Monster Hunter Wilds will be the game that will tell me I already need to buy a Switch 2... unless Capcom decides not to release it there, which would be strange if they are indeed depending on it to reach their earn goals.
The Game Boy startup sound will always be my favorite, a yellow Game Boy Color being my very first handheld (because I couldn't find the Pikachu-themed one back then).
However, I hope that every game startup on the Switch 2 has the iconic Switch click. It's already so attached to the Switch in my mind that it feels strange when I watch a Switch game trailer that doesn't start with it.
My Japanese eShop account only exists for my Taiko no Tatsujin! Rhythm Festival Music Pass. I got an Asian copy to go with my TaTaCon and that apparently only accepts the Japanese Music Pass despite being in English. The account being linked to a Philippine e-debit card worries me.
This is great news, especially for non-Nintendo system players.
Great article too. As a (totally unwanted) bonus, the comments section included political activism and a totally inaccurate fascism lesson. It reminded me as a teacher of the price people pay for being uneducated.
The embrace of digital-only sales has only signaled to game developers that releasing unfinished games is fine with us, since it can be patched anyway, and that we're okay not actually owning a copy of a game, just renting it at full price with the ever-present possibility of the digital store closing so you can purchase a re-release in the next one.
Until the above problems are resolved, digital-only won't be fully feasible.
In other words, a product already out in the market for a long time and already familiar to the general public will sell better than a new product that will not be as familiar to people until some more marketing.
What other wise words shall we be blessed with next?
It'll be used to power the Switch 2's Bitcoin mining function.
Seriously though, as a person who charges his Switch almost exclusively on the dock, this shouldn't be an issue, as I assume the charger will be bundled with the new dock.
Monster Hunter Rise has hooked me once again, after dropping at the 200+ hour mark to play other games, all thanks to the Sunbreak DLC. Another factor is my kids' changing game preferences. Unlike before, they now have that adventurous streak that lets them enjoy watching me hunt down huge monstrosities (how much my kids enjoy watching while I play is a huge factor on which games I spend time on).
On those times when I don't have the Switch with me, I have Balatro on my phone. Excellent way to pass the time. All my other mobile games lie ignored due to it.
This is why what I consider to be the best games in any system I buy has to be bought physical. At the very least, I can resell them later on and get some (if not more) of my money back. Can't do that with a digital copy.
Still in the early stages of Darkest Dungeon II, trying to finish a Resentment run. I'm actually having fun despite the failures, so I guess I'm doing DD2 right.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak DLC is on a deep sale right now, so I'm contemplating getting back into the game.
Meanwhile, the kids are still playing their usuals: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
This movie franchise is probably the last one I would expect myself to enjoy, but it ended up surprisingly good. Will have to find time to watch this next one.
As a high school teacher observing high schoolers every day, I can agree with that reason. The maturity difference between the sexes can sometimes be like night and day.
I seriously doubt it's just the jumbo jugs that did it in, considering more suggestive fare in the eShop (looking at you, Hentai series).
Ratings do seem to take in the whole context of the game though. Persona 3 basically has high schoolers shooting their brains out with a gun (in a way) as part of the story, but that's on the eShop.

They should be the size of 90's PC game boxes just for the heck of it.

Came for the Suikoden sample, stayed for the unexpected political complaints.
