I've made it about halfway through Intergrade (which i bought for $10 a couple months ago. shame.)
Deciding if I should buy the sequel or if by the time I actually finish Intergrade if I'll be burnt out of ff7 or not (after oot and my switch sports resort phase wears off lol)

Might want to look into an Ayn Thor or retroid pocket duo. They are clamshell snapdragon handhelds running Android and switch emulation (running your own dumped games) is not bad on the former.

Of course, it takes a lot of tinkering to set up but might be something you'd want to check out! Lots of games are getting dual screen mods and native recompilations which perform way better than emulators

Seems like a LONG shot but I'll be there day 1 for a lite model. Having the power of my switch 2 in a compact and comfortable form factor would be awesome, and leave my main one for homebrew and tv play.

But I would be pretty concerned with battery life...

@Krisi the thing about free to play games (or at least GOOD free to play games) being a time sink is because they're made to be competitive and replayable. Of course a game like this would be a time sink, but because it's a game you're meant to get better and better at as you climb through the ranks. I played a bit of this game (and admittedly, bought a skin because I really liked the game) but never spent any money on meta because it wasn't really that hard to get your items to a high level if you just played the game for a bit.

That's not to say I think free to play games are void of predatory microtransactions (this game had so many promotional popups and weird gacha events towards the end of its lifespan) but if you have the self control to play a competitive game without spending a dime it can be a really fulfilling game!

I hope the online nintendo store can do a midnight delivery to my house...

I'll admit my desktop is really powerful and I can push it super hard on java while holding at least 120fps at 1440p but bedrock feels significantly worse there. java runs fine on my Ryzen ai 5 laptop as well, but that's newer hardware

Just kinda assumed that difference in java and bedrock held true at lower specs too 😅

Point stands, a 16 year old block game should not be dropping frames on a brand new console regardless of new shaders

Well, as a physical owner of the switch 1 port (and now a PC player predominantly) I am definitely not giving this my money. No mouse mode, and vibrant visuals isn't even a very good-looking shader pack. And we are STILL dropping frames on the switch 2 in MINECRAFT??? This game runs great (java edition) on potatoes. Unbelievable.

Greetings from America, I'm window shopping here. Crawl sounds interesting but I'd struggle to get 4 people together interested to maximize the game.

Also, I've played the first 30 minutes of Inscryption on steam, and even from that I can 100% recommend the game. I can't really put my finger on whether it'll be a rougelike or horror game and I love it! I should really boot it back up

@Slowdive hi I'm @ing you one because I think it's funny to do so even when you say not to but also to say that while I think there are huge negatives to ai, it has made so many hobbyist projects in homebrew and emulation possible that people with ideas do not have the skills or time to produce otherwise. Of course, there's huge value to learning these skills yourself, but watching how rapidly some of these projects come out from "your average Joe" with a Claude subscription is truly mind blowing.

EXCITING!!! I managed to get the demo for smilebasic from the jp eShop (not sure if it's down there yet) so I may play around with it a little before updating my system firmware for ocarina of time.

Hoping we eventually get a full jailbreak because I really love the dual potential of my modded OLED. I can still play my switch games online and get to tinker with cool emulators and homebrew on the same system. Super fun!

I'm impressed Nintendo was ok with that, even if the mods are officially approved.

I wonder if the new upscaling tech is PC only or if it will have performance benefits in the switch 2.

I should get around to actually playing the story in this game. I was having too much fun driving around and committing grand theft auto to follow the objective, and if it's as good as people say it is it's time to start doing things.

@Not_Soos unfortunately no data mining will be happening on switch 2 games for the foreseeable future since nobody has been able to hack one yet. Switch homebrew is pretty widely available so people were able to crack into the first games files pretty easily

I thought I could resist a double dip... but oh man having a physical copy of peak might be worth it just for the funny points. Probably a solid 30 more dollars than i paid for the game on steam though lol

I still giggle when I scroll over the splitscreen menu option and 7 buttons pop up.

So glad they're still supporting this game, I prefer it to mkw personally. One day I'll get a 4k display and actually see the extra pixels my switch 2 is putting out 😂

Played mewgenics on PC but it got my vote. A very cool and in-depth tactics rougelike that I really should revisit as I didn't put much time into it when it came out.

I'm disappointed they didn't just port over all the sports from the first game. My original cartridge has been misplaced

I'll still probably end up picking this up anyway. Some cool sports ideas here!

I think it's funny that one review said "This isn’t merely Diablo with a Minecraft skin" and then IGN said "feeling like little more than a skin slapped onto a generic Diablo-like"

If I buy it im definitely not expecting diablo but early reviews and community sentiment make me think I may not enjoy it as much as I think I will

Considering the price point, those cons can hardly be considered cons. And hall effect? Insane. Been using my modded dualsense on my switch, wish I had hall effect sometimes so seeing it get this cheap is reassuring.

To be honest, for a long time i was unbelievably excited for this port. I've played plenty of this game on my PC in the last couple weeks, and even managed to get it running on my Ryzen ai 5 laptop. It barely runs there, but I enjoy playing during my breaks at university. Having it on my laptop does kinda take out some of the reasoning behind buying it on switch 2, but i have it wishlisted anyway waiting for a good discount to double dip.

Glad to hear that even the performance mode would run it better than my laptop haha!

If you need an addictive gameplay loop and some crazy power scaling, this is the game for you. I'm 25-30 hours into this season alone and still get new pieces of my build. I'm only on torment difficulty 10 out of 12 (the last 4 or 5 are exponentially huge jumps)

Been playing Diablo 4 (on PC) all week so idk if i'll get mc dungeons 2 just yet. One ARPG at a time!

Sea of thieves is a great game (mismanaged sure, but the core is great) but surely they should have something else in the pipeline. Interested to see what activision does with them. I wonder what having ties to Blizzard through activision could mean for crossovers or collaborative projects?

My very first console was the nsmb2 red 3ds xl. Can't say it was my favorite design, but it is very nostalgic to me. These days, I rock my NA SNES new 3ds xl and I ADORE it.

In the same way, I would probably get the Zelda variant if I didn't have a switch 2/ the hardware was improved but for $520 I'm plenty happy with my launch model

P.S. never owned one but the special edition switch lites were all beautiful. That palkia and dialga one almost had me open my wallet!

I have a lot of mainstream indies in my backlog/llibrary across steam and nintendo and some niche ones I found on social media on my steam wishlist. I admit I usually put a few hours in and only finish the ones that really suck me in. I voted 1-3 hours a week as when I get one i like i play it a lot, but a majority of my gaming is in live service games. I think it would average out to something like that

my dream was always that they port the character skins and maps to mk8d (or even a new game on the same engine) so we get the best of both worlds... an actually good racing game and preservation of the content.

That's crazy. I came to my shopping center last night to check and there wasn't a line at target or best buy. Still in line and from what I hear our target is cleared out and the line is huge behind me now.

Currently sitting in line at my local best buy, apparently I live in the right town for Pokemon as I got here 3 hours early and only 3 people were lined up. Two hours to go and is still pretty short!

I know I'm very lucky as my uncle lives in a bigger city where there was a significant line last night...

@Misima do you want to know the reason I really think it's better? Because I have played hundreds of hours of Fortnite and overwatch on switch 1, and hundreds on my PC. Going from switch 1 to pc on these games was like wearing glasses for the first time ever. And even moving from <100 to 240 when I upgraded my PC felt huge. Believe me, its not just a "marketing tactic"

Why do you think the switch 2 upgrades are popular products? Because people notice how much smoother it is to rotate your camera in 60 fps. That doesn't mean I could pick up a controller and tell you the difference in 90 and 100 fps, I can't do that. But what does matter to the gaming experience is doubling 30 fps into 60 fps before the diminishing returns start to make the increase a bit more redundant.

If you REALLY think a video game would be fun at 12 fps like a cartoon, I would love to see you try...

@Misima if you think 30 and 60 fps are the same I genuinely think you've never played a video game. And if you think 24 fps movies are the same as a 30fps game... I REALLY think you've never played a video game.

Now do you always need 60 fps? No, I don't think so. I loved botw/totk even though their frame pacing was not great and sometimes didn't even hit 30. But for a game with lots of action and more precise inputs than Zelda, 60 fps is a big selling point that I unfortunately doubt the switch 2 will be able to hold in this game (prove me wrong blizzard!!!)

I played with this new hero during the trial. I really like his mechanics, we'll see what changes for the full release.
