Being late to the game as always, I just recently got Super Mario Odyssey, after deciding between that or Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Amazing game, and I'm glad I got a physical copy before it starts running out. I can always get Wonder later on, I suppose.
I sure hope Nintendo is keeping a strict, watchful eye on this one. I want this movie to be great, but the sparse information currently available has so far not inspired confidence.
The first time I encountered those accursed Gloom Spawn in Tears of the Kingdom (and, in hindsight, several more times after) made this forty-year-old gaming veteran panic. The creepy design of those things, the encroaching darkness, and that off-tune music all blended so well together.
Then the panic returned when I finally had the courage to defeat them and encountered Phantom Ganon for the first time.
@romanista I've only ever used the TaTaCon with Taiko no Tatsujin, and there it works absolutely fine with none of the usual complaints I read about similar controllers online (poor sensitivity to hits and the like).
I don't know how it would work with other games, but as it has all of the usual Switch buttons on its lower end I assume one could manage in some sort of cumbersome manner.
Still playing Unicorn Overlord, but over an extended leave from work I've been alternating that with Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival, made extra fun for me and my two kids thanks to the TaTaCon I got along with the game.
Due to a recent itch for some nostalgia, though, I've been playing some PSP games via emulation, starting with Power Stone Collection (which I still wish Capcom would remaster for the Switch) but extended to other games not on Switch such as Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles, Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars, Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, Metal Slug Anthology (though I do have the ACA release of MS3 on Switch), and WTF: Work Time Fun.
I'd be kidding myself if I complained I have nothing to play.
Time for another leisurely browse through the comments section to see complaints on how this is totally the Switch's fault for being an aging device and definitely not the developers' lack of pre-release optimization despite knowing full well the capabilities of the hardware they'll be releasing their game in.
Nintendo's once again the bad guy here until the shoe is on the other foot and your own likeness is used in something sketchy for the sake of entertainment.
Ugh. I just keep hearing negative things from this release. I was thinking of getting this one, but everything I've been hearing about it has so far been discouraging. Shame.
I was already worried when the Direct trailer showed frame rate issues in some scenes, but this is just disappointing as I was aiming for this to be my next physical purchase once I'm done with Unicorn Overlord.
I definitely prefer for things like this to be ironed out long before launch, but I'll settle with patches to fix these issues, hopefully by the time I start looking around for my next game.
Nearing 200 hours with Unicorn Overlord and still not stopping. Already got fairly far but taking my sweet time. What can I say? Grinding is fun in this one.
I may give Crypt of the Necrodancer and its DLC a go though. Got them generously on sale and figured they'd be a welcome change of pace from time to time.
Sparse, unimpressive designs on consistently poor-quality yet overpriced shirts. You're better off buying a high-quality plain shirt and having a Zelda design custom-printed on it.
If I'll have at least 70 hours of fun out of a game then that's fine. Tears of the Kingdom, for example, provided me way more than that, making it worth every penny. A dollar per hour of fun is a reasonable price for me.
What SHOULD go the way of the dodo are the download codes in boxes, Day One DLC, and Day One downloads the same size or larger than the base game. With the huge selection of games available these days, I'm more than willing to wait for an actually complete game release.
True. If we're counting lifetime sales, then it doesn't make sense to count the Switch's while it still hasn't been officially phased out.
I owned a PS2, one of only two Sony consoles I owned (the other being a PSP), and I can say it was a wonderful device, but I can easily see the Switch surpassing its sales given a fair measure of time.
Well-deserved, as always. You know the game is great when you actually want to grind, both because of the optional incentive for it and also because battles are just a treat to watch.
I only hope the best for Vanillaware so they can release another masterpiece like this.
Nearly 80 hours in with just half of the world map uncovered, Unicorn Overlord continues to dominate, recently entering my top ten most played games on my Switch.
Experiencing this scene on the SNES for the first time all those years ago was magical. The scene, along with a few other iconic ones, solidified FF VI's role as best FF game in my book.

Isn't a leisurely dive the whole point of the game? Was the reviewer expecting Shinsekai levels of adventure and suspense?

Re: Bayonetta Origins Director Empathises With Paper Mario Dev, Suggests Reasons For 30FPS
Goes to show once more how privileged these people complaining are.
Anyway, wouldn't a lower framerate be an aesthetic boon to what are supposed to be animated paper cut-outs?

First thought that came to mind upon reading the game's title was the first Despicable Me movie.
