Kinda interesting. This site is UK based. I figured the Nintendo following here was bigger. But as pointed out, proportionally, the Switch has only sold slightly less than here in the States….I guess it’s more surprising that the Xbox sold so well over there. I find it interesting that France apparently has a very loyal Nintendo following.
No Mario Kart! Glad to see sales slowing down… maybe we get at least a Switch revision next year. Also glad to see Baynetta doing well. Tempted to buy it, but will probably wait for a sale….
@PikaPhantom as much as I like Apple Arcade, it’s arguable that their gaming impact is negligible. If Apple can’t make a dent, how would Netflix manage? It might be cool to have a complimentary game for a series, but I would think that would be difficult to time as far as development…
@OnlyItsMeReid exactly….and when I go somewhere different, I forget to open the app. I still do it every now and then but there’s just not much depth to this game
So, I went to Texas Tech. For whatever reason, we throw tortillas at the kick off of the football game. Student leadership saw what a tremendous waste this was, so they suggested donating tortillas to the food bank instead of tossing them. Eight bins were placed about the stadium and guess how many tortillas were donated? Zero. This is what the Bayonotta boycott reminds me of.
Did anyone actually boycott? Did anyone donate to her suggested charities? I am not buying it- but it has more to do with the fact that I don’t need another game to play rn.
@Johnno137426 it’s unfortunate that licensing prohibits a lot of games from being in the collection….there’s a ton of games from the Lynx I would also like to see….
@Korgon agreed. There were a few games that used it well, but it was largely ignored. Would have been cool if the WiiU version of Breath of the Wild had gamepad features….
Rayman and Wonderful 101 are best on the WiiU. NintendoLand is criminally underrated. WiiU Sport U is fun. Most of the meat has been picked off the bone with all of the ports. But I loved the WiiU and the GamePad. It was just too late for its time.
Just don’t see how this has totaled $450MM. As mentioned, a lot of the sales from the first one were bargain bin. I am guessing the WiiU plus port was maybe 1.5 million. Then I bet this will sell no more than 2 million. Take out development and marketing costs and I don’t see this actually netting much for Nintendo….
To be fair, I can sympathize with her to a point. But I think it was foolish to pass on this project, as she still got a decent offer and would be able to add this to her body of work. She should have addressed this after the fact and in a less divisive manner…
I don’t like the DLC so much as I want to own it anyway. I purchased Splatoon DLC before it was available on the service. I could see myself playing both ACNH and MK8D dlc for years and don’t want it tied to the service. As for the other stuff- I am not big on retro gaming so much. It might get more interesting with GameCube
@ModdedInkling almost 5 million on WiiU is very impressive, considering it only had a user base of 13 million plus….glad it’s doing well for Nintendo and the franchise. I don’t care for these types of game except campaign/single player….but I love the universe…. Has a lot of charm and Nintendo magic.
@BloodNinja I am sympathetic, but I think she went about this the wrong way. On the surface it does sound paltry, but the hourly rate doesn’t justify the slap in the face she feels that it is. I think she should have maybe gotten together with other major voice actors, the union and developers to make her case. This tactic probably sabotaged her career and what about all the others who worked on the project and are also underpaid?
@Nintendo4Sonic Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed is so underrated….the first four tracks are as good as any on any Kart racer….but I see some cool playable characters. Might get this on a sale….
@SepticLemon it was a lot of fun! Maybe not quite the next Tetris, but it was really fun. For some reason, I thought Paper Boy was Atari. And what was the suite of games that came with the Lynx- surfing, skating and maybe a few others? Didn’t it come with the system?
@Grumble I love Atari too. Definitely a day one purchase as well. I loved the Lynx. It was so ahead of its time. Also had two computers and of course lived arcade. That said, I wanted to want the VCS, but just couldn’t….I know it serves sones useful functions, but I would rather have a Steamdeck or Digital Ps5.
@IronMan30 he has suggested to drop hardware altogether…. Put all IP on other platforms and mobile. After the Switch proved to be a success beyond anyone’s dreams, he said Nintendo’s next console should be a dongle. Good thing they don’t take his advice
I just don’t get why EA doesn’t make Madden or NHL for the Switch. Even if a nerfed version, it would probably at least sell as well as FIFA, if not better.
@yuwarite I don’t get the appeal either {logs 450 hours}
What’s interesting is that the main reason I play ACNH is for relaxing music and to just tool around mindlessly. If I get this, it will be on sale and on another system, maybe steam if I get a steam deck.
@romanista interestingly, I pulled the trigger on the Xbox version and downloaded it. But there must have been something wrong bc the Microsoft store refunded my $$$$. So I decided to get it on Switch instead….
I really love what Apple is doing with Arcade and wish Nintendo would do something similar with its online services….sponsor some smaller devs and have them create games exclusively for Nintendo….
@Pillowpants I never had the 2600 but I eventually got an Atari 400 and 800xl. I really enjoyed a lot of what Atari did. The Lynx was so ahead of its time and the arcade games were cool. Pretty much all of that is forgotten now
@sixrings the issue I have with less power isn’t so much as far as graphics but rather performance with load times and frame rate. I am starting to buy stuff on other systems now. Games that shouldn’t have performance issues are at times having problems on the Switch.

I love the DLC. I don’t play it that often, but it is nice to extend the game and play on impulse.

Re: Review: Mario Party 2 - Party Like It's 1999 With One Of The Best In The Series
I wish Nintendo polished up these games somewhat to 2022 standards. That would make the service worth it.

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For November And December 2022
Looking forward to Atari Collection for sure…. Maybe Tactics Ogre and Harvestella
Re: Nintendo's Pikmin Mobile Game Celebrates 1st Anniversary
This game is utterly pointless, but it has gotten me to walk and it’s not a bad way to kill a few minutes. Idk why anyone would spend $$$$ on it
