1080p in handheld mode is really surprising (even if it's through DLSS)
But I guess they are upscaling from a way lower resolution compared to docked cause otherwise I don't see why it would run at 1080p both docked and in handheld mode considering that docked has more performance headroom
@CheapCheepBeach Good luck trying to fit the specs of the Series S into the form factor of the Switch 2
It's always so confusing to read stuff like "The Switch 2 costs more than the PS5 Digital while being far weaker" while completely ignoring that the Switch 2 probably fits like 20x into the PS5
Kinda funny, I applied for both the Switch 2 + MKWorld bundle and the regular Switch 2 because I was hoping to get at least one of them
Got an invitation to preorder the Switch 2 + MKWorld bundle on friday and yesterday they sent me an email that I did not get an invitation for the regular Switch 2 and I was like: "Oh no! Anyway"
@Rykdrew Sorry but this is not true, I own an Ally X myself and there is no way the game runs at 900p 90fps unless you maybe run it at Low settings, FSR (Ultra) Performance with frame gen on
And you especially don't get 3:20h out of it, because with the 80w battery of the Ally the total power draw to achieve that would be ~24w and that would mean the Z1E chip only gets about 15w (since screen, fans etc also need some power) and there is no way to get 900p 90fps on 15w
@Duboiss Why would they get sued? Most publishers don't differentiate between the console versions in the name of their game
For example the PS4, PS5 and Steam version "God of War: Ragnarök" are all called the same. They didn't name the PS5 version "God of War: Ragnarök - PS5 Edition"
Don't really get why they would add "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" to Metroid Prime 4 (and probably Legends ZA)
I get that for already existing games like TotK but MP4 most likely launches the very same day for Switch 2 as it does for Switch. Just leave that "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" away in that case
The Switch version of Breath of the Wild wasn't called "Breath of the Wild - Switch Edition" after all
Releasing the game now and then a 60fps a few months later when the Switch 2 releases would be kinda annoying
I mean sure, it would be very nice but if Nintendo actually releases a 60fps patch I'd have prefered it if they just released the game a few months later
Speaking of the flying theme: As much as I like it I really hope they include an option to turn it off. Kinda annoying that it would start each time you fly (even if it's only for a little bit) and therefore cuts of the overworld theme
Looks actually alright imo (for a Pokemon game at least) graphically and also seems to run fine. Wonder what the gameplay loop/exploration will look like when the entire game takes place inside a city
Also two Gen 2 starters is an interesting decision. Wonder why they didn't go with a Gen 4/7/8 starter instead
How's the resolution in handheld mode (if you even got to try it out)? But running at 1080p in docked mode makes me confident that it may look decent in handheld mode
Cause the resolution in handheld mode is my biggest problem with the other XC games on Switch
I often see people recommending the N64 version to people who have never played MM before because they don't like some changes in MM3D.
But the thing is that a person who never played MM would not know what the changes are or notice them to begin with so why would they care? But they most certainly would notice the better graphics, framerate etc of MM3D
Kinda wild that they would announce Legends Z-A and than not show anything for a whole year.
Especially since usually the time between announcement and the actual release for a Pokemon game is shorter than the time between the announcment and the first proper trailer for Z-A.

Re: Mario Kart World's Costumes Unlock Via Its New "Dash Food" Cuisine
If they don't add Lederhosn Luigi with his sausage cart I'll be disappointed
Re: Video: 20+ Things We Still Don't Know About Switch 2
We already know that the Switch 1 Pro controller works on Switch 2 games but do we know if the Switch 2 Pro controller works on Switch 1 games?
Would be annoying if not
Re: Gallery: Here's Switch 2 Compared To (Almost) Every Other Handheld
I like how the Switch 2 appears to be slightly smaller than the Steam Deck despite the screen being bigger
I like the Steam Deck but it always was a bit to chunky for me

Re: Don't Worry, Duskbloods Will Be "Satisfying" For People Who Dislike PvP, Says Hidetaka Miyazaki
They managed to get me hyped for their newest game only for me to find out that it has PVP/multiplayer focus twice within less than half a year
Re: Switch 2's Jump From OLED To LCD Wasn't A Decision Nintendo Took Lightly
Not being OLED is a shame but having 120fps, HDR and VRR (which they didn't mention in the Direct for some reason) is a nice trade off
Re: Sale Predictions Remain Unchanged Despite Switch 2 Price Concerns
No surprise that it wouldn't effect early adoption since it's the hardcore fans who get it day one
What's more interesting is how well it does in the long run

We finally get a performance patch for Pokemon SV and it only costs 470€
(but very nice though)
Re: Check Out Donkey Kong Bananza's Beautiful Switch 2 Box Art
I wonder if this game is made by the 3D Mario team
Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade Is Making The Leap To Switch 2
Have already played through this game mutliple times but I'll gladly play through it again on Switch 2
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Priced At $449.99 For The Base Console
I just wish I could preorder now to get it over with
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Will Be A Cross-Gen Title For Switch 2
This game running 4k60fps is insane (even if it's most likely upscaled 4k)
Re: GameCube Games Confirmed For Nintendo Switch Online On Switch 2
Finally I can play The Wind Waker at a higher resolution than the original. Oh wait
But very excited to see Gamecube games back
Re: Fromsoftware's The Duskbloods Looks Like Bloodborne 2, Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026
A brand new From Software game exclusive for Switch 2 was not on my bingo card
Re: 'Mario Kart World' Looks Absolutely Awesome In Debut Switch 2 Trailer
Dynamic day and weather and open world in a game that looks as good as MK8DX (if not better) is amazing
Re: The Duration Of Tomorrow's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct Has Been Confirmed
About the same length as the Switch presentation back in 2017. Very excting
Re: Round Up: It's April Fools' Day, Here Are The Best Gaming Gags We've Seen (2025)
"Dave The Diver: Remastered"
If Dave The Diver were made by Sony
Re: Rumour: FCC Filing Hints At Switch 2 Pro Controller, And It May Come With One Big Upgrade
Having a headphone jack is something I really like about PS controllers
Still hope that the current Pro controller works with Switch 2 games as well though
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct For March 2025?
For a Direct that aired 6 days before the huge Switch 2 Direct I'd say it was alright
Re: A New Tomodachi Life Game Is Coming To Switch Next Year
@OctolingKing13 "the voice acting is terrifying" that's part of the charm of the game
Re: A New Tomodachi Life Game Is Coming To Switch Next Year
Can't belive we actually finally get a new Tomodachi Life. 9 years after release of the Switch nonetheless
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Want To See?
I honestly only want to see missing ports/remasters like TWWHD+TPHD, MP2&3 Remastered, Mario Galaxy 2
New stuff I'd much rather want to see on Switch 2
Re: Nintendo Direct Confirmed For Tomorrow, 27th March 2025
Nintendo is a weird company
Re: Random: Xenoblade Chronicles X On Switch Has A New 'Sex' Warning, But Why?
Xenoblade Chronicles (Se)X

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (Switch) - An Underrated Gem Transforms Into The Series' Best
I'm just happy that the game looks great in handheld mode
That's one of the biggest reasons why I wanted a port in the first place despite owning the Wii U version
Re: Rumour: Nintendo May Have Already Shipped A Boatload Of Switch 2 Units To North America
I wish they'd ship one to me
Re: Poll: What's The Best Xenoblade Game? Rate Your Favourite For Our Upcoming Ranking
All easily 10/10 including X.
Re: Meet The Stellar Cast Of Trails In The Sky 1st Chapter
Playing a sample voice sound file while announcing the voice actors would have been a great idea
Re: Was That Pokémon Legends: Z-A Footage Running On Switch 2? Digital Foundry Weighs In
Nah, I looks better than SV but not nearly good enough for Switch 2
Re: Anniversary: Nintendo Switch Launched On This Day Eight Years Ago
Thx, I didn't feel old enough already today
Re: Poll: Which Starter Pokémon Will You Choose In Legends: Z-A?
Never used Chikorita since its type matchup in Johto is aweful so I might pick it here
Also there is a very likely chance that we'll get Mega-Meganium lol

Re: Review: Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection (Switch) - A Comprehensive Round-Up With A Few Real Winners
Looking forward to replaying Sacred Cards.
Kinda a shame that WC2006 isnt included since I played that one a lot but I get that they want to focus on the original era, not the GX era
Re: Poll: Which Pokémon Game Really Deserves A Remake Next?
After BDSP I don't want remakes anymore. I have been waiting for DP remakes since ORAS but BDSP felt like a punch in the face
Re: Hands On: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition - A Decade On, Mira's Still Got It

Re: Talking Point: Why An LCD Screen Isn't The End Of The World For Switch 2
The LCD screen on e.g. the ROG Ally is so good that the difference in quality between it and an OLED screen is pretty minor
But if it as an LCD screen like the original Steam Deck, that wouldn't be great
@micke826 I agree, I play a lot outside during the summer and a LCD screen definitely is better for that than an OLED screen
Re: Nope, Monster Hunter Wilds Producer Still Won't Spill The Beans On A Switch 2 Port
@PikminMarioKirby I think a brand new Monster Hunter game will do good enough on it's own, without being an early Switch 2 game
Re: Review: The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II (Switch) - Does The Job, But Not A Series High
Currently playing the first game, definitely will play this game sometime in the future
Also I don't get how some developers don't seem to understand that small text on a handheld may not be a good idea
Re: Nintendo Confirms Timings For The Switch 2 Direct In April
Finally a good time for europeans, unlike the Switch 1 presentation that was at 4am lol
Re: Civilization VII Devs "Love" What Nintendo Is Doing With Switch 2 Joy-Con
@HolyGeez03 I think a game like Mario Maker in docked mode would definitely be better with a mouse like device than a pointer
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch Games
Kinda wild that they would announce Legends Z-A and than not show anything for a whole year.
