@progx I am just saying that the environment of 2025-2026 is vastly different from 2017-2021….bottom line is that there are more handheld options now than when Nintendo launched the Switch. .another thing that hasn’t been mentioned as far as competition is general competition for screen time. Entertainment has become so fractured with stuff like Tik Tok,Facebook, YouTube, other streaming services…..

The Switch has sold very well ,but it remains to be seen whether that momentum will carry over after its record breaking launch. I think things will definitely pick up, but it’s a matter of when.

@progx yeah, I get that it’s out of stock, but it has been in stock up until a month or two ago. And they are still I’m production to an extent. You can still get one used pretty easily used or just hold off on the purchase. You can get the basic Rog Ally for $500 on sale, which is pretty frequently. Then there’s the Portal. I know it’s a different animal, but you can stream most of your library if you have PSP,us.

Again, I don’t think this is a massive factor in the situation, but I bet it figured in for at least a few hundred thousand units.

@Nep-Nep-Freak this is what made me pull the trigger. I know this isn’t so challenging, but I am just not very good. I also wanted to get the complete edition just for grins….

It’s like the WiiU in that there’s not a singular reason for its respective predicament. The bottom line is that a lot of people and families simply don’t have $450 and now $80 for its most popular game or $70 for the others. That said, the vast majority of casual gamers are just fine with the Switch. Then others are waiting for the big games to come out. Finally, whilst not quite as a big of a factor, but still something that should be considered, there’s other handheld options like Steam Deck, Rog Ally, PlayStation Portal (yea, I know you can’t play natively, but streaming is pretty legit)…..

Shut up and take my money. I preordered.

@Ramouz I love Cross Worlds. But as i mentioned, MKW is a far cleaner and more polished game. Cross Worlds is cool tho bc you have far more customization and depth. Plus as I also mentioned, these updates are really nice.

While I like MKW more as a polished game, I really appreciate the better support and updates from Sega on Cross World.

If I am doing well financially, I might get one bc I think stuff like this is cool. That said, I will have more interest in the next handheld system.

I liked Xenotilt from the start but it has grown on me even more. Great game if you are on the fence. Ball x Pitt is even better

I wish they didn’t restrict most of this to multi player. This is going to be one of the biggest criticisms in reviews…..not enough content for single players to justify purchase.

I bought it yesterday on impulse. I really wasn’t planning on getting.

@LightSpirit I kinda get that they want to push multi player in that it creates bonds, strengthens the brand through family and friends connecting…. But this shouldn’t be at the expense of solo players. I just don’t have many friends who want to play Nintendo with me.

I’ll get it, but so disappointing that it’s lacking in single player content….why is Nintendo doing this…..

@JR150 the WiiU was a combination of several unfortunate things- timing with the advent of mobile gaming, poor marketing, unfortunate name…. I loved the system tho. It’s ironic that Sony is now doing well with its version of the Gamepad in the portal…,and is revisiting handheld gaming after its flop with the Vita.

I love it. I have it on Ps5 tho. I didn’t want to wait for the S2 edition. I will buy the cart for the S2 when it goes on sale. If u are on the fence about this, get it! I like Sonic Crossworlds better than MKW in some ways. Tho MKW is more polished, I like the deeper gameplay better. I think Crossworlds is more accessible too long term. You can still progress on the fast tracks by adjusting AI difficulty and modding the cars and slots.

I am axcited and disappointed at the same time. I think they could do a lot more with it with mini games. That said, it’s a clear day one purchase for me. Loved the 3ds version.

Getting it day one for sure. I wish this had mini games or rather, mini games were more of the focus.

Rayman Legends is criminally underrated.

I am buying no matter what, unless it just reviews terribly.. I loved it on 3ds. That said, I hope that it progresses from the 3ds version and it’s not just more of the same. I hope it has customization of the island and some cool mini games….

Mario Kart World, Lumines Arise, Animal Crossing, Mario Wonder, Sonic Cross World, Ender Magnolia and Dave the Diver.

@FishyS I feel your sentiments. I will probably end up getting it just because I want the complete edition and experience. But it’s a bit disappointing that Nintendo keeps pushing this multiplayer experience down our throats.

So, I am happy with the update. I would have paid $20 if it had more substance. I guess they did this as a cheap way to sell this to S2 owners who don’t have this already? I suppose also as a bone to throw us for $70-$80 games as a goodwill gesture. I don’t think it will generate too much cash from the upgrade alone.

I I’ll get the cart when it drops in price a bit. I have this game on Ps5. I didn’t want to wait

@sportymariosonicmixx you can save essential data and archive the game. Download it later when u want to play it. Or if you have Nintendo Switch Online, it saves your data automatically.

@Lizuka exactly…. I only have the opportunity to play multiplayer a few times per year. I know Nintendo wants to encourage multiplayer, but do they have to shove it down our throats?

@GregamanX the Portal is pretty cool….i still think the S2 will eventually be a worthy investment….

@GregamanX it doesn’t have to be either/or….i can’t imagine just having one. I like what Sony has to offer, but I love handheld gaming. Yeah, the Switch 2 is slightly lacking now, but things will improve before you know it…

@SoIDecidedTo it’s not fair to compare World to 8- 8 was out over a decade. I think World is better than 8 that we saw in 2014.

What they should have done was create a Welcome Tour bundled with some other games like Drag X Drive and charged $60. But make it worth $60.

I had very little interest in the 2600 bc i wanted to go to the arcade for better graphics and overall experience. I did end up getting an Atari 400 and later an 800xl and loved them.

I wish they did a Nintendo Land for Switch 2 that would have included Drag X Drive and Welcome tour, among other mini games. I would gladly pay $60-$70 if it had enough content to justify the purchase. But no way was I going to pay for what seemed like two tech demos, $30 total.

So…..I was sold on this bc….well, I pretty much buy almost everything Kirby. I think I have only missed the buffet and the other smaller game in the last ten years. But did we really need yet another direct, an hour one at that?

@MARl0 exactly what I thought…. I watched the video on YouTube and was so hoping they would eventually get to a Switch 2 version/upgrade. I guess it’s cool to have this stuff, but a few bones to early adopters would be nice.

It’s pretty cool and would definitely recommend it if you like pinball, but I don’t think it’s a 9….

Costco has the Switch 2 version for 10 percent off….
