I keep meaning to dive into prime remaster, but I was spoiled back in the day by keyboard mouse input for FPS. I think I just need to suck it up and push through. Anyone else had a similar problem with console FPS?

Yeah, I would love to go back to 1997 and experience the N64 for the first time again. I remember wave race blew my mind it was so pretty. And goldeneye… I bought the N64 within a week of seeing that I was so impressed.

Super Probotector / Contra 4? On the SNES. I was just a kid but the motor bike fight scene going to jumping from missile to missile I remember just grinning like an idiot at the fun and insanity of the concept.

And like every Zelda game ever made, especially OoT

Others are surely more across this stuff than me since I rarely play anything other than my switch, but with Microsoft buying everyone, I wonder if they could claim similar stuff with regards to pc/xbox/steam deck? Between Bethesda and Activision/Blizzard there would be a few top 10s this year?

Nintendo is punching up with regards to the resources they put in though.

I knew what I had to do but didn’t realise there was a process where the dragon would fly lower. I didn’t have auto build either. It was so tedious but I eventually managed to get the master sword and my word… it felt like an achievement

I wonder how many timelines link and Zelda are romantically linked and then procreate? At the end of many timelines is link horrendously inbred and riddled with genetic disease so that ganon wins by default?

The hardest thing about Simon’s quest was the terrible translation towards the end. Never finished it because of this.

Fond memories of both

This was my introduction to the Zelda franchise when I was 10. It was punishing and I think I came back to the game on and off and probably beat it by the time I was 12. The comment about learning perseverance from this game definitely resonates with me.

That’s tough to vote when I have played so few of these games. I did my bit for TotK though. It was a good game, but BotW just had a little bit more magic for me

I played a virtual console version on the Wii I think? I discovered turn based RPGs just don’t do it for me, so will pass on this, even despite the high praise. It’s not you mario RPG, it’s me, and the turn based RPG genre.

@Kiliomp I enjoyed TOTK but couldn’t quite put into words why I found BOTW so much more enjoyable. I think you’ve captured it nicely. The more subtle aspects of the story were really shoehorned to make the game fit and just don’t really make sense or even fit. And like you said the BOTW story is largely ignored in TOTK.

Still, I happily put 150 hours into TOTK, but BOTW had such a greater impact on me.

Bad luck TOTK. Good thing it basically had its own category!

Can’t believe this is a thing. The idea is awesome, but in the games link is a silent protagonist which feeds into his stoicism and heroism. The more I think about it, film won’t capture that vibe.

I reckon they will struggle to get the vibe right. But I seriously hope they can pull it off and do the games justice. This could be so damn cool

I don’t think Nintendo would announce before Christmas, as then people would hold off buying a new switch to wait for switch 2..

If anyone has a niece/nephew or kid who is 4-8 this is sure to be a winner. My kids adore this show and I’ll be honest some of the episodes ie baby race will hit you in the feels

This is hilarious! I for one am super intrigued to see how hogwarts legacy turns out on switch. And am in awe of how the creations of JK Rowling were originally lauded and have now somehow become a trigger for division.

I wonder if switch is going to run out of steam now. Will be unlikely to pass any other device now surely. Is still ?20 mil behind ds and ps2. Still an amazing effort especially to bounce back from WiiU. I do recall after WiiU failed people talking about the financial war chest they still had after the success of the Wii. Surely Nintendo has many $$$s in the bank now
