Added my FC there and sent requests. And wow, first time I visited the forum in what must be a decade 🤣 Thanks for making me aware (again) of its existance
@SlimeRyu I came to comment to write exactly that haha. Very impressive to beat Xbox series S consistently and being comparable to PS5 in places. Not what I had counted on going into this generation (way better:))
Can anyone bring light to the article mentioning TMR sticks on these, while there is a ”Hall sensing” stick upgrade for 35 dollars or so on the site. Is this the same thing, or do they come with TMR as standard?
Lol, crazy but I think I totally missed that City Folk was even a thing. And yes, I did have a Wii and yes, I did play a lot those years haha.
Anyway, I never really got into Animal Crossing again after being very enamoured with the GameCube game I got in September 2002. I remember clearly being fascinated by the game keeping the same rhythm as my real life and actually having different events and happenings matching weekends and holidays etc. I was curious to experience the first Christmas ever, New Year’s and so on. And I also found it super cool to leave notes on the notice board for my girlfriend at the time. Finding NES games, finally paying off those mortgages, and above all listening to KK Slider on his visits were highlights along the way.
Now, 24 years later, digging the same holes and shaking the same trees doesn’t do much for me. I am sure I’m very wrong, but it just feels like the same game to me but with less magic. Same fossils, same museum, what is there for me to explore in this Switch rendition? Very happy for those of you who kept the magic alive, bit jealous, but I’ll try to find my way back one day to that joyous feel I got hearing the sound of KK Slider tunes echoing down my little village street.
@headmold I understand, we’re reading it slightly different but that’s fine. Nintendolife is most of the time my sole source of content and usually there is more on point Switch 2 related info than in this review (imo). Still enjoyed reading it, but felt a bit lost before fellow commenters helped give more flavor.
Just like Zeeba above I have one Switch 2 and two Switch (one Oled). On the fence if worth replacing one of the Switches to Switch 2 - I guess more games in the future will be Switch 2 only even if Gameshare is a thing.
This has completely passed me by before, what a cool looking game with seemingly high production value. This is, to me, one of those games that would benefit well from a demo!
Li_bae and headmold, I think you might be missing the point: the odd thing is the review raising negatives for it not being PS5 level, which is a given, rather than giving info/potential negatives compared to other Switch 2 games. Right now it’s not easy to understand if this is actually an impressive Switch 2 port or an underwhelming one, going by the review alone.
The review doesn’t really make me understand just how compromised the visuals are. Anyone with the game can give any comparisons to other ports and how poor or well this is doing? For example, is it worse or better than Doom and The Witcher on Switch 1 in terms of muddiness (awesome on Switch 2)?
Based on the people involved this could be a great game! Not sure why, though, but the design and especially the character designs scream of mobile gaming to me and not in a good way - no offense meant to mobile games in general but the style isn’t my cup of tea. Here’s hoping the game will be surpassing my initial, admittedly superficial, reaction.
Anyway, about the movie: just watched it and thought it was great fun! Very unexpected after reading the review on NL, so I guess thanks are in order for setting my expectations low
I adored the Yoshi sequence when he told how he ended up in a warp pipe, lol.
As for Easter eggs, I liked seeing Excitebike on the monitor. But there were so many. Music nostalgia hit all the time as well, and the movie was super on point with sound bits too. Well done.
@thenikdavies my situation exactly! I actually think this chat looks really neat and well implemented, if only I had had access to something like this during my school years when I also had people to game with
I’d just love to pay 99 cents for even every jump in Mario; I constantly look for more ways to waste money. This investor speaks mine and most gamers’ language I hear! Way to be in touch with the market, more money focus and less creativity ftw ;p
This made my interest grow beyond the review The review was great and all but I could clearly tell how much of a fan PJ is and not fully sure our tastes align. This seems up my alley though!
Never heard of this one previously, love what I’m hearing. Now I only need another life to sit down through this wad of quality backlog games piling up!
Played this as a kid, got stuck quite early I believe and never really came back to it - don’t think this will make me return unless reviews surprise me!
RPG Site: ”Even once it started raining, the game hit the 30FPS target consistently.”
Polygon: ”The performance is far from perfect. The biggest dip in frame rate I saw was when it started raining while riding.”
So either RPG Site never got up riding or something is off here
@Max_the_German AC Shadows is stable in handheld I’d agree, though that game completely blew me away with its looks in docked mode - with rain falling down and wind through the trees, I couldn’t believe this was on Switch 2 Mesmerizing!
Sounds on all posts as if Style Savvy is the superior experience. @Zaruboggan - making FD into a small piece of Style Savvy would make a lot of sense then.
At not even three years of age it does feels a bit premature to close down online services. I suppose the userbase playing and going online is small? Anyone on here played this or Style Savvy?
Tales of Berseria, it confused me if Velvet was a hero or a villain in the promo video but I finally figured it out XD
It would be interesting to know the volume of sales here for all, and maybe sometime in the future if you can make a list of sales comparing cross regions that’d be cool

@Dm9982 Thanks for info on using the same engine - makes me way more optimistic it should come to S2, especially considering Shadows running so well.

@AussieMcBucket It was supposed to release March 27 for all platforms. Then May 27 but Switch 2 even further delayed.

Re: Splatoon Raiders Is Alive, And It's Out This Summer On Switch 2
Looks a bit more frantic than I expected, which is usually not my preference. Curious to see how I’ll feel about it.
Re: Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Will Finally Be Revealed This Week
This was fun at the time. Not too excited though about a revisit, but enjoying my time immensely with AC Shadows!

Re: Rumour: Red Dead Redemption May Be Getting A Rubbish 'Code-In-A-Box' Release

Re: Lana Del Rey Releases 007 First Light Official Theme Song
Sounds proper Bond Didn’t know that nugget about Spectre before. Cautiously hyped for this - always worried about how the porting will end up 😅

@Darthmoogle this took me by surprise too and not in a ”lol, funny” way. You should tag along with BrewsterTea and me

@BrewsterTea We should do that, thanks for suggesting!

Okay, I can respect devs and publishers making these upgrades free! It would be so easy to charge 1.99 or something - which would also be fair though.
Re: New Survival Game 'Pickmon' Is Just Asking To Be Sued Into Oblivion
That’s not Pikachu! Look, he got a piece of hair! ;p
Anyway, this is ridiculuous and with no respect for IP at all. Sad thing though is that this is way better looking than any official Pokémon games.
NETWORKGO is the publisher, only having Hainya World under its belt which is still in early release from 2023, hmm…
