Re: Poll: So, Now The Dust Has Settled, How Did You Find Myles MacKenzie?

ear_wig

I’m not super far in, but not at all bothered by Myles so far. The hints out in the desert are annoying though… Also like others have said, it’s weird that Samus doesn’t talk. Obviously they’re doing a “Link” thing, but it feels sort of odd. They could have had her speak without it turning into Other M. The way they handled the Traveler in Cronos: The New Dawn is a fantastic example of great casting and minimal dialogue having a big impact.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Difficulty Settings Revealed By Nintendo

@metaphysician Respectfully disagree over here. First off, people will find ANY reason to lambast games these days, whether it’s for being too hard or too easy. Second, if I select hard and it’s too hard, I just turn the difficulty down. Simple as that. Especially if you can change it once you’ve started the game. So I still maintain that it’s ridiculous to lock hard modes behind full-game completion. Difficulty modes exist to add choice and improve player experience, i.e., accessibility. So then why lock said accessibility option behind completing the full game?

@Truegamer79 The original Metroid was such a groundbreaking game, with that huge interconnected world that you could explore in whatever way you wanted. The game was definitely tough, especially with no map. Would a map have helped? Absolutely! But it reinforced the ‘stranded on an alien world’ vibe, I would argue, and we could just make our own maps using graph paper!
Love Metroid to pieces!

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Kirby Air Riders?

10/10 masterpiece. Can’t stop playing. I just started the ‘Road Trip’ campaign mode last night, and it’s like a whole other game, with leveling up and branching paths, items, different challenges, bosses, and a hard difficulty. On top of the other three modes, which are all different and fantastic… It’s nuts. There is so much content in this game, and so much to unlock. And the skill ceiling is so high, with so much room for improvement. Playing online is really fun too, with consistently excellent performance. Don’t even get me started on the vehicle customization. This game just blows me away, pure magic distilled into video game form. Going to have a hard time putting this down for Metroid Prime 4 next month… Vi-O-la better have accessories!!

Re: UK Charts: Kirby Air Riders Narrowly Misses Out On A Top Ten Spot

Madness!!! Air Riders is BRILLIANT and I won’t hear otherwise!!!

Seriously though, it is utterly fantastic and I hope more people take a chance and jump in. The gameplay is easy to learn but TOUGH to master, the online works beautifully, it has so many modes of play, and it’s stuffed with unlockables. And the vehicle customization! This game is just pure magic.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Re: Review: Kirby Air Riders (Switch 2) - Incredibly Chaotic, But Satisfyingly Deep & Rewarding Racing

Pre-ordered and ready to go!

PS—Is a ‘learning curve’ really a con? This has been a part of video games since Space Invaders, Pac Man, etc. Dog forbid that one has to practice to get better at the game… Meh…Strange comment…
For me, challenge and learning curves just pull me deeper into the game, especially when it comes to racing / battling games like this. Sorry guy, but it’s a pro!

Re: Zelda: A Link To The Past And Chrono Trigger Are "Ripe For Remakes", Says Analytics Firm

Ocarina of Time Remaster would be awesome, I’d buy that in a heartbeat. Link to the Past is PERFECTION and should be left alone.

Chrono Trigger would look beautiful in the HD-2D treatment. The gameplay is pretty simplistic by today’s standards, though, and I think would benefit from some modernization. I’d love to see it with a FF7Remake-style action/turn-based hybrid combat system.

Re: Review: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment (Switch 2) - A Stunning Slice Of Musou, Worthy Of The Zelda Canon

Hey @PJOReilly, thanks for the great review free of spoilers. Probably a stupid question, but would you recommend finishing Tears of the Kingdom before playing this? I’m like halfway-ish (took a break for Bananza). Does Inprisonment give anything major away in Tears or require finishing Tears to fully understand, or is it just complimentary and helps to flesh out the backstory? Thanks!
