Switch 1 launched about 2 months after its big presentation so I hope the Switch 2 launches about 2 months after the April Direct, therefore end of May / June
@PikminMarioKirby True, but thb the 3DS had also the amazing feature of launching with no notable games
If Nintendo launches the Switch 2 with games like MK9, new 3D Mario, Metroid Prime 4 as launch titles / launch window titles more people would be willing to pay a higher price
@VoidofLight The difference is that in the past the systems were to different or the graphical jump to high were it didn't make sense to do cross gen
GB to GBA: 8 bit on GB to 32 bit on GBA. They basically would have to remake the game at that point
GBA to DS: 2D on GBA to a 2.5D on DS. Also the DS had two screens unlike the GBA so they would have had to redo the menues
DS to 3DS: 2.5D on DS to 3D on 3DS
3DS to Switch: The Switch has only one screen unlike the 3DS so they would need to redo the menus etc
But the Switch 2 is most likely just a more powerful Switch so just increase the resolution, framerate and maybe better graphic settings and they'd have a next gen version
"Given that the battery compartment for the Switch 2 is surprisingly small, this might actually put the Switch 2 at a slight disadvantage against the likes of the Steam Deck from an efficiency standpoint."
Well that would be horrible because the battery life of the Steam Deck is absolutely garbage (in more demanding games)
@Bluelink45 I think DLSS looks great I tried games like CP2077 at 4k with DLSS Balanced/Performance and I could barely tell a difference to native 4k, it looks that good imo
I hope we get to see some of SEs games the Switch missed out on like FF15, FF7 Remake and maybe FF16 and FF7 Rebirth (if technically possible) on Switch 2
@Bolt_Strike "they need a unique hook to stand out" That unique hook is being a Nintendo console with Nintendo games on it
Let's be honest, 95% of all people who own a Switch don't even know what a Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Lenovo Go etc is and would much rather just buy a Switch 2 than any of those
Wasn't there supposed to be news on the Bravely Default series this year? Since there hasn't been any yet (unless I missed it) I think TGA would be a good place for that. Especially since BD2 was announced at TGA
Haven't beaten it yet (only 14h in) but I'm really enjoying it so far. Huge step up from Paper Jam
Also I don't get some complains I've heard like that it's way to hand holdy or performance issues. Maybe later areas are more demanding but so far I didn't have any (noticeable) framedrops
Honestly the biggest disappointment of the year for me
Over the years I've heard so many times how amazing the game appearently is, also people always claimed that it is way better than Color Splash and Origami King (both games I really enjoyed)
But for me it just didn't live up to the expectations I had because of that, I actually ended up dropping the game in chapter 6 because the game simply bored me to death
Kinda weird that we haven't seen anything about Legends Z-A in over 8 months. This must be the longest timespan between reveal and the first proper trailer for any (mainline) Pokemon game. I mean there have been Pokemon games where the timespan between announcement and actual release was shorter than that
I assume they safe the gameplay reveal til after the Switch 2 has been announced cause otherwise I don't see why they wouldn't show anything at all for that long

Re: Rumour: Switch 2 Game Cases Might Take Up More Space On Your Shelf
I honestly don't like that. The cartridges won't be much bigger than the Switchs so why use a bigger box?
Probably just to catch the attention of the customer at retail but for the enduser their is no real benefit to make them bigger
Re: Talking Point: What Do We Actually Want From 'Mario Kart 9'?
I just want Wario Colosseum back
Re: Random: Xbox Gets Its Own Shameful 'Mario Strikers' Knock-Off
Can't be much worse than the actual Mario Strikers on Switch
Re: Poll: So, Were You Accepted For The Nintendo Switch 2 Hands-On Event?
Can't get accepted if I don't apply to begin with
Sadly there is no event close to me
Re: Nacon Expects Switch 2 To Launch In The First Half Of Next Fiscal Year
Switch 1 launched about 2 months after its big presentation so I hope the Switch 2 launches about 2 months after the April Direct, therefore end of May / June
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Donkey Kong Country Returns HD?
As a game? 9
As a 60$ remaster? 6 or 7 I guess
Re: Analyst States That Switch 2's Price Won't "Really Matter" For Early Adopters
@PikminMarioKirby True, but thb the 3DS had also the amazing feature of launching with no notable games

Re: Poll: So, What Did You Think Of The Switch 2 Reveal?
Since the design of the console etc already has been leaked it was just meh. At least they showed a new Mario Kart
The reveal trailer for the Switch 1 was way better
Re: Switch 2 Will Be Backwards Compatible With Physical And Digital Games, With Some Exceptions
I want Xenoblade Chronicles 2 at a good resolution (720p or even 1080p) in handheld mode
Re: New Mario Kart 9 Teased For Switch 2
Is it just me or does that shot where they zoom the camera out give off open world wipes?
Re: Nintendo Will Hold A Switch 2 Direct Presentation In April
This will be painful 2.5 months
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Trailer Gives First Official Look At The New Console
Oh man, and I'm not home for another 2 hours
Anyway, Nintendo is the only one who'd shadow drop the reveal of their next gen system
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (Switch) - Aping A Retro Classic
Donkey Kong Country Returns For The Third Time
Re: Random: No, That's Not Wii Sports, That's Live Tennis On YouTube
Obviously that's not Wii Sports
Wii Sports looks better
Re: Random: Geez, PS5 Game 'Anime Life Sim' Sure Looks Familiar
I haven't played much Animal Crossing so if you'd tell me that this is Animal Crossing I'd 100% believe it
Re: Rumour: 'Switch 2' Will Reportedly Be Officially Revealed This Thursday
@chapuH I assume it's like the Switch reveal trailer where they did show off the console but also teased games like Super Mario Odyssey and MK8DX
Re: Round Up: 'Switch 2' Renders Suggest A Sleek, Classy Successor
@glennthefrog Yeah, if it is the actual logo they truly learned from the Wii U situation
Re: Rumour: Insider Claims That Halo: Master Chief Collection Will Come To 'Switch 2'
Never played Halo but would give it a try if it actually comes to Switch 2
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Trailer Sheds Light On Its Story
One of the best open world games imo
And the new area they teased at the end look pretty cool

Re: Random: Let's Be Thankful The 'Switch 2' Won't Be As Big As Acer's Ridiculous New Handheld
To small for me. I want a handheld that is bigger than my 55 inch TV
Re: Digital Foundry Weighs In On 'Switch 2' Motherboard - Just How Powerful Is It?

Re: Original Minecraft Creator Has "Basically Announced" A Spiritual Successor
We got Minecraft 2 before GTA 6
Re: New Patent Seemingly Confirms Nvidia 4K AI Upscaling For Switch 2
@Bluelink45 I think DLSS looks great

DLSS would be a godsend for the Switch 2

Re: Random: Mario Galaxy Returns Next Year In "The Biggest Super Mario Odyssey Mod Yet"
Nintendo: "No, I don't think it will"
Re: Your 'Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2024' Stats Are Available Now
Only 145h this year which is less than TotK alone last year, with the top one being M&L: Brothership with 45h
But not surprising tbh, not that many releases that interested me this year + some of them I played on Steam Deck instead
I'm sure next year it will be a lot more though when the Switch 2, XCX:DE, MP4 and Legends Z-A + unannounced Switch 2 games release
Re: Random: Streamer Beats Pokémon's Most Difficult Challenge After 3,978 Attempts
@DarkTron Exactly my first thought. I read the title and thought "Haven't others already beaten it before?"
Re: Surprise Leak Reveals Lenovo Is Releasing Another Switch-Like Gaming Handheld
@Bolt_Strike "they need a unique hook to stand out"
That unique hook is being a Nintendo console with Nintendo games on it

Re: Reaction: The Game Awards Left Us With One Big Question: Will Any Of This Run On Switch 2?
I mean as long as it runs on the Series S it might also run on the Switch 2
Re: Poll: It's Almost Time For The Game Awards, But Are You Expecting Much Switch News?
Wasn't there supposed to be news on the Bravely Default series this year? Since there hasn't been any yet (unless I missed it) I think TGA would be a good place for that. Especially since BD2 was announced at TGA
Re: Random: Metroid Prime 3 Dev Left Retro Studios After "Unhealthy Relationship" With Nintendo Micromanagement
I get that it can be annoying if someone requests changes often but it's their IP after all so it's weird to say that they should "go away"
Re: Nintendo Considered Giving Up On 'Mario & Luigi' Before Approaching Aquire
I hope Nintendo isn't considering giving up on M&L again if Sony actually aquires the studio
I really enjoyed Brothership. It may not be the best M&L but it is a very solid entry, would put it on a same level as Dream Team
Re: Feature: 9 Things Nintendo Could Add To Switch 2 So It's Not 'Just Another Switch'
I'd honestly be perfectly fine with just a more powerful Switch
Also I really disliked the touchpad on the back of the Vita
Re: Deals: Huge Micro SD Card Discounts Appear In Early Black Friday Sales
@JohnnyMind On amazon.de the 1.5tb micro sd is 96€
Don't know if there are shipping costs to italy though
Re: New Switch Emulator Devs Are Jumping Through Hoops To Avoid A Nintendo Takedown
@Lofoten Because "Nintendo bad". I've seen people use that as their excuse so many times
Re: Mario & Luigi's Future In Doubt As A Potential Sony Acquisition Emerges
@DarkFighter You should play more games then
Re: Japanese Charts: Mario & Luigi Sail Past The Competition
That's honestly very disappointing sales numbers for Mario & Luigi: Brothership
I hope it at least sells well in the rest of the world cause I don't want ot go another 9 years without a new entry
Re: The First Review For Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Is In
@the_beaver Well, it is the same publication that gave Sonic Mania a 32/40 while giving Sonic Forces a 35/40 after all
Re: Pokémon Unite Developer Releasing New Monster Hunter Game For Mobile Devices
I don't get how people are able to play 3D open world games with action combat like Genshin, Wuthering Waves or this on a smartphone.
I couldn't imagine playing such a game with a touchscreen instead of a controller
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Mario & Luigi: Brothership?
Haven't beaten it yet (only 14h in) but I'm really enjoying it so far. Huge step up from Paper Jam

Re: Nintendo Suing Streamer For Allegedly Broadcasting "Pirated" Switch Games Ahead Of Official Release
There are stupid people and then there's this guy
What did he expect to happen from a company who's known to go harshly against emulators & pirated games?
Re: Mario & Luigi Fans Aren't Happy About Brothership's Battle Button Tweaks
Threw me off at first as well but I got used to it pretty quickly so no big deal
Re: Reaction: Rest Easy, Folks, Your Switch Backlog Ain't Going Anywhere
I hope the games also run better as well, even without an update for the game that takes advantage of the more powerful hardware
Constant 30fps in games like Pokemon SV or TotK or constant 720p in XC2 (which runs somewhere between 540p-720p) would be nice
Updates that allow those game to run at higher res and framerate would be more than welcome though
Re: Nintendo Reports Rapid Growth For Metroid, Xenoblade Chronicles, And More
The more people realize that Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the best series out there the better
Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door On Switch Has Already Outsold The GameCube Original
Honestly the biggest disappointment of the year for me

But for me it just didn't live up to the expectations I had because of that, I actually ended up dropping the game in chapter 6 because the game simply bored me to death
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch Games
@contractcooker Everything made by GameFreak is a mainline Pokemon imo
Especially since it will most likely include new Pokemon and forms like Legends Arceus
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch Games

Re: Japanese Charts: Mario Party Jamboree Holds Off A Bunch Of New Releases
Do japanese people not like Sonic? Those are horrible numbers
@JR150 Didn't it sell 1mio copies within it's first day? I'd say that very good, just not in the japanese market
Re: Nintendo Music - Every Nintendo System, Series And Game Included
