Re: Video: Will Switch First-Party Games Ever Get A Permanent Price Drop?

@BulkSlash yeah, Nintendo has done a great job protecting their brand. I don’t have an issue with pricing. The issue I have is the release of half baked games and then charging full price. Golf turned out ok. Tennis, tho I enjoyed it, really could have used more… not going to even consider Strikers until more content is released…

I like these tracks better as well. As mentioned in the review and above, the textures could be better….I think the new track is pretty cool too. Another thing…. I can’t decide if I would rather have them all at once or spread out. I also wish they would some of the cool stufff in Tour with different cars and variations of characters. One last thing, is it me or is the music on Kalamari Desert remastered as well?

@Ryu_Niiyama this is indeed very lazy. It’s like throwing a starving dog table scraps. The scraps might not be bad, but for f’s sake, the game is approaching ten years. These should have been released yeas ago and we should be eying a proper unique MK for the Switch.

That said, I still think the pricing and value for the new tracks was pretty decent. I think I have about 55 hours so far on my Switch version. I bet by the time we get all the tracks, I will have about 75-80 hours.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About Wave 2 Of The Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pack?

@OrtadragoonX I am pretty sure that ultimately the WiiU ended up being profitable or at least breaking even. . If not, how much do you have to sell to become profitable? 103 million software sales. At least as far as components, I thought the WiiU was not sold at a loss like other consoles. If it was selling at a loss during the launch, certainly by mid lifecycle the cost of components came down at least some to make it break even or become profitable per unit basis. I wonder how much they put into developing the console.

Schrodinger’s video gamer…. How is it possible to be excited and not excited at the same time? Only Nintendo could swing this. One the one hand, it’s more content for my favorite franchise and game of all time. It’s reasonably priced.

Otoh, this is so lazy. Even the new tracks don’t have the same textures as the original 48. This should have been released 2-3 years ago and we should be looking forward to a proper Mario Kart for the Switch. {{{{{Sigh}}}}}

@HOUSE I agree. I have mixed emotions about the Switch too. I got the Ps5 about a week ago and have had Series X series x since January. I am not huge on graphics and frame rates, but it’s the load times that are making the Switch feel dated. I still love the Switch. Still my favorite console bc I love handhelds. It has the best library. But unless I really want to play the game on the fly or performance doesn’t matter,, like TMNT, I am probably going to choose another venue.

Re: Nintendo Switch Sales See 24% Increase In June In The UK

@dystome as a console it definitely feels dated. I have mixed emotions about a new hardware upgrade….I am not huge on graphics, but after playing games on series x, it’s the loading times that make the Switch feel so old. So, would I rather see a new iteration sooner, or have them stretch it out a little longer, but have more noticeable improvement? I would rather see them wait in hopes of a bigger leap in power.

Re: Nintendo Showcases Some Slick New Hairstyles For Splatoon 3

I like the series in a sense… but just not a huge fan of the genre. Wouldn’t mind them doing something a lot different as DLC (something that’s more platforming or even a sim) or even a spin-off of this. What’s going to happen is that it will be released with sparse content and monthly upgrades and updates. It’s like they are easing us into games as a subscription service without us knowing it,
