If you count Indies, probably 8-10 per month. I buy most Nintendo 1st party games, so that’s about one per month right off the bat.

Sonic is by far the deeper game. Mario has an edge for nostalgia, tho I love Sonic too. Mario is also the better looking and more polished game. I can’t say that I like Sonic better overall, but it does have better gameplay and mechanics….

@Grim I totally understand your sentiment, but at least this is in a blue state in a very blue city.

That said, I just got one and it’s very cool! I highly recommend it if you are in the fence.

@MamaSymphonia I love MKW too. But I think Crossworlds has more depth.

That’s just sad. Sonic is an excellent game and in some ways better than Mario Kart World

It’s kinda sad that Sonic hasn’t done better. In some ways it’s better than MKW. Love both but Sonic hasn’t done far more depth and better game play. Oddly, I think Mario Kart is far better graphically.

@BaldB3lper78 I bought it on ps5 for that very reason. I figure I can double dip when it goes on a deep discount on Switch 2 version

@Rentaro @rewzeku I can’t compare bc I haven’t played this, but Fantasy Life is really cool. It’s charming and can be played in bursts. Tons to do.

Day one buy for me. Generally Prefer Mario Kart, but Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed is an amazing game too.

That would be cool if this was at least integrated with Alexa or Siri

They should have either developed this more or bundled it with Welcome Tour and several other mini games- charged about $50 for it.

@Pillowpants exactly…. Motion control games just are not my cup of tea. Imo, this game should have been included in a bundle with Welcome Tour and some other games that showcase the new tech and capabilities of this console.

@Lenzo I missed several generations and bought the WiiU to get back into gaming. Imagine several others like me who haven’t played Nintendo since the 90s. It was something that was probably picked up by default, along with Mario Kart.

@Pat_trick right now, yeah, but what about when they come out with new compelling games? That said, I agree with in that 30 percent or more probably won’t upgrade….but it will still produce respectable numbers. And a few other things….loading times are much faster, speakers are better, screen is bigger, mouse functionality….

@Pat_trick not really. Nintendo hasn’t really ever been about power. Having the power of a PS4 Pro on the go is pretty cool- then to get a boost in Docked Mode with DLSS is nice. For most people this is easily good enough. In fact, for the vast majority of people, the Switch is good enough. If the Switch 2 is going to be a success, it’s going to have to be for its software to convert Switch 1 users to Switch 2.

We have reached the point of diminishing returns. We have not even seen what the Ps5 and Series X are capable of. So, for you, it doesn’t clear the bar, but people like you are far and away a niche. Let’s see how well the Xbox ROG sells.

@Axecon agreed….it won’t be as sticky as Mario Kart, but I bet it will have consistent sales for at least the rest of the year and perhaps beyond.

I have read several other reviews and this is by far the most critical. Most echoed the sentiments, but ended up giving it a five or a six….i will pick this up at a deep discount later on…

@darkfenrir definitely….if they are too cheap to include it free, at least include it on Nintendo Switch Online to avoid the PR disaster that this has become. And same with Mario Kart World. Ok, maybe charge extra for a physical copy- I am thankful for the bundle. But May as an NSO benefit, you get MKW for $70?

It’s sad that people aren’t talking about what a great game it is but instead are discussing the price.

@Dan420 yeah, they still have sever Nintendo first party games at a discount, so I think Donkey Kong will be available at this price for a while. Sorry for the miscommunication.

I hope it gets some updates. I am deliberately not playing it much bc I want something to do when the magic of the new tracks wears off. It’s cool and I am glad they developed it, but it really needs a little more umph.

I think it’s absolutely amazing. I like the open world, but I share tge sentiment that more can be done with it. OtherWise, I really love the direction the franchise headed. This will keep me occupied for hundreds of hours….

I would love something like this, but I have too many devices rn. I will wait a few years before I consider a portable Xbox

I wonder if this served two purposes….1. Test updating the games in practice….2. Use it as informal marketing intelligence….see how many bother to update ARMS to see if a sequel is warranted….

I got one bc I didn’t get one last generation and they were only $75 at Costco. Glad I got it but wish they had analog triggers. Given this, I don’t think it’s a big enough upgrade if you have one from a Switch 1 system.

I absolutely think it’s worth $80, tho I question whether the PR hit for this price point and charging $10 for the demo were worth it for Nintendo. I saw someone on YouTube mention that instead of talking about how great the game is, people are instead talking about how it’s $80.

This Rainbow Road is easily the best of the bunch. The sound track is amazing and details in the game are so cool.

@Grimley141 yeah, I had a similar experience. Very smooth. I decided to buy Cyberpunk from them bc of how easy it was. I waited longer for Amiibo back in the day

Ugghhhhh…. So needlessly confusing. What if I want to keep my OG switch for Switch one games, but don’t want to transfer that data to my new Switch bc I don’t have a large enough memory card? Am I going to have to eternally lend the cartridge to my new Switch?

Definitely getting this…. Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed is one of my all time favorite games.
