Re: 50 Best Super Nintendo (SNES) Games Of All Time

Good list. I would shuffle some of the top 20, and super Mario all stars is just too much Mario and technically just NES games right?

Also love that SNES Prince of Persia made it in. I reckon it’s the definitive version

Not that I’ve bought a new TV yet, but are people thinking 1080p 120fps or 4K 60fps?

Seems like this one will depart from the series a little, which isn’t always a bad thing. I would still love to play 2 & 3 first too. Don’t know if I will be able to go back after the quality leap 4 will bring

I only joined in 2008. Late adopter, my apologies.

But happy birthday NL team

EDIT: yes I arrived to help figure out the Wii virtual console, which was amazing. And to help figure out which GC games I should try because the GC was to only Nintendo console I skipped.

Unrelated but I think Nintendo should make NES and/or SNES content free as a sign of good will seeing how well they’re doing right now. Then get rid of the second tier of their virtual subscription service.

It bothers me that you pay so much money to buy the console and there is no token content. I know there are a handful of free downloadable games. If they had included welcome tour that would be different.

But yeah. Own your success Nintendo and reward the customers rather than your shareholders for once.

I haven’t played through it for probably 30-35 years. No judgement from me. There are far better versions of Mario.

SMBs historical value is far greater than its playthrough value in this day and age(to me). Especially with 3D Mario’s etc. also as I’ve gotten older and more time poor this is not a game I would choose to go back to.

It’s strange having kids that would be my age when I played Mario but they mostly have little interest and lack the skill to play this. I think I would have been 9 / 1989-1990 when I first encountered Mario. Game designers have provided far more options and platformers don’t appeal to my kids anyway
