Gave it a 9 but after some thought would probably rather have given an 8. I’m 2.5 dungeons in. And whilst frame rate doesn’t bother me as much, the poorly implemented echo selection really does. Especially given TotK was an absolute shocker in this regard, possibly implemented slightly better.

Echos should be presented in a few rows sorted by some group - monsters, environmental, puzzle where you can scroll left and right and up and down.

And yes, probably I’m not very far in, but Zelda and echoes just doesn’t feel like it’s enough for a whole game. I’m hoping another layer of complexity or harder puzzles is needed

My OG switch is a clunky broken ass rig that somehow barely still works, so I’m hanging out for switch 2 and will be an early adopter. Bring it on now before my switch finally dies.

Sensor bar would make… sense. I found the joycons terrible at remaining centred. It made world of goo almost unplayable

Yup. Built mine. It’s better than I thought. But having to choose OoT or BotW was difficult… and I know I’ll never go back and build the other one. So I built BotW

Omg yes! Hopefully last ninja 3 works this time.

These games were my intro to gaming, so the nostalgia is very very strong. Interestingly the sound track for last ninja 2 alone is phenomenal and has some significant similarity to my untrained ear with some rob zombie work much later on.

Previously on Wii VC last ninja 3 was unplayable and was removed as past level one would never load.

I’m sure time is not kind to these games, and I doubt many will enjoy, but i do think they are an essential piece of gaming history, even if it’s just the musical work of ninja 1 and 2.

Sounds positive. Since the switch led to the true handheld demise, I wasn’t ever sure we would see another original top down Zelda. This is the game I didn’t know I needed and wanted. I will be playing this with the kids day 1.

I’ve worked hard and have a pretty good job now. And have 3 kids who would all play it, so I’m pretty sure I’ll get value out of it.

While I want streetpass pretty badly, I want superior performance in docked mode more. Would have loved multiple options on that one.

Actually reading the deep levels of pain this is causing the enthusiasts, the comments are better than the article.

In my teens and early twenties, I had a big problem finding a balance with gaming and life responsibilities. I played a few games excessively… Diablo 2, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Tony Hawk, Tekken 3. Dropped out of uni and was staring at stacking shelves for the rest of my life. Gave up gaming until the Wii and 3DS and by that stage I had so many other responsibilities in my life I couldn’t fall down the gaming rabbit hole again.

So yeah, the 100% comments resonate with me and I had to learn to be okay with good enough rather than perfect.

I mean given it’s the ALttP and ALBW map, downfall timeline. Boom article over. 🤣

Cobra triangle was ok… I remember playing it a bit back in the day. Otherwise, 7 titles is a pretty big step up in the normal rate of game re-releases.

They are going to have to change the game selection screen in NSO as the current set up is just not user friendly with a larger game library

Yeah seems to me people are overthinking it. Play games to escape, not deep dive into analysis of sex and gender and their evolving roles in modern society. If you don’t like the game idea/mechanic that’s cool. Don’t play it. No need for soapboxes here

Portal and Shadow of colossus have always been on my list. I knew they would never come to a Nintendo system… but then portal arrived. Maybe I can hope for shadow of the colossus. Always been on my play list.

I’m actually looking forward to MP4 and hoping for remakes of MP 2&3. Also hoping for TP and MM so my kids can play though. Echoes is up there, but probably behind the switch 2 reveal for me.

I remember getting over a hundred street passes at Disneyland Tokyo probably in March/April 2014. This was better than the birth of my child!!

Even though much of this is not for me, there were a significant number of games which have huge followings.

Also Nintendo managed to keep so much under wraps… new Mario brotherhood game, new Zelda game, MP4 less kept secret but still a huge deal. That stray game, I knew nothing about because I don’t own other consoles but former GOTY contender… that’s pretty big too.

So I have to give this a 10. Quality of games is high, but more importantly Nintendo kept this all under wraps.

New Mario, new Zelda, new Metroid, dragon quest etc. It would be hard to top this without the switch 2 reveal direct having similar catalogue + Mario kart

Others have started speculating on switch 2 release now and to add my 5 cents, they would be crazy not to aim for coming into Christmas 2025… peak sales period, lots of time to keep manufacturing units and time for ports… lots of ports
