To Bring A Brighter 2025

I think Nintendo will have some marketing strategy that once the announcement is made it has to release within some set time period for all their advertising to have maximum effect (probably a strategy they got wrong with WiiU). And they probably have created or are close to completing all their advertising material.

As others have also mentioned, Nintendo’s Christmas sale mean they probably will announce switch 2 early next year. However people don’t spend up too much immediately post Christmas (except for Boxing Day sales) which means you wouldn’t want to release in the month or two post Christmas.

Everything is looking like early new year announcement and console drops in April? It would also maximise their profits for the 25/26 financial year for their shareholders (shareholders/market seem happy to see a drift in profits at the end of this current financial year because new console is coming).

Of course the other really sensible reason this could be dragging on is because some games just aren’t ready to ship yet. Zero point releasing switch 2 without a great library of launch titles. I’m surprised there hasn’t been more launch title speculation… this will make or break switch 2.

Pokémon Z-A
You’ve got to have prime 4.
You’ve got to have a new Mario… odyssey 2?
It’s well overdue for new Mario kart…

Then re-releases/remasters of TP/WW, Metroid prime trilogy and who knows from there… Tetris or some good puzzle game. Maybe a cross platform release or two. Something out there and new to Nintendo like shadow of the colossus or Astro bot (if a new Mario isn’t imminent).

Anyway, having great fun speculating 🤣
