True. If we're counting lifetime sales, then it doesn't make sense to count the Switch's while it still hasn't been officially phased out.
I owned a PS2, one of only two Sony consoles I owned (the other being a PSP), and I can say it was a wonderful device, but I can easily see the Switch surpassing its sales given a fair measure of time.
Well-deserved, as always. You know the game is great when you actually want to grind, both because of the optional incentive for it and also because battles are just a treat to watch.
I only hope the best for Vanillaware so they can release another masterpiece like this.
Nearly 80 hours in with just half of the world map uncovered, Unicorn Overlord continues to dominate, recently entering my top ten most played games on my Switch.
Experiencing this scene on the SNES for the first time all those years ago was magical. The scene, along with a few other iconic ones, solidified FF VI's role as best FF game in my book.
He doesn't sound like he's only playing during breaks.
The Switch has been a great device for someone with a long commute to and from work. It makes the time just fly by. Manage your time well and it fits in great even with a busy schedule.
Unicorn Overlord is now at sixth place right now. I guess people have beaten it and are now playing other stuff?
Almost sixty hours in and I don't think I'm even at the halfway point. Just having a blast grinding and promoting my guys. Can't stop singing its praises enough.
Mine is usually whatever I'm playing any other day at that point. Regardless of genre, I play games to unwind after a busy week. If the game is stressing me out, then I see that as time to decide on something else to play. Time is too precious to a working husband and dad of two to be stressed out by a hobby.
Ultrahand was fun to an extent, but I'd like the next open-world 3D Zelda game to be more basic, perhaps closer to Breath of the Wild but with the other quality-of-life features of Tears of the Kingdom.
SM really nailed the ominous atmosphere, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's unmatched in the old-school era overall. credits to that in my book go to Clock Tower on the SNES and Friday the 13th on the NES (yes, despite it's rather bad gameplay).
Very well-deserved first place by SingleMaize HyperJesus. The game is so much fun to play. I hope this pushes Vanillaware to continue making games like this, maybe even a sequel or spin-off.
Short of being a game developer or perhaps a level-90 technomancer, there's no properly justifiable reason to emulate a fully-available current-gen system.
Passed by my local game store after work to pick up my pre-order of Unicorn Overlord. This is one truly amazing game, and I expect this to pre-occupy me for the current weekend and many more after that.
Nice, I suppose. I like the character designs, but Overwatch's gameplay has never appealed to me. I hope they release single-player experiences focused on specific characters similar to what League of Legends did. I'd jump onto those real quick.
Immediately pre-ordered this from my local game store after playing the very generous demo. I knew I was going to get this game just from the first few minutes of gameplay, and thanks to this review the few things I wanted to be sure of with this game have been confirmed.
So excited for the store to contact me that the game is finally available.
The first one is in my top ten most-played Switch games. Had lots of fun with it despite never finishing the blasted titular dungeon. I've been hoping for the second one to be released on Switch ever since I heard of its existence, so I hope this actually happens.

Re: Round Up: It's April Fools' Day, Here Are The Best Gaming Gags We've Seen (2024)
Shovel Knight skin care products? Guilty Gear perfume? These seem plausible.
Still waiting for a Persona 3 headache remedy or Switch game card-flavored mints.

No Power Stone makes me sad.

It never worked here in the Philippines, so I definitely won't miss it.

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For April And May 2024
Endless Ocean seems interesting, but Eiyuden Chronicle's got my attention.
Re: Ship Customisation And New Space Stations Arrive In No Man's Sky's 'Orbital' Update
Ship customizations AND procedurally-generated stations? Time to jump back in I guess.
Re: Cassette Beasts Is Getting A Huge Multiplayer Update On Switch
Have they sorted out the performance issues yet? Heard from reviewers that they can be pretty bothersome.
Re: Poll: What's The Best Final Fantasy Game? Rate Your Favourite Mainline & Spin-Offs
Definitely VI for me.
I also thoroughly enjoyed XII on my old PS2, though never got to finish it.

Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge Dev Would "Love" To Work On A Sequel
I did my part.
Yes, a sequel would be great, as would a different franchise done in the same style.
Re: Feature: 33 Games We're Surprised Still Aren't On Switch
Yes, Dreamcast games. A remastered Power Stone collection for the Switch would be a day-one physical purchase for me.
Also hoping (probably in vain) for Capcom to re-release Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the system.

Re: Zelda Live-Action Movie Director: "I Want To Fulfil People's Greatest Desires"
I'll reserve judgment until I see how Miyamoto finds it. I'm pretty confident Nintendo won't allow one of their biggest franchises to be tarnished.
Personally, I hope they make it more like Lord of the Rings, with less emphasis on CGI and lots of real scenery and practical effects.

Currently MLB No Show.
Re: Japanese Charts: Unicorn Overlord Maintains Its Lead Over Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Glad to see Unicorn Overlord being in such high demand. I hope this convinces Vanillaware to release more games just like it.
Re: Surprise, Adding Ultrahand To Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Was A Bit Tricky
Ultrahand was fun to an extent, but I'd like the next open-world 3D Zelda game to be more basic, perhaps closer to Breath of the Wild but with the other quality-of-life features of Tears of the Kingdom.
Re: Review: Princess Peach: Showtime! (Switch) - Peach Breaks A Leg In A High-Class Production
Yeah, definitely geared towards the young'uns. I had Yoshi's Crafted World vibes playing the demo.
The game's not for me, but I'm glad Peach is getting more exposure. Let's have Daisy next!

There's always Super Mario Bros. Wonder 2.
Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 Game Line Up Hasn't Been Decided "Yet"
The PSP games need to be there, definitely.
Then include the pachinko game just for the heck of it.

Atlus may not have expected UO to sell as good as it currently has. Glad I pre-ordered the gem. Nearly thirty hours in and it's still been a joy.

Re: 'Moonglow Bay' Looks Delightfully Cosy, And Launches On Switch Next Month
Ugh, voxel. I was never a fan of this graphics style. I'll just stick to tried-and-true farming sims for my dose of cozy.

By golly gee whiz, a pause menu! Now this makes this game a must-buy!
Re: Video: Don't Be Fooled Into Buying Fake SD Cards For Your Switch
The cheap one you get will lead to regret.
The real one may be pricey, better that than dicey.
Re: Capcom Shares Results Of The Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary 'Top Monster' Poll
Meh, never really liked the breakdancing wolf, but I guess that's a minority view.
Always was a fan of good ol' Rathalos. A simple, classic design, if not a tad generic.

Re: Review: Contra: Operation Galuga (Switch) - Does The Series Proud, But Best Played Elsewhere

I get that there are design merits too, but playability should have a bigger pull on the overall score.

This is well-deserved. The game is a gem. No regrets having this as my latest physical purchase.
