Tales of Berseria, it confused me if Velvet was a hero or a villain in the promo video but I finally figured it out XD
It would be interesting to know the volume of sales here for all, and maybe sometime in the future if you can make a list of sales comparing cross regions that’d be cool
Better reviews than I expected, very happy for everyone interested! I am curious if it can stand on its own without the Pokémon draw, but sure sounds like there is a lot to like.
This page had a link to an article about Elite Beat Agents and Ouendan - got me reminiscing for sure! Didn’t find my Lite however, but what a lovely device that was/is! Guess it’s in my garage in a box XD I did find a bunch of SPs.
Late comment here But just got here from a link and it took me back to university and playing Ouendan. I loved it 😊 I still prefer Gitaroo Man though, but this is one great game.
Will 8/10 be my enjoyment as a non-Pokémon gamer or should I steer clear? I played the original Pokémon Snap basically, and some Arceus which was neat.
Thanks! Ah, I was under the misconception you had gotten a Switch 2 when comparing Fallout on Steamdeck. I can see where you’re coming from much better now, appreciate it. I take it Bananza didn’t impress then, I’d wager that was the new 3D Mario kind of - to be fair I dropped it as soon as I beat it.
Personally I loved Miiverse, Nintendoland multiplayer and most quirks of the WiiU. Too bad they didn’t dare to pursue it all in for the successors, since I don’t think WiiU failed because of such quirks, rather they made it stand out despite commercial failure. Anyway, I love my Switch 2 and it has really breathed new life into my Switch 1 games too. As far as I understand it, Switch 2 is way more pick up and play ready than Steamdeck, but I don’t own the latter so I wouldn’t have first hand experience. Happy F4 looks great on S2 though just like Cyberpunk and I need nothing more
Got curious, what reasons do you play Switch for? I could only read reasons why not to play in that post XD Even if you feel the quality of exclusives have fallen in the past 10 years, is it still for those or for the retro classics on Switch online you come back?
Can someone familiar with the Pokémon universe educate me on why you would only be able to transfer in one direction (I see above comment on high levels, but does this mean it may become dual direction later?), and why would you do a transfer to begin with if you then lose your Pokémon in Fire red or Leaf green? I think I’m missing something here 🙈
“ But transferring your 'mons will be a one-way deal, with anything you trade from FireRed / LeafGreen won't be able to come back.”
Won’t be able to come back is what sounds like I’d be losing them in the game.
I appreciate all of you who gave proper context and meaning to the idiom. Saying leakers are the worst of the worst is his prerogative I think, even if it’s obviously an exaggeration. I also second the opinion of including the original version if possible for such articles, and to update it now when clearly informed about the idiomatic expression.
Would have been nice as part of Switch Online So for someone never playing those, any difference more than starting Pokémon and if so which to go with?
This looks nice and while I enjoyed the demo, battling mechs have rarely really done it for me. Will keep it wishlisted, but if I buy it it risks being a game I don’t finish and I hate doing that to myself and a game ;D
I was so excited when first announced, but this immediately turned into apprehension when seeing the dreaded ”special version for Switch” rather than the mainline games. To me that is code word for, ”we couldn’t bring efootball proper to Switch in time, so here’s a quick rehash that plays worse with fewer modes and worse graphics”. Just like when EA made a bespoke version since porting the Frostbite version was claimed impossible.
Hope they prove me wrong
I’m a diehard PES fan (PES 3 and 6 for life ), even competed in the Italian championships back when even though I’m not Italian haha. But I also think efootball is still better than FIFA. I mainly play local vs matches mind and don’t really care for the game modes.
If memory serves me right I actually enjoyed this more than 1080, but could be confusing it with another Playstation snowboarder like SSX on PS2 or something 🤔 Guess I gotta jump in to find out! ;D
@AussieMcBucket How you know the higher ups arent affected? To me it’s a given those are equally impacted or more, so I wouldn’t take it as a given.
Maybe it’s my country (Sweden), but during the 5 cost reduction programs I’ve witnessed or experienced, management layers were heavily affected in 4. In the last one half the top management team were let go (only one got some extra months of salary while all non-manager colleagues got compensated for having to be let go), which meant 50% of leadership were let go while ”only” 10-15% of rest of staff.
Also, managers are often being shuffled around without knowing what their next job description may be (some managers not let go were moved to project management instead of management and vice versa) and also knowing they are ”overhead cost” means you know you are always shortlisted to be axed unless a very strong performer. Of course the uncertainty is similar for non-manager positions too, it’s just I always see referenced how ”managers should burn” and I think it’s an unbalanced perspective overall. (Which is why this post became a bit unbalanced in the other direction haha.)
@Olliemar28 fully agree with your comment! Ubisoft doesn’t really have an option to cost reductions, and no matter bad decisions in the past or not it sure isn’t fun to be an employee or a CEO during such times (I believe people tend to miss that it’s tough on all - including CEO if not a psychopath). Hopefully they find a way to diminish scope to not be understaffed on projects and raise quality of life for those that stay after this.
Bring back the GBC version with Switch 2 upgrades and some added story and I’ll be a happy camper
I am crossing my fingers for this one, but the more over the top stuff that’s added the less these games usually interest me. Feels as if the games try to cover up their spots instead of improving on the core gameplay and mechanics of solid tennis, but maybe this one will have a solid base. Demo please
I liked the demo but felt ”janky” to me, as if some frames were skipping maybe or animations were slightly off? Maybe only me since they don’t mention it on fix list…
This is on my radar since it released, backlog is not helping me and I have a feeling this game would not help my backlog situation if I started playing it
@N8tiveT3ch funny because I can’t tell if a joke or not haha.
To me it’d be the opposite: censor guts and gore if you like, but censoring how we people look like makes no sense to me; it’s as if we should be ashamed of being humans
Hmm, thinking about that though… maybe we should start censoring how we ruin nature - coral reefs, rain forests, air - oh and war etc because that bit I am ashamed of.
Reconsidering, let me restate: skip censoring altogether. Would not be much left to play otherwise Let rating agencies do their thing.
(PS. Isn’t steam deck much easier for a PC developer? If so I’m surprised it’s not higher instead of being tied for second with PS5 and Switch 2.)
@AgentJ exactly my worry too. He basically said straight out it won’t be platform parity even after fixes.
Good they did some statement even though he’s clearly struggling to navigate what he can say and what not Anyway, appreciate it and the ending comment:
“To our fans who were looking forward to playing the uncensored version on Switch, we’re truly sorry. People have a right to be pissed. Lots of lessons learned here. Thanks for sticking with us. More soon.“
Okay, so a bunch of people say this is due to the developer not wanting to bother with making a different version for Japan (which requires censoring). I’m not sure what to believe myself, either way not a positive and makes me reconsider a purchase. Glad for everyone not bothered by this however since supposed to be a cool experience!
As I understood this, Comcept didn’t really operate since mid 2024 (apart from partly living on through the Level 5 Osaka studio), this was just an official closing of the legal entity.
I think the added sensor is called a Magnetometer or such. The gyro itself is 3-axis however which is why I think Markatron called a 9-axis for witchcraft (so there are three 3-axis sensors, gyro, accelerometer and magnet something).
@Qwertyninty this was exactly my thoughts seeing this game! It actually pissed me off a bit about the Pokémon games looking like they do haha. I understood it’s not the same devs, but then why don’t they get similar devs in to help out on the Pokémon games? I’m not even a big Pokémon fan but I got intrigued about some of the games but always got turned off a bit too much by the graphics - and I’m not even usually a graphics snob but my gosh they look simple Let’s see how this runs though
My ideal scenario would be the Nintendo Zelda team doing a collab for an open world Pokémon title to shape them up a bit, but I guess that’s far-fetched.
Oh right! That was why two games suddenly showed up as loaded on my system the other day - completely forgot I had it preordered as well as this bundle 🤣
Please tell me where we can influence this so it goes from a consideration to a ”hell yeah it’s gonna come to S2!”
Not even joking. i enjoyed the first Fable, and I liked the walkthrough of the game the other day even if some animations still looked a bit off in combat etc (and something in the character design or graphics was slightly off to me). It was the first time in many years I felt a pang of platform envy and then this rumour sprang up. Let’s help them solidify it into plans ;D
Equal pace would have been nice, but I can see where they were coming from since whoever is first could be symbolic for better. (While it should be a hard argument for anyone to rationally claim that Mario should be faster than Sonic, this simply reflects who had the bargaining power.)
Hmm, I don’t fully get the perk of playing around on these slumber islands instead of the “actual” island, but I guess it’s like a playground of sorts and also - I’m not the target demographic I think I basically just recently got my first campsite guest to move in haha
