In the unlikely event this ever goes to court, I would be curious to know if Nintendo always planned the June release and April reveal? Or if they changed plans because of Genki. I certainly think the reveal trailer (February) of the reveal trailer was rushed because of Genki.
Not sure what the specific laws are in which ever country they are litigating but someone earlier made a good point. How will Nintendo demonstrate a financial number on their damages? 100% feel that Genki deserves to feel the wrath. But in fact maybe Nintendo isn’t even after damages, maybe they just want to bury genki in legal costs knowing Nintendo has a massive war chest.
If anyone ever meets Paul Rudd please troll him for me and say how they loved him in that Nintendo commercial from the 90s… best work they’ve seen him do.
I had no idea Paul Rudd was in the original SNES ads. Also his between two ferns effort absolutely destroyed me. I suspect he is a genuinely funny guy.
You’re very easy to listen to Alex, love your cadence and clarity of speech. But you were extra rambly on this video.
And you could have used the simpsons “grease me up woman!” meme.
Also, we are talking about a pristine new product, the test will be if the ‘smoothness’ persists. For sure Nintendo will have used a machine to manipulate the sticks for hundreds of hours… that’s what product engineers/manufacturers do. And that’s the stick you need to get your hands on.
I’ll go in with an open mind. I wonder how I’ll end up playing? I do worry the narrow mouse ‘base’ will be prone to tilt and loss of contact with a surface. I also worry if people will have a comfortable ‘coffee table’ or other furniture to use the mouse on.
Also I think Nintendo is learning every now and then you need to consolidate rather than trying to innovate every generation.
I get it that Nintendo is not known for pushing performance, but clearly there had to be some iterative improvement. I feel like people expect the unexpected from Nintendo but don’t realise that this is what they want.
The mouse function, could make FPS brilliant on switch 2. Pointing a wiimote at a screen just burns my shoulders because I’m a piss weak nerd. So just small iterative improvements this gen.
Honestly, following in the shadow of switch 1, switch 2 has to fail. What would be the bar for success? 100 million consoles? Switch 1 probably benefited from covid to a degree and switch 2 now drops in the current global financial mix. But I don’t know what this Sony guy was expecting.
I appreciate zeltik’s videos. But it weirds me out how people go through in game lore like it’s archaeologically significant and they’re a research professor. Either way though, great pick up on the repair possibilities
I really did not like the snes Mario kart, but then had like the author describes, Mario kart 64 battles with beers etc. So basically 64 was my jam for years. Although now, it’s not aged that well!
Some of the glitchy short cuts were outrageous. But at the end of the day, chuck the game out, it was probably the beers and friends bit that was really so memorable 🤣
I was always so disappointed (spoiler) about the end game undersea stuff. It felt like an opportunity for more dungeons etc. WW could have been the best in the series (my opinion only) if they had more content at that point. Felt like a real missed opportunity
Doom was great and its historical contribution to gaming was immense. But I played this to death like 20 years ago. Hats off to the people keen for this. But I don’t really get it.
I’ll reserve judgement until I play it. I had pretty decent Mario kart fatigue after 7 on the 3ds then 8 on the Wii u before a rehash on the switch. My kids were mental for Mario kart though.
The expansion pass is good fun but hardly necessary for the full experience. I wouldn’t say people are missing out on a significant portion of the experience if they go without. Actually I find the expansion pass brutally hard 🤣 for some it may detract.
Not sure it was needed but I’m super curious about the sponge bob game boy? what console is that anyway - my handheld ownership was og brick then skip to 3ds? And what edition is Gemma’s ds/3ds
Spicy comments sections. Lots of logical fallacies. The switch 2 is what it is. It isn’t really comparable to any one system because it’s a weird unicorn that is 2 systems in a way.
Its cost is partly governed by parts and manufacturing and shipping and taxes. And then the nebulous stuff of profits, supply, demand etc. Annoyingly this is on the tail of post covid economic recovery with a world leader experimenting with tariffs who is having an unpredictable impact on financial and currency markets.
Games prices are still up in the air. We will have to wait and see what retailers actually do. I always felt if there was any ludicrous pricing it was online games. But we are seeing prices raise on everything else, game production requires high outlay of money, takes a long time, is high risk, has people doing the hard work who need pay rises like the rest of us. Welcome to the future, everything is more expensive we are only just recovering from a global period of high inflation and wage growth is just starting to catch up.
I would say it’s on track to get better but one leader who thought people were kissing his ass to make a deal got his ass kicked when people dumped US bonds. I just hope the 401k’s of our US brothers and sisters recover.

Re: Random: It's Official, Nobody Likes Monty Mole
I enjoyed the ?original Monty Mole on c64.
I also enjoy his friendless Mario Kart status. Stupid mole. Super complex friendship circles. Kind of like when my kinds were little and in day care
Re: Nintendo Confirms Upgrade Pack Price For Two More 'Switch 2 Edition' Titles
I assume once your expansion pass ends, you lose the access?
Edit:
Trying to figure out do I get expansion pack? Or individually buy TOTK BOTW and Kirby expansion.
Kirby GBP 16.99 + TOTK & BOTW GBP 7.99 = 25GBP vs 35GBP for switch online + expansion pack.
Guess I’ll get switch online + expansion pack as long as Aussie dollar prices are comparable.
Re: Diablo 4 On Switch 2? It's "Something To Look At" Says Series Manager
Eeep Diablo, Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. I would have sunk hundreds if not thousands of hours into. I fear for my safety if Diablo 4 comes across.

@Fyrus92 I needed to hear this haha. Pointed it out on his YouTube channel and someone asked if I was fun at parties 🤣

One reviewer really favourable and one reviewer now visiting the physiotherapist for life!
The rest still sound sceptical despite hands on.
Wheelchair rugby may also be fun. I also want to see curling adapted to switch 2 🤣
Re: Video: Nintendo Today Gives Us Another Look At Zelda: Wind Waker For Switch Online

Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Weighs In On 'Switch 2 Welcome Tour' Controversy (Sort Of)
I think it’s like asking us to pay extra for instructions. I do think nintendo has completely missed an opportunity here.

Doom was great and its historical contribution to gaming was immense. But I played this to death like 20 years ago. Hats off to the people keen for this. But I don’t really get it.
Edit: 666 x $666 = not quite 450,000. Wow

I hope it gets me back into the franchise!

Re: Gallery: Here's Switch 2 Compared To (Almost) Every Other Handheld

Re: Talking Point: How Does Switch 2's Launch Price Compare To Past Nintendo Systems?
Going to have to thank my 80s parents a bit more. That would have hurt their pockets more than I realised.

I’m out of the street fighter loop not playing since 4. Eddy Gordo’s sister yeah?
Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Donkey Kong Bananza Are In
Promising. Donkey Kong is a bit of an unknown entity for me. I overlooked it in early Nintendo days but it might be what I try post MP4

Re: Opinion: The Switch 2 Is A Powerhouse For The Price

The switch 2 is what it is. It isn’t really comparable to any one system because it’s a weird unicorn that is 2 systems in a way.
Its cost is partly governed by parts and manufacturing and shipping and taxes. And then the nebulous stuff of profits, supply, demand etc. Annoyingly this is on the tail of post covid economic recovery with a world leader experimenting with tariffs who is having an unpredictable impact on financial and currency markets.
