Somehow never played these games; excited to try it out for the first time this Halloween! 👻

I played MOST of the amazing SNES RPGs growing up, with this being the key one that I missed… HD-2D, when?!

Still rockin’ Warios Woods on NSO with my gal. One of the best ‘falling block’ puzzle games ever made!

Now that this game is out, I hope they work on a Switch 2 patch for Arceus.

The premise of Mario & Wario is so totally ridiculous; can’t wait to try it!

Hard pass at 30fps, otherwise I’d be all over that physical edition. A bit shocked they couldn’t get it running at a higher frame rate.

Loved the demo, but totally forgot this was coming out so soon. I think I’ll be alright..

Demo was very short, and also incredibly easy. The art style is interesting, but I didn’t really enjoy the game.

I’ve really enjoyed Mario Kart World overall, but the open world did not deliver for me, and I am ready for more content already. Sonic Racing Game™️ does not interest me.

The quality of those videos is pretty impressive, which is… not good for actual artists and people who are employed in the industry. And those were just cartoons, affecting the entertainment industry. When generative AI can make fully realistic video, indiscernible from reality—it’s pretty close this already, right?—we are done. Heading towards a very dark future here…

The in-game darkness is going to be an issue playing in handheld, for sure. That’s really where that OLED screen will be sorely missed. Glad to hear the games playing well though!

Indeed, the HD rumble is fantastic, as is everything about this game. So many unbelievable games this year, but Silksong is slowly inching its way to being my Game of the Year 2025!

@8thDoctor This is what I’ve been wondering… It would benefit the performance of the game and also the preserve a true physical copy for the customer. Just seems to further highlight that it’s all about making more profit… 🫤

@ElkinFencer10 Definitely download that demo and try it out. Once you hit the open world—and get past the terrible corridor opener—you can get a good feel for how it plays.

@ElkinFencer10 So I only played the demo, but the game just performs poorly overall. Yes it’s 30fps, which isn’t a dealbreaker, but it doesn’t feel locked. And the lower frame rate really exacerbates the somewhat clunky controls. Hard to put into words, but it just feels off, really sluggish and not fun to play. Doesn’t look great either… I downloaded the same demo on PS5 and had a lot more fun with it. Maybe try downloading the demo in your S2 before you open the game, and see how it feels to you. We all have different tolerances for game performance, so you might have a better time than me!

It’s a shame the Switch 2 version is so inferior, performance-wise. There’s a good game in here, but the poor performance makes it pretty unplayable for me. Seems unlikely that will change, unfortunately..

Really a shame that War of the Lions was left out. I’ve never played it, and given that I love this game so much, it would have made this an instant purchase. Hope this version brings a lot of new players irregardless, as this truly is one of the best (if not THE best) tactical RPG’s of all time.

Awesome that it’s coming to Switch 2, for sure, especially for those with only a Nintendo console. For the rest of us nerds with a PS5 (Pro) or, :::cough:::… xbox… it’s a no-brainer to buy this game on one of those systems for the best possible experience. We’ll see how it performs on Switch 2…

Difficulty is just right. I’m at the Last Judge (having found the other entrance to the Citadel), and it’s a tough but fair fight (tonight’s the night I take you down). Maybe I’ll feel differently later, but I doubt it. The game is obviously meant to be challenging, like a FromSoftware joint; half Metroid, half Dark Souls. If it’s too hard, that’s okay, there are other games out there to enjoy.

I initially thought that this was a free DLC, and was really surprised to see that you had to pay $20 for it. I will absolutely be skipping this until it’s on a deep, DEEP sale.

I’d get this day one for $40. Still have my Wii copies, so not a huge priority, especially at that price point.

I’ve preordered the two Samus amiibos from Beyond because they look BIG and pretty premium, and seem to be worth the cash (at least to me). If they show up and are not, I’ll just return ‘em!

I thought this was free DLC, then was taken to the eShop… oof definitely not paying $20 for this. Still finishing the game anyways. Maybe next year when it’s half off.

At this point I’d be happy with a delay into early 2026. There are entirely too many amazing games to play coming out in the next couple months, plus games I haven’t finished (or opened…). I am BEYOND excited for a new Metroid Prime, and I’m sure I’ll end up dropping everything to play it, but maaaaaaaan…

@SirLink Yep those deep OLED blacks are where the Switch 2 screen is definitely left wanting. Having an OLED TV to play horror games was an enormous level up in atmosphere (and terror)! Hopefully we get an OLED model upgrade down the road.

This video is pretty impressive, per the Switch 2. That Steamdeck was having a seriously hard time, but that speeder on Switch 2 was rockin’ smooth!

Was going to wait on Silksong until the physical next year, but found out my physical preorders of both Cronos (PS5) and Hell is Us Deluxe are not releasing at the same time as the digital releases, so… Laying in bed with a cold playing Silksong on my Switch 2 today! That extremely affordable price made it impossible to resist. It’s been ages since I played Hollow Knight, so it’s been really nice to get back into that world this weekend. Silksong is wonderful!

Nice they’re fixing it, but should have never been an issue. It was super obvious something was up the moment I started the demo on Switch 2 (and then OLED). Downloaded the demo on PS5 and, “that’s what the game is supposed to look like!”

When I tried the demo, it seemed unoptimized for both Switch and Switch 2. When I downloaded it on my OLED, I got the same jagged graphics, unfortunately. Sounds like maybe they have fixed that?

Polish it up! Flawless cartridge please! I can wait.

Still haven’t played the expansion, so if they can put the actual game on the cart, I’ll probably buy it. But… yeah…

Excellent article, written by someone who clearly loves video games and those that develop them. Can’t wait to play Silksong. On my own time. We’re all very lucky to be able to enjoy this beautiful, challenging, artistic hobby.

Air Riders just looks awesome. I am one of the folks that is enjoying Mario Kart World, but Riders looks to be on another level, gameplay-wise. Love that the controls are so simple, yet the game seems complex with a high skill ceiling. I hope to see (a lot) more tracks and a few more modes before release. We’ll see! Very excited for this one!
