Re: Opinion: Forget Themes, I Want A Switch 2 Start-Up Jingle

The Game Boy startup sound will always be my favorite, a yellow Game Boy Color being my very first handheld (because I couldn't find the Pikachu-themed one back then).

However, I hope that every game startup on the Switch 2 has the iconic Switch click. It's already so attached to the Switch in my mind that it feels strange when I watch a Switch game trailer that doesn't start with it.

The embrace of digital-only sales has only signaled to game developers that releasing unfinished games is fine with us, since it can be patched anyway, and that we're okay not actually owning a copy of a game, just renting it at full price with the ever-present possibility of the digital store closing so you can purchase a re-release in the next one.

Until the above problems are resolved, digital-only won't be fully feasible.

Monster Hunter Rise has hooked me once again, after dropping at the 200+ hour mark to play other games, all thanks to the Sunbreak DLC. Another factor is my kids' changing game preferences. Unlike before, they now have that adventurous streak that lets them enjoy watching me hunt down huge monstrosities (how much my kids enjoy watching while I play is a huge factor on which games I spend time on).

On those times when I don't have the Switch with me, I have Balatro on my phone. Excellent way to pass the time. All my other mobile games lie ignored due to it.

Still in the early stages of Darkest Dungeon II, trying to finish a Resentment run. I'm actually having fun despite the failures, so I guess I'm doing DD2 right.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak DLC is on a deep sale right now, so I'm contemplating getting back into the game.

Meanwhile, the kids are still playing their usuals: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

That is one fugly-looking game. Restrict away.

I seriously doubt it's just the jumbo jugs that did it in, considering more suggestive fare in the eShop (looking at you, Hentai series).

Ratings do seem to take in the whole context of the game though. Persona 3 basically has high schoolers shooting their brains out with a gun (in a way) as part of the story, but that's on the eShop.
