Re: After Almost 30 Years, Japan Finally Has A New Best-Selling Pokémon Game

@LavenderShroud I agree. My dream Pokemon game has always been 2D, includes all monsters from all generations, and with animations in the same vein as Black/White, but made even better with animations akin to the Super Robot Wars game series and animating even things like status effects (e.g. a Pokemon actually lying down when asleep).

It'll probably never happen, but it's free to dream.

@Gryffin Since Sword/Shield, the games have dropped the ability to have all monsters from all generations in one game. This used to be the games' main draw for me and what kept me playing through the generations despite the series' shortcomings.

I understand the reasons why they've dropped this feature, but that doesn't mean I have to like it nor accept it, so off the wagon I go.

Having been on board the wagon since the first generation, I guess fans have different standards now. They lost me when I no longer couldn't "Catch 'em All." I looked forward to completing the National Dex for every generation (and successfully did), until that ended with Sword/Shield.

Still wishing for a return of the "Catch 'em All" mechanic. It doesn't have to be in another 3D game. I'll be happy with HD-2D, or even just well-animated 2D like with Black/White and their sequels.

Re: Mario & Luigi's Future In Doubt As A Potential Sony Acquisition Emerges

I believe it will reach a point where actions like this would already be considered monopolizing and companies can file legal action.

As for the companies being acquired, they would need to consider if being boxed in to just one system is to their best interest. Let's be honest, Sony isn't exactly the biggest in the gaming industry right now, no matter how loudly the purists howl.

Re: Saudi Arabia's PIF Further Reduces Its Stake In Nintendo

For those concerned about this, you may want to consider a certain communist country that uses sweatshops to manufacture the vital components of your gaming devices. What Saudi is doing is peanuts compared to that.

We live in a world now that almost always requires breaking several of the proverbial eggs for our gaming omelette.

Re: Palworld Developer Responds To Nintendo Lawsuit

Pretty sure Nintendo's lawyers already had specific patents in mind when they filed the lawsuit. These aren't just some small-time lawyers we're talking about here.

Looking at it from both sides, Palworld really needs to step away from the Pokemon connections and be its own thing for them to get out of this. Pokemon, on the other hand, should see this as an opportunity to innovate their franchise which is already beyond stale. The Legends spin-offs were a step forward, but not quite there.
