Question: which of these hold up best by today's standard? I remember wanting to play Kotor back in the day, but feels like there must be better games to invest in nowadays that do more or less the same thing but in newer dressings, or? (Note: I'm not partial to the Star Wars universe or not, just after great games.)
Yeah this has a low chance of making the switch. I would be super excited though! (As long is it's not ported in the same way the trilogy was 😁 but receives some real love)
Haha, gotta love the confidence of this statement:
"Ubisoft Brazil basically confirmed Rainbow Six Siege and Assassin's Creed Mirage"
That, or they asked if we would like to see those on Switch 2, you know as they asked in the tweet (Not saying Mr or Miss Stealth is wrong though, but I'd phrase it a bit further away from a confirmation 😁)
Anyway, can't say I'd not be happy about Mirage. Ubisoft has had a mixed history with me overall, and company practices aside - of which I know too little but I sense the resentment - there are still a few gems in there that I wouldn't mind showing up.
I'm very confused after this update; some games show as virtual game card games but still aren't playable and it says I need to redownload them, while others have the old archived symbol. I have no clue what's supposed to be the difference, but the worrying thing is that I'm quite sure some of those games like Balatro are/were installed but now it says to redownload them, though no visible difference on the card icon compared to other games that I can play.
Hopefully storage is not taken up by those (bit worried since the archive option is grayed out but no more space on console or SD card). I wonder if I'm hallucinating or if anyone else experience the same and possibly even have an explanation?
Haha cheers, very true. My bad since I only play Mario Kart with them. Well, DID play before the update 😅 (while he and his brother plays Kirby Clash - guess they can keep doing that at least then 😁)
I'm sad this seems to break being online with two systems at once for one game. My kids and/or I use it often to play online games of Mario Kart or Kirby Clash vs/with each other while only owning one copy of the game. This will sck badly (especially for them) 🙈
I guess for many other use cases this might be a better solution just not for us 😅
How did I not know Split Fiction was a 10/10 game? Wow, now on my radar for sure!
And @cosmograph, I feel exactly the same! Game choice overload is a real issue 😆 I am really trying to stick to one game at a time now, but if something tempting comes along that I can't resist it totally disrupts the experience (at times I don't even get back to the game I was playing). The Switch 2 launch will for sure disrupt some current Switch 1 experience... Can't wait all the same
I still can't believe they didn't put a camera on the console itself when pushing it as such a big deal feature - especially seeing the Wii U had it 😅
I would have liked being on camera and seeing friends actually, but I'm doubtful I'll ever invest in camera infrastructure to make it happen - especially when needed to plug in each time if I understand correctly (if it could permanently be attached to the dock that would've been another thing)
Would have loved to hear them stating with confidence that "drift issues will be a thing of the past". Since they haven't said that, I'll still worry 🙈 Would rather have rough-feeling sticks just as long as I don't need to buy four separate replacement joy cons as with Switch 1 so far.
Same experience for me with MK DS! I stayed up long nights either playing with friends or competing for records on the online leaderboards popping up after launch. Good times.
Sixrings and Banjo, glad it wasn't the case You're certainly engaged on the topic.
I'm kind of on purpose trying to think about what I AM getting from S2 rather than what I won't be receiving. But there for sure is stuff I wish had been different, but I'll live Still, will mention some below that I haven't seen anyone else wondering about:
Why no camera built in like on WiiU if chat is such an important part of the experience? No way I'll chug along a camera and plug in e.g. on the bus 😅
Will the new "lend a game to a friend" system break the current digital sharing with primary console etc? I can now play online Mario Kart on 2 switches at home with only one copy, worried this will be an expensive downgrade for me :/
Btw, "Why are we getting two kart racers in such a short time" was my exact thought too 😁
Sixrings and Banjo, out of curiosity, you don't sound as if you've been happy with Nintendo for quite some time. I hear about 2013 tech, outdated, overpriced, underpowered etc, but don't you think the S2 is an improvement over where S1 was upon release?
@Coalescence We're on opposite ends of this! Well, at least that makes sure one of us will have tons of fun with each iteration of MK! 😁 Seems you're on the winning side this time around - guess I'll wait for MK 10 in 2035 (a lie, pre-ordered the pack-in haha)
I came here to comment basically everything you said. The traffic chaos and the changing tracks worry me. I prefer my MK when the racing is as pure as possible and you feel that each lap is a potential rematch vs your previous lap (not a completely new experience), this seems the opposite :/
After reading up on this... Not too happy I hadn't consented to "Allow sharing of usage information to recieve personalized offers and recommendations" before March 31 😆
I don't get the upset about 449 for new tech right now? I expected 399-499 and I think plenty did, what with everything from food to hardware to whatever going up with 50% in price just the past years, why would we be spared here? Is Nintendo supposed to be samaritans?
Also, everyone wanted a unit not too heavily underpowered this time too, and I think it looks alright in that department, so I feel it's a kinda "privileged/self-indulgent" viewpoint to feel we deserve it cheaper.
Lastly, all these negative slants regarding "there are so many, many questions still in the air with Switch 2..." makes me kinda tired people. Can't we just be a bit excited together and not contribute to the negative spiraling fad of the global community? I'm saying this realising I now sound negative saying so haha 😆 All said with love peeps 😁😘
(Note: 680 USD is the price of the base unit here. 750 with MKW. That's a big bloody ouch. So quite jealous if 449/499 end up being the final price - would be surprised with those new tariffs though :/)
I'd appreciate being able to invite people to become friends with a nickname or just a link I can share through text, discord, WhatsApp or whatever (or see which of my phone contacts, social network friends etc are on the service if they choose to be discoverable). Didn't know I could share my friend code as a QR code, guess that's semi alright if a bit convoluted.
It seems they didn't figure out how to plug this peripheral to the dock instead of the Switch itself, which makes me sad. There's just no way I'd plug in and unplug a camera for each play session on the telly (I would actually use this otherwise)
Hope there will be a workaround somehow but I guess the dock connector is busy shuffling other data, eh
Very happy for the game's success. I played it some hours when it came out, but I didn't understand how the gameplay loop made people so addicted. I still don't, and reading about it always make me feel like I'm missing out by not being hooked, lol. Guess I should appreciate the time I'm saving though
I just love Super Mario World so much, clear #1 for me. Even if SM64 blew me away the most on first impression, the game that still today gives me almost equal amounts of fun is SMW. Quite a feat.
Ever since Dell got rid of bezels on laptops many, many years ago with its XPS line I've become a bezel snob (I'm not on Dell anymore, but wouldn't consider a laptop with thick bezels). I don't care (too) much about no oled, but the bezels do disturb me 😅 Hey, I'm still buying haha
I would bet revenue from people buying extra games due to availability of different regions (me) sort of balance out whatever revenue Nintendo might lose on people using other regions for buying a "cheaper version" (maybe some of these would never make the purchase otherwise either). So, making things more inaccessible in any form is just dumb imo, since an open world is far more attractive.
(I think Netflix took the opposite path of region locking, since I never could watch my account when I travelled which made me so frustrated, but in the past years they must have opened up since I haven't had any issues with that anymore )
With Wii U everyone said they messed up bad with the naming, confusing people to what it was, and should have just called it Wii 2. Seems lesson learned
They had a concept everyone could get behind with the Wii, people thought they should have just upped the specs to enable more ports etc. Seems they listened (I personally loved the Wii U though; I think it was brilliant and still find no equivalent to some of the multiplayer offerings utilizing the extra screen)
The reveal itself was lame I felt, quite sure the last leak showing the console off forced their hand. That sucked. But... I'm still excited about it and will buy asap 😁 I have some slight hope it can improve some of my current fav games (E.g. Sky is so slow compared to on mobile, so look forward to flying as fast as my friends Maybe I'm naive about it running old games better though?) as well as enable some games to run on the Switch that couldn't be released on the original. Will be awesome either way.
I'm OK with removing the tank controls, but no sneaking around with that exciting tiptoeing? :/ I'm not too pleased with this outcome, might still try it out... We will see, since one of my most magical PC games as a youth.
So if I write a book or build a game, you can steal the manuscript or code base and sell it yourself with no repercussions? No thank you. Anarchy might be intriguing for some, but I prefer the world to not plummet into complete chaos with a "survival of the most immoral" mentality.

THANK YOU. I was going crazy that this app didn't show up in search so thought it wasn't available in my country until I looked at the start of this video 🙏
My battery drained twice overnight... Never happened before. Either it's the sleep mode or not going into sleep automatically after the time setting (I have it on 30 min). Oled model.
I also had troubles connecting to the server for several days but that might have nothing to do with this. It was both problematic with the "Connecting to see if you can play this game" message on my second switch when trying to verify playing a game I share between both switches, but also connecting to eShop on both switches. This started working again now
@JDCII Yeah, right? Not sure I'll ever be as engrossed as by those first steps outside the grotto (or outside the plateau) starting to explore a brand new world. I'm jealous of my old self getting to experience BotW in that place and time. Masterpiece.
Argh, playing it through right now but didn't know about any eagle boss battle until just now :/ I really should just stay away from Zelda articles haha 😅
And to me, sidescrolling Zelda isn't important, other series can scratch that itch
Was intrigued about this one, sadly the demo didn't sell it for me. It just felt kind of bland with none of the areas being beautiful or very engaging :/
Tried to replicate this glitch and couldn't haha. Anyway, glitch aside, I've realised I'm not as good as I thought in these games and am slowly accepting the truth of that 😂 (best result top 500 / 0.8% and 7th my age, but more often hovering around the top 5%, while naively thinking I'd consistently be a top 100 contender 🙈)
@gloinart would absolutely love for this to have a closer zoom option (especially for the from behind camera); this would take this to the next level for me. The feeling of the skiier carving through the snow is amazing and I just wanna go down the mountains more up close - I missed it immediately and still do
Btw, will this ever be reviewed on here or any other big gaming site for Switch? Can't believe it hasn't gotten more coverage, first saw it while browsing the Switch news and read the "Sports games on Switch" so nearly missed this gem completely
Dled on a big discount and couldn't believe what I've been missing. LOVELY game! Kudos to you @gloinart and anyone else involved in bringing this to market
This line caught my attention from the general assembly:

Sounds as if Capcom will keep pushing out titles that will struggle also on the successor of Switch, not just the current Switch. I'm OK with that, even if I don't care too much for photo-realism (yet anyway).
As for calling it investors in the article as well as some comments saying "investors don't care about quality"... All on the general assembly are owners of the company and some not from having purchased shares as such, since there are also shares having been granted to staff, or the family of the founder Kenzo, etc. So I think calling it questions from the owners of the company is more suitable and for sure some of those at the meeting care a lot for the quality But I agree it's easy to generalize it and I tend to agree on investors as far as traditional investors go (in it for the money 🙄 but I'd make a difference between institutional investors and individuals with a passion that also happen to have tons of money)
I am not into speedrunning, but under certain conditions I seem to find it addictive. (Rayman Legends, MK, now this)
I just replayed the first Mario course at least 20 times over just to confirm to myself 21.16 seems to be the fastest time doable (got it over and over and couldn't find any mistake or way to improve, but bet someone has still beaten it faster lol). And the same for some other courses in the world championship 🏆 Sooooo at least for the first few hours it hooked me bad 😅 Might get bored of it though, we'll see. Helps I grew up with NES though
Give me ISS or Sensible World of Soccer (no, not sociable soccer) and I'll be somewhat happy, give me PES 3 or 6 and I'd be in heaven. Any PES would do but those two made my days back in the early 2000s ✨
Wow, one of the best games from my teen year's that I completely forgot about, until reading this! I can't remember if it was LBA 1 or 2 that I loved so much though 🤔

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Football Games
Still waiting for a decent footy...
Give me ISS or Sensible World of Soccer (no, not sociable soccer) and I'll be somewhat happy, give me PES 3 or 6 and I'd be in heaven. Any PES would do but those two made my days back in the early 2000s ✨
Re: 1994 Classic 'Little Big Adventure' Is Getting A Full Remake, Out This Year
Wow, one of the best games from my teen year's that I completely forgot about, until reading this! I can't remember if it was LBA 1 or 2 that I loved so much though 🤔
