I'm glad it releases on other plattforms as well. Already play the original on Switch and really liked it but it really could benefit from a better resolution + framerate

I love JRPGs but I could never get into Ys8 despite only hearing good things about it

Might give the series another try though if this reviews well enough

Even though I expect the Switch 2 to launch this year Nintendo might actually be able to pull that off (especially since the won't immediatelly stop selling Switches as soon as the Switch 2 launches)

I can live with spoilers like "Mario defeats Bowser and saves Peach" but generally I don't want to get spoiled, especially not for story heavy games. I don't even want to know if a game has a happy ending or not

I don't like CGI trailers either (at least not for the first trailer)

It's especially weird when a brand new IP gets announced via a CGI trailer, I mean what should we take away from that?

Leafgreen was my second Pokemon game (after Ruby) and therefore it has a special place in my heart

My favorite part about those games always have been the Sevii Islands, such a shame that we probably never will see them again since Let's Go didn't bring them back

I really should shiny hunt Celebi in Crystal and transfer it over while it's still possible

I always see people claim that dumping your own games is legal but I'm not 100% sure if that's true. I mean owning one copy of something generally doesn't make you eligible to own two copies.

But as you said, as long as you don't share that copy probably no one will know/care

Is it though? I just looked at the back of Omega Ruby and it said that the game is copy prodected and that using modified hardware can lead to the game/system becoming unusable or something along those lines (my game is in german so I don't know what it says in english)

Sure, no one will care as long as you don't share the dump but a copy is a copy

After the Wii U desaster they should just name it Switch 2 cause that way even my 90 year old grandma who has no clue what a "Nintendo Switch" is would understand that it's a sucessor

I really don't hope so. I love the Switch but that thing is old.
Games like XC3 or TotK really push the Switch to it's limit and obviously could run much better on better hardware which those games really deserve

I still don't get why the Yakuza director/producer/whatever thinks that Yakuza doesn't fit on Nintendo consoles. Sure the main story of those game may be serious but everything else about those games is absolutely stupid (in a good way)
Imo those games absolutely fit on Nintendo consoles

Most of those seem to be games with realistic graphics. While they may be impressive on a technical level I definitely prefer games with more unique, creative artstyles over realism

Games like BotW, Rayman Legends, Ori, Persona 5, Paper Mario TOK just to name a few

Nice to see Arven, Nemona and Penny back after being pushed aside during the DLCs
Hope we also get to see Carmine and Keiran

Now i got through, 171h in TotK, 131h in MK8DX and 99h in Octopath Traverler 2
On my Switch it says I played TotK for 140h and Octopath Traveler 2 for 75h. Interesting

Honestly, speculating if a game that hasn't released yet would be able to run on a console that hasn't even been announced yet is kinda weird

Tbh I think the dungeons in TotK still were really short in comparision to older 3D Zeldas
The only dungeon that really felt like a proper dungeon was the Fire Temple imo

But if I had to guess I'd say they add some feature which allows us to catch (almost) all past legendaries cause that's what they always do like Dynamax Adventure in SwSh Crown Tundra, Ultra Worm Holes in USUM etc

I mean we did eventually get a Switch port but at that point I already had played the original P5 and P5R so I didn't really care once the Switch port released

I really disagree with Color Splash being worse than Paper Jam
And I disagree even more with Origami King being the forth worst Mario RPG, it's actually one of my favorite Switch games. Pretty sure many people only gave it a bad user score because "it'S NOT paper mArio 2"

It's actually my favorite temple in the game
Only played Oot3D though which made the temple less annoying (Iron Boots on the touchscreen) + some doors are color coded

I'd give it a 7, had much fun playing, but there are some things that didn't age well imo

Pros:

• Looks good (especially the cinematics)
• Humor is great like in every Mario RPG (Booster is amazing)
• Great music
• I like the battle system

Cons:

• Plattforming section are aweful because of the isometric view
• The world doesn't really feel connected, it just felt like I was running from room to room. Superstar Saga (my first Mario RPG) did a way better job at making the world feel connected/alive
• Bit cryptic at parts

In case you didn't feel old enough today, OoT3D is now almost as old (12 years) as the original OoT was when OoT3D released (13 years)
